Chapter 364

"No." The boy shook his head. "She's not a fairy from a temple, she's someone else's bad person."

I watched the boy intently, waiting for him to speak slowly.

The boy sighed, "Before this happened in the village, I... I had a dream."

"What dream?" My eyes lit up. This dream was probably a message from a deity in the temple to the boy.

You, who had been listening to the boy's words with her head down, unusually looked up at him.

"In my dream, it was still that fairy. She told me that the village was about to suffer a disaster and many people would die. She gave me an address and said that I should go to her to avert the disaster."

"Address? The address of our psychic shop?"

"Mm." The boy nodded slightly.

This is interesting. I've only intervened at the spirit shop twice: once to send Xiao Zhang's girlfriend back to the underworld, and the other time to take in Qingzhen.

I turned my head and glanced at Qingzhen sitting next to me.

Ever since I took Qingzhen in, I haven't been involved in the affairs of the spirit communication shop. Qingzhen has handled all the business inside and out. This is the third time I've had to get involved.

Although the spirits in the temple are minor deities, they are still deities. Why would they seek help from a spirit medium shop, specifically a snake demon's shop? Unless she knows about my relationship with You and the spirit medium shop, how could she know?

The connection between these points looked strange no matter how you looked at it. I glanced at You, who also seemed to be deep in thought.

I glanced at the boy in front of me. He didn't seem to be lying, but humans are the most untrustworthy creatures. You know, anyone can bewitch humans, whether it's a ghost, a demon, or even a deity.

It seems this matter is not as easy as I imagined.

"And then?" I asked after a moment's thought.

"After having this dream, I couldn't find peace of mind, so I first called my family. They said everything was fine in the village, so I went to the psychic shop again according to the address."

Qingzhen suddenly spoke up, "But I've never seen you at the psychic shop before."

“Hmm.” The boy nodded. “You weren’t in the shop when I went there last time, and I didn’t stay long. I was scared when I saw that there really was such a shop, so I went back.”

This... this is truly my destiny to suffer this calamity... Even after others openly warned me... Sigh.

“After I got back, I called my family for several days in a row. They kept saying that everything was fine, so I was relieved. Who knew, who knew.” The boy suddenly broke down in tears. “It’s all my fault. If I had followed the instructions in my dream earlier, maybe this wouldn’t have happened. It’s all my fault.”

I sighed and comforted them, "It's not your fault, you didn't take their lives."

The boy cried for a long time before he finally stopped. "I received the call about their deaths."

"Don't be sad, I will definitely bring that evil spirit back."

"Hmm." The boy nodded listlessly.

"Your family will be fine on the other side."

"Um."

Seeing the boy's distraught appearance, I couldn't bear to disturb him any longer, so I pulled You away and said goodbye to the boy.

"Should we go and see other places?" Qingzhen suddenly asked on the way.

"No need." I shook my head. The boy's information was enough, and the other villagers probably wouldn't know anything more.

"Qingzhen." I turned my head and carefully examined Qingzhen.

"I'm here." Qingzhen was taken aback, then nodded slightly.

"Why would the spirits in the temple come to our psychic shop for help?" I asked slowly.

“This…” Qingzhen’s beautiful eyebrows furrowed. “Perhaps she heard about the shop manager.”

"Heard about me?" I smiled. "I've hardly ever been to a psychic shop. How did she hear about it? Or did you tell someone else?"

Although I didn't tell Qingzhen at the time that we should hide our identities, I didn't like others spreading our identities around.

Upon hearing this, Qingzhen suddenly knelt down. "I never told outsiders about the relationship between the shop manager and the spirit communication shop." Qingzhen bit her lip slightly and continued to defend herself, "I have never publicized the shop manager's identity to outsiders either."

"Alright, get up. You've been studying in the human world for so long, why do you still kneel down so easily?" I pulled Qingzhen up.

After Qingzhen got up, she stood still without saying a word.

"I'm not blaming you, I was just asking casually. Okay, go and find out where the evil spirits are." I straightened Qingzhen's slightly disheveled clothes.

"Okay." Qingzhen nodded slightly and then disappeared.

After Qingzhen left, I tugged at You's sleeve.

"You, don't you think this whole thing is a bit strange? Or am I just overthinking it?"

You gently rubbed my head, then lowered her head to kiss my lips, saying, "You do what you need to do, I'll protect you in everything."

"Hmm." I nodded emphatically, but still a little curious, I pulled You aside and asked, "I have a feeling there's something strange about this. Do you think I'm overthinking it, or is there really a problem?"

I'm never as smart as You; You must know.

You smiled, a glint of shrewdness in your eyes, "You're right, there is something strange about it."

"Then...this..." I felt a little flustered when I heard You's affirmation.

"What are you afraid of? With me here, it's just a little trick. Didn't you say you were bored the other day? Now you have something to do?" You smiled as she tidied my hair, her words light and casual.

Seeing how calm You was, I stopped panicking.

That's right. Anyway, with You around, what am I afraid of? No matter what happens, You will be with me.

"With you here, I'm not afraid."

With a gentle smile, she took my hand and we walked slowly along the mountain path, as if we were on vacation rather than catching demons.

She chuckled softly and squeezed my hand. "I never thought my little idiot would become so smart."

"Who's the idiot?" I retorted, dissatisfied.

You simply laughed, and the sound of her clear and cheerful laughter filled the mountains and forests.

"Hey." I was about to hit You in annoyance, but I lost my balance and almost fell.

You caught me as I was about to fall, his handsome face smiling, his thin lips parting slightly, "Still not stupid, you still fall down while walking?"

I didn't have a chance to refute it right away.

You seemed to know something, squinting as her curled eyelashes cast a shadow under her eyes, "I know, the internet says this is an essential skill for female leads, falling flat on their face?"

My God, what did Youdu learn online?

"I didn't fall flat on my face, it was just an accident..." I trailed off, my voice growing weaker, because You maintained a smile, her eyes fixed on the ground. I followed her gaze and saw that it was indeed flat.

You looked at my face, which turned from white to red, and she was in a very good mood.

The balance between us was broken by Qingzhen.

"Manager." Qingzhen's voice arrived before she did.

I gave You a push to help me stand up straight.

The next second, Qingzhen appeared in front of us.

"You're back? Did you find out?"
