Chapter 297

After playing on a few amusement park rides with You, I wanted to go back to the Abyss.

"Let's go back."

"Go back?" You looked down at me.

"Yes, we've been to all the amusement parks too."

"Aren't there still so many rides we haven't played yet?" You pointed to other amusement facilities not far away.

"But..." I looked at the facilities not far away with a troubled expression. If You wanted to play them all, how long would it take?

"Fine, if you want to go back, then let's go back." Seeing my dilemma, You took the initiative to suggest going back.

"Okay," I nodded. "If you want to play again, we can come again next time."

You chuckled softly, "Okay."

As we were discussing going back, screams suddenly erupted from not far away, and a chaotic crowd rushed past us.

"Huh?" I turned to look at the commotion in the distance. What happened?

You looked over and sniffed lightly, "Someone's dead."

"A dead person?" How could the amusement park suddenly become private? Could there have been an accident?

"Um."

"Has there been an accident?" I craned my neck to go and see what was going on.

You shook her head. "No, I'm afraid it's some kind of evil spirit causing trouble." After saying that, You suddenly seemed to think of something and continued, "No, something's strange."

"What's wrong?" I noticed You's expression was a bit strange. "Let's go take a look."

Seeing that You's expression was not good, I took You's hand and walked straight to the scene of the incident, wanting to find out what was going on.

When we walked over, the body had already been covered up. In addition, several staff members were holding down a person dressed as a ghost at the entrance of the haunted house.

What's going on? Although the body's appearance is obscured, the bloodstains on its body suggest external injuries.

I went to look at the person who was being suppressed. His face was covered in blood, his mouth was full of blood, and his once white teeth had turned blood red.

Did this person bite you?

I looked at the person closely, but he wasn't a monster. How could he bite someone to death for no reason? Was he sick?

Although the man was being held down by five or six people, he was still struggling desperately, and it seemed that the five or six people were about to be unable to hold him down.

A guttural roar emanated from the man's throat, transforming him into a completely wild beast.

"What's going on?" I asked, puzzled.

You whispered in my ear, "If you look closely at this person, don't you notice anything strange?"

After listening, I took another careful look. I looked closely for a long time and finally saw that this person was emitting a strange energy that I had never seen before. This energy was extremely evil.

"What is this?" I was a little confused. It wasn't the ghostly aura, demonic aura, or rare demonic aura I had seen before.

"I don't know either." You also looked bewildered and pulled me back a step.

"Xin'er, be careful. I have a feeling he might possess someone else." After saying that, You secretly cast a spell on the person to prevent the evil energy from escaping.

As soon as You finished casting the spell, I heard a familiar police siren.

"The police are here," I whispered in You's ear.

"Police?" You lowered her eyes and thought for a moment. "An official human organization?"

"Yes, that's right." I nodded.

You Wei nodded slightly. "Xin'er, I need to examine this energy. I have a feeling there's something strange about it."

"Okay, I also think it's a bit strange."

We must promptly understand the unknown energies occurring in the world, especially such evil energies, which must be nipped in the bud. You don't want to see them grow stronger and cause widespread suffering.

When the police arrived, they asked the routine question, "What happened?"

"Officer, this man was a temporary worker we hired. He was a college student, but for some reason, he suddenly went crazy today and started biting people indiscriminately. This man was bitten to death by him."

"Bite to death?" The policeman frowned, looked at the bloodied man being subdued, then lifted the cover to take a look at the body. "Take him back to the station and see if he's really insane or just pretending. Do an autopsy on the body."

“They’re taking him back,” I whispered in You’s ear.

“We’ll follow,” You said calmly, her expression unchanged.

"good."

You pulled me away from the crowd, found a corner, and we disappeared from sight.

The police acted swiftly, and the body and the prisoner were put into police cars.

You and I followed the police car all the way to the police station.

The police first put the man in a cage. Once inside and no longer restrained, he started biting things like a madman.

How could a human body withstand such torment? The man was biting the iron bars, and several of his teeth were knocked out, leaving blood. I couldn't bear to look at him.

"Captain, I think this man has really gone mad." The junior officer couldn't bear to look at him either.

The slightly older sheriff stared at him for a moment and then asked, "Have you been able to contact his family?"

"We've made contact."

"How so?"

"This person is a sophomore at XX University in this city. His parents are both out of town and can come tomorrow."

"Okay." The slightly older sheriff nodded slightly, looked around for a while, and was about to leave when he suddenly stopped and instructed, "Handcuff him, tie him up, and put something soft in his mouth so he won't bite anything. If he's tormented like this all night, he'll be ruined."

"good."

The young policeman who stayed behind went to find some colleagues to tie up the crazed man and put soft cotton in his mouth to stop him from biting iron everywhere.

After the police finished dealing with the situation, they left one by one, and soon only the prisoner remained in the small cell.

You and I still didn't show ourselves. We just walked up to the prisoner. I couldn't bear to look at the person in front of me. "You, he's so pitiful."

You frowned slightly and said, "It's his fate."

Sigh.

A perfectly good college student inexplicably became a murderer. He could have had a bright future, and perhaps his family had worked hard for many years to send him to university.

You can tell this kid isn't bad just by the fact that he works part-time at amusement parks and even goes to haunted houses during his school years.

Just as I was feeling sorry for the boy in front of me, You began to act. He first dispelled the spell on the boy, preparing to strip the energy from him.

"You, will he return to normal after this energy leaves his body?"

“No.” You glanced at me and said calmly, “This energy is not something an ordinary person can withstand. He probably won’t even survive.”

"No way," I said, a little sadly. "Is there any way?"

You thought for a moment and said, "Even if the two of us treat him, we can only barely revive him; he'll just be a soulless shell."

I understood what You meant; even if the boy was barely saved, he would only be a fool.

I hesitated, unsure whether I should treat him. Even if I did, would he really want to live a life of aimless wandering? What about his parents? Would they accept it?

“Xin’er, everyone has their own destiny. Even we cannot go against it. His fate is sealed.”

"I see."
