Chapter 342

"Give me the talisman."

"A talisman?" Xiao Zhang, puzzled, took out a talisman from his pocket and handed it to me.

"Give me the talisman, and I'll come find you tonight."

"Huh?" Little Zhang looked longingly at the talisman in my hand. "This... I don't have this..."

"What's there to be afraid of? It's broad daylight, what's there to be afraid of?" I raised an eyebrow and put away the talisman. "I'll be here tonight."

"But why take this back?"

"I suspect that the evil spirit haunting you has a lot to do with your girlfriend."

"What?! You mean your girlfriend is dead?!"

Faced with Xiao Zhang's strong reaction, I simply looked at him calmly and said, "Possibly."

"You can go back now. I'll contact you this afternoon."

"Okay." Xiao Zhang left dejectedly.

"Why are you helping him so much?" You asked, tilting her head and squeezing my hand after Xiao Zhang left.

"Isn't this making money?" I squinted and leaned back into You's arms.

You snorted softly, "I still have quite a few things there."

“I know you have good stuff.” I fiddled with You’s clothes. “But I just happen to have nothing better to do.”

"Are you really just bored?"

"Otherwise what?" I sensed a hint of jealousy in You's voice. Could it be? I looked up at You's expression.

"I think he's not bad looking."

I suddenly laughed. "You, are you jealous?"

Good heavens, You actually gets jealous of an ordinary mortal? This is just too fantastical.

"Hmm." You pulled my chin closer and gently rested it on the top of my head. "I don't like watching you talk to other men."

"Then you'll talk to him this afternoon?" I chuckled to myself in You's arms. You's jealousy was just too adorable.

You remained silent for a long time before finally muttering a quiet "Okay."

We hugged for a while, and then You went to prepare lunch for us.

After lunch, I lay on You's lap and played games, while You closed her eyes and meditated.

Around 6 o'clock, I contacted Xiao Zhang, who sent me an address.

I patted You and we went out to find Xiao Zhang. The address Xiao Zhang sent me was also a high-end residential area in the city.

After You and I arrived at the entrance of the residential area, I called Xiao Zhang and asked him to come out and pick us up.

Not long after the phone call ended, Xiao Zhang appeared in front of us in a great hurry.

"Fairy Maiden, you've finally arrived."

I turned my head to look at You, and I still remembered what we had said at noon.

You glanced at me, then took my hand, and gave Xiao Zhang a brief look. "Lead the way."

"Huh?" Xiao Zhang was startled when he saw that it was You speaking.

You glanced at Xiao Zhang indifferently.

Xiao Zhang then realized what was happening and said, "Come with me."

Xiao Zhang lives on the 34th floor. The living room has floor-to-ceiling windows with a sea view, and the decoration style is the minimalist style that young people like nowadays.

"Fairy, Immortal, please sit." After inviting us to sit on the sofa, Xiao Zhang hurriedly poured water for us.

I looked around Xiao Zhang's room. The sun was setting over the western mountains, and the yin energy in the room was getting heavier. It seemed that evil spirits had been visiting Xiao Zhang's home quite often.

I noticed the seclusion, and so did the other person.

After You sat down, she said, "The evil spirits will come looking for you again tonight."

"Huh?" Xiao Zhang's face turned pale upon hearing this.

"We'll both be here to help you find out the truth. You just need to act as usual."

"I..." Xiao Zhang's face was pale, and it was clear that he had many questions he wanted to ask, but when he met You Ping's calm face, he didn't dare to ask anything more.

Xiao Zhang could only turn to me for help.

"Don't worry," I said, trying to comfort Xiao Zhang, whose expression looked so pitiful.

As soon as I finished speaking, I felt the chill around me intensify.

I instinctively hugged You, and the chill emanating from her body subsided slightly.

Next, Xiao Zhang sat down opposite us, trembling.

You glanced at Xiao Zhang coldly and frowned, saying, "I told you to act as usual."

"Oh." Xiao Zhang stood up, calmed himself down, and went back to his room.

Not long after, I heard the sound of the computer turning on, followed by my game teammates charging into battle.

The sun gradually disappeared on the horizon, and darkness enveloped the earth.

You and I sat on the sofa in the living room waiting. I wasn't nervous at all. It was just a ghost, after all, I had even flirted with their leader.

I waited for a long time, but no spirit came, so I took out my phone and started playing some games out of boredom.

Suddenly, I heard a baby cry, and then the air in the room was filled with an eerie atmosphere.

This... is he still a kid? Am I wrong?

I was pondering this when I heard the sound of a child running past in the living room.

However, the sound stopped abruptly. Before I could even see You make a move, the little devil was trapped in the living room and unable to move.

I guessed that You was afraid the little devil would make noise, so I silenced him.

Because I saw the little devil trying to cry but unable to, his already bluish-purple face turned even more purple.

Why would a ghost come looking for Xiao Zhang when he's perfectly fine?

"Xiao Zhang, come out here." I couldn't help but call out, after all, he was just a child.

When I see this little devil in front of me, I think of my own child.

"What's wrong?" Xiao Zhang had been on edge the whole time, and when he heard me call him, he quickly came out.

"I'm asking you, have you ever had a child?"

"Huh?" Xiao Zhang looked confused.

"to be honest."

Seeing my serious expression, Xiao Zhang quickly denied it, "No, I've never had children. Even when I'm with my girlfriend, I always take precautions."

I frowned, looking at the immobile little devil. Why would this little devil come looking for Xiao Zhang?

"Why are you suddenly asking this?" Xiao Zhang swallowed hard and asked.

You suddenly interjected, "The evil spirit that's haunting you is a little devil."

"Huh?" Xiao Zhang's expression instantly turned tense. He took a step closer to You, glancing around nervously, looking terrified. "How could this be?"

Seeing Xiao Zhang like this, You, perhaps wanting to scare him on purpose, actually made the little ghost appear in front of Xiao Zhang.

"Ah!" Xiao Zhang cried out, his legs went weak and he sat down on the ground, shouting, "Ghost, ghost."

"What are you afraid of? We've already subdued them."

However, my words still couldn't comfort Xiao Zhang.

Xiao Zhang was still sitting on the ground, trembling.

Seeing that Xiao Zhang wouldn't recover anytime soon, I stopped paying attention to him and just frowned at the kid.

The little devil is a problem. If you ask him questions, he absolutely won't understand; all he'll do is cry and cause trouble.

"Don't worry," You saw through my thoughts. "His mother will come looking for him."

"That's good." If his mother comes looking for us, we might be able to find out something.

"Shall we convert this brat to enlightenment?"

"I have no objection." You reached out and gently rubbed my head.

For me, converting evil spirits is very simple; I don't even need to recite any scriptures.

I walked up to the little ghost, squatted down, and placed my hand on its head. With my eyes closed, I transferred a wisp of magic power to the little ghost.
