"The three of you have changed quite a bit." The God's calm yet imposing gaze swept over us one by one.
I felt a little flustered under the gaze of the deity. I appeared strong and calm, but my palms were covered in sweat.
The God is too powerful; we are not even in the same league as him.
Liu Lieyu remained silent, You did not answer either, and I would not answer rashly.
"Why are you all silent?" the deity said calmly. "I already know the general outline of your affairs."
"Thank you for your concern, Your Majesty. We are fine," Liu Lieyu said first.
"Nothing wrong?" The deity smiled and asked in return, "Nothing wrong? Are you all going to be reincarnated again? Nothing wrong? You've ruined the Heavenly Court, and now you're fighting amongst yourselves. If it weren't for this sudden surge of resentment, how long do you plan to fight?"
Liu Lieyu remained silent.
I suppressed the urge to say something.
You frowned slightly.
I guess You doesn't want to be the tattletale either.
"I don't care what conflicts you have, I will not allow you to fight amongst yourselves. If I find out, I will not let you off lightly." The God's tone gradually became serious.
I clenched my fists desperately. What does the deity mean by this? Did my child die in vain?
“God, we didn’t deliberately provoke this. Ask Donghuang what he did.” You’s deep, magnetic voice rang out, each word seeming to pound on my heart. “No matter what, the child is innocent. Donghuang used extremely cruel methods to make my child be devoured alive by snakes.”
My eyes welled up with tears, and I struggled to hold them back from crying out loud.
Even the usually indifferent God's eyes widened slightly in surprise. He turned to look at Liu Lieyu, "Donghuang, how could you do such a cruel thing? You are an ancient god, how could you treat an innocent child like this?"
“Innocent?” Liu Lieyu sneered. “I don’t think I’m innocent at all.”
"No matter what, the child shouldn't be involved." The deity's words grew increasingly cold.
Liu Lieyu seemed to have gone mad, speaking fiercely, "Nu Xin is my imperial concubine! Di Jun is my brother! Yet they've been together behind my back and even had a child. How can I tolerate this!"
Liu Lieyu's words instantly enraged me. Before I could rush forward, a loud "smack" rang out in the quiet palace.
I leaned forward slightly to look past You and see what was happening ahead.
How could that be?
The once pristine white floor is now stained crimson with blood. What happened?
My gaze slowly moved upwards, and it looked as if Liu Lieyu's abdomen had been pierced directly by an object the size of a basketball. Blood was gushing down like a pillar, and his intestines had been pulled out.
I quickly looked away, not wanting to see any more; I avoided the bloody scene if I could.
I don't understand what the deity means by this. Does he think that I will forgive Liu Lieyu because of this?
He was only injured, and Liu Lieyu could recover from that injury in an instant. Even if I killed Liu Lieyu, I still wouldn't be satisfied.
"Nüxin, Donghuang has committed this mistake, and I will punish him myself. Today's action is just a minor warning. Once this matter is resolved, I will definitely uphold justice for you."
"Fairness what?!" I could no longer suppress my anger.
"Nüxin, it seems you didn't listen to what I just said." The God looked at me with a warning gaze, and an overwhelming pressure swept over me.
"My child cannot have died in vain." I said, each word distinct and deliberate, despite the oppressive aura of the deity.
You noticed something was wrong and quickly shielded me behind her. "God, we just want justice for our child."
When Youhu was in front of me, the pressure I felt was reduced by more than half.
"Do not forget your responsibilities. You are all born gods. How many casualties have your struggles caused?"
I tugged at You's sleeve, worried that because I had caused You to offend the God, what if the God really got angry and killed You?
An unborn child is less important to me than You; I cannot lose another because of a life that has already passed away.
You turned around and smiled at me, indicating that I shouldn't worry, and held my hand tightly with one hand.
"If there is to be a conflict, it will be Donghuang who starts it first."
Liu Lieyu gritted his teeth and spoke slowly and deliberately, "I don't know who first imprisoned me in Guixu."
I knew Liu Lieyu would bring this up.
Seeing that we were about to start fighting, the deity spoke up to stop us, "Shut up! Stop bickering and arguing. Do you have any semblance of a great deity?"
We both immediately stopped talking.
The deity sighed, "You weren't like this ten thousand years ago. How could you have changed so much, becoming less and less like a great god?"
When the deity began reminiscing about the past, I dared not speak, fearing that the deity's power would reveal something.
"Donghuang, your obsession goes too far." The God turned his gaze from us to Liu Lieyu.
Liu Lieyu remained silent.
"We'll discuss your matter after this incident. If you start another fight before the resentment is resolved, I will show no mercy." The deity's intimidating eyes swept over us.
None of the three of us spoke.
The deity narrowed his eyes slightly, raised his right hand, and three tiny spirits entered our bodies before we could even react.
I was completely stunned, watching the spirit enter my arm. What was that?
“You don’t need to panic. If you haven’t disobeyed me, this thing will do you no harm.”
The deity then waved his hand, "You may all leave now. Try to eliminate all the resentment in this area within the next few days."
Even though we were unwilling, the three of us had no choice but to swallow our anger under the crushing force of our strength.
After the three of us left the four halls, You and I walked quickly ahead, trying our best to get rid of Liu Lieyu. I was really afraid that I would not be able to help but turn around and attack Liu Lieyu.
However, no one knows what the spirit within us is. If we really have to take action, it would be best to let Liu Lieyu break it first, so that we can clearly know what the consequences will be.
You and I walked out of the island, but Liu Lieyu was still following behind us.
I couldn't hold back any longer, so I turned around and said irritably, "Liu Lieyu! What are you trying to do by following us around like this?"
Liu Lieyu glanced at me indifferently. Perhaps because he had just lost too much blood, Liu Lieyu's already pale face became even paler, and his scarlet lips also turned pale.
"Liu Lieyu! Speak up! What do you mean?!" I became even angrier when Liu Lieyu didn't speak.
"Since the deity has summoned us to eliminate the resentment, we must do it together."
"Who wants to be with you?!"
"So where are you going?" Liu Lieyu smiled. "As far as I know, the Abyss is not invaded by resentment."
"Where we go is none of your business!!" Seeing Liu Lieyu's appearance reminds me of my tragically deceased child.
You spoke softly beside me, "We have our own way of removing resentment, so there's no need for Donghuang to worry about it."
Liu Lieyu's narrow eyes coldly stared at You, who was draped over my shoulder, his face blank and expressionless.
