Chapter 3

After I spoke, I did not hear You's reply.

I felt a silent chill for no reason. I came to my senses and looked at You, whose face was not friendly.

"Emmm..." I shrank back. "You, don't overthink it... I just... I just..."

"What is it?"

"It was just something I said offhand."

You snorted coldly, "If you think he's lonely, why don't you go and keep him company?"

I quickly hugged Youjiao and coaxed her, "Why would I want to go with him? If I'm going to be with someone, it'll be you. What does it matter to me whether he's lonely or not?"

You turned her head away and wouldn't look at me.

It seems this time it won't be so easy to appease them.

"Don't be angry, I was just saying it casually, don't overthink it." I shook You's arm.

You pulled her arm out of my hand and said, "Often, what you say casually is the truth."

I almost cried when I showed it to You. How could You interpret this so differently?

"I really didn't..."

"Really not? Lan Qi is quite good-looking too."

"Really? I've forgotten what he looks like. In my eyes, only You is the most beautiful." I showered You with compliments.

Her eyes swept over me with a faint glint in them, her expression softening slightly, but she still didn't want to talk to me.

Why did I have to bring up Lan Qi?

I feel like slapping myself across the face.

"You..." I tugged at You's clothes, looking at her pitifully.

"Okay, I'm fine now. Don't say things like that again."

"I promise I won't mention it again, and from now on, the only person of the opposite sex I talk about will be you." I looked at You ingratiatingly.

"Really?" You asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Huh?" I was taken aback; this seemed a bit difficult.

You gave a soft snort and ignored me.

This time, however, I didn't rush to coax You. I could tell that You wasn't really angry this time.

I don't know how long I slept after drinking the juice from the wisteria production room, so I'm feeling refreshed now.

After washing up, I took my phone and lay on the bed, playing games to my heart's content.

I played until the early hours of the morning before finally falling asleep.

I felt like I hadn't been asleep long before my phone woke me up again.

Who would call me so late?

"Hello?" I answered the phone, speaking groggily.

"Hello, this is Zhao Sen, the man from Zhao Family Village. Do you remember him?"

"Zhao Family Village?" I don't seem to have such a map in my mind. It took me a while to realize that it was a village I had visited not long ago.

Zhao Sen? Could he be the college student who treated us to dinner that day and said he dreamed of immortals?

"I remember, so what?"

"I'm sorry to bother you so late."

I'm sorry, but haven't I bothered you? I'm a little impatient.

"Is there something you need?"

"So, have we caught the evil spirits in our village?" Zhao Sen asked cautiously.

Evil spirits? The Heavenly Court took them away long ago.

"They've been caught and dealt with. Your village will be fine from now on."

But where did Zhao Sen get my phone number? I'm even starting to have some dark thoughts now, like, could Zhao Sen also be one of Liu Lieyu's men?

"Caught him? That's good, that's good." Zhao Sen's murmured voice came from behind.

"Okay, I'll hang up now." Just as I was about to hang up, I heard an anxious voice on the other end of the line.

"Don't hang up yet."

Upon hearing this, I stopped hanging up. "Is there anything else?"

"Here's the thing, I want to ask when the evil spirit was captured? And why hasn't the fairy sister returned yet?"

Huh? Fairy Spirit? I seem to have completely forgotten about Fairy Spirit.

"Ah, I forgot to ask about Xianling's whereabouts. Wait for me to ask her."

"Can you hurry up?" Zhao Sen's voice was somewhat shy but also anxious.

"Sure, I'll call you back after I've asked around."

"Thank you," Zhao Sen said before hanging up the phone.

I thought to myself, "I'll go ask in Heaven tomorrow," and then I fell asleep again.

When I woke up the next day, I thought about the phone call I had made the night before.

Sure enough, I was half asleep at night when I agreed to this.

I silently comforted myself, thinking that I was doing a good deed.

"You, let's go to the Heavenly Court today." You, unusually, didn't prepare food downstairs today and lay in bed with me.

"Go to the Heavenly Court to find that evil spirit?"

"Yes, that's right. You heard the phone call last night too?"

You nodded slightly, "I'm a light sleeper."

I yawned and got up to wash and get dressed.

"I don't know how he got my phone number," I muttered to myself as I walked.

"Didn't you print a lot of business cards before?"

"Oh? Yes." The business card incident happened so long ago. I only used it a few times at the beginning, and then it seems to have been piled up in the store without being closed.

"I remember your phone number was on the business card."

"Oh, I see." I scratched my head dismissively and went to the bathroom to wash up.

"I'll go prepare breakfast for you first, and then we'll go after you've eaten."

"Okay, thank you." I thought I had upset You yesterday, so she went on strike today. It seems I was overthinking it.

After I took a shower, You's breakfast was ready.

After You and I had breakfast, You went upstairs to wash up as usual, while I waited on the first floor.

You didn't keep me waiting long before coming downstairs.

"Let's go." I took You's hand and we set off.

The road to Heaven was quite familiar to both You and me.

Before long, we arrived at Nantianmen again.

"You two have come again." The guard at the South Heavenly Gate happened to be the same guard we were on our last visit.

"Um."

"What brings you here?" The guard's smile was exceptionally bright.

"The evil spirits we reported to the Heavenly Court before, weren't they brought up yesterday? I'd like to take a look."

"Oh, him." The guard suddenly realized.

"What? You two know each other?"

The guard nodded. "I've heard of it."

Heard of it? This evil spirit has only been in Heaven for a day and it's already this famous?

"What have you heard?" I asked, a little curious.

"Just say he's like an idiot."

"A fool?" I was a little puzzled. Although the man in black robes did not speak, he couldn't possibly be a fool, could he? After all, spirits who have achieved cultivation are extremely intelligent, so how could there be a fool among them?

"Well, you'll see for yourself," the guard said with a smile as he ushered us into the Heavenly Court. "He's locked up in the Heavenly Prison."

"Okay, thank you."

After saying goodbye to the guards at the South Heavenly Gate, I embarked on my journey to the Heavenly Prison.

The original owner lived in the Heavenly Court for many years, and I also stayed there for a while, so I'm quite familiar with the roads in the Heavenly Court.

You and I arrived at the entrance of the prison with almost no trouble.

The guards at the entrance to the Heavenly Prison were much more indifferent than those at the South Heavenly Gate.

After giving me and You a cold look, only a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes before he showed no expression.

"We want to go in and find the prisoner who was just brought in yesterday."
