"Get up, go have breakfast." You kissed the corner of my eye with a warm smile.
I gave a soft hum and said sweetly, "I'm covered in sweat."
Seeing this, You glanced at me and carried me straight into the clean room, but the little boy hadn't had time to prepare hot water for You and me yet.
I bury myself deep within the depths of my heart, too ashamed to face anyone, for I am still completely naked.
After placing me in the clean room, You held me with one hand and let the pure water slide off my body. After wetting me, You rubbed my whole body with soap and rinsed me with water. Then You picked up a towel and dried me off.
Throughout the entire process, I just stood there dumbly, letting You do whatever she wanted.
"Are you stupid?" You carried me back to bed and covered me up tightly, but I still looked dazed.
My face turned red instantly. I'll still feel shy no matter what, even if you give me a bath.
Seeing my flushed face, You couldn't help but curl her lips into a kiss on my lips. "Hmm? Still getting up for breakfast?"
I quietly began, "Eat..."
"Then why aren't you getting up yet?"
"Get up." My shy voice sounded particularly weak. I gently nudged You with one hand. "You get up first."
"Okay, I'll get up." You stood up helplessly and turned around.
After seeing that You wasn't looking at me, I quickly grabbed my clothes and put them on.
After I finished dressing, I quietly stood behind You and touched her palm with my hand.
You turned around and smiled, then took my hand without hesitation.
Ye City was still vibrant in the morning, though not as bustling as in the afternoon.
People who get up early to work walk on the streets, and there are some early morning food stalls on both sides of the streets.
We ordered two bowls of plain porridge with side dishes and a pancake before starting to eat.
"You, shall we go and take a look at the private treasuries of the major families tomorrow?" I used magic when I spoke to You, so only You could hear my voice.
You and I had already searched the Chu Palace's treasury and various parts of the palace, but we did not find the Soul-Snatching Jade. I figured that if the Soul-Snatching Jade was not in the palace, it must have fallen into the hands of a powerful family.
After taking a sip of porridge, You nodded gently in agreement, "Okay."
Seeing that You agreed, I began to discuss further whose house we should visit.
In the end, they couldn't reach a conclusion, so they decided to check each one one by one according to the terrain.
After breakfast, You and I went to the east of the city to search for the whereabouts of the Soul-Stealing Jade.
The search took a whole day, and You and I looked through all the aristocratic families in Ye City one by one, but we didn't even see a trace of the Soul-Stealing Jade.
I lay back on the bed, exhausted, and groaned, "Why is it so hard to find? You, I feel like we'll never find it in our lifetime."
"Don't rush, we'll find it eventually." You sat on the edge of the bed and massaged my arms and legs.
"Really?" After these past few days of disappointment, I feel that finding the Soul-Stealing Jade is becoming increasingly difficult.
"Yes," You replied decisively.
"All right."
You's massage technique was so comfortable that I fell asleep while she was massaging me.
The next day, You and I resumed our search for the Soul-Stealing Jade in Ye City. Of course, during our free time, You and I would sit in the teahouse and listen to gossip.
These past few days, the talk of the town has been about the princesses of Wei and Qi.
Initially, the city did not have a strong affinity for the foreign princess, but in the past few days, they had heard from somewhere that the princesses of Wei and Qi were beautiful, kind-hearted, and virtuous, and every word that could be used to praise a woman was used.
My eyes lit up and I immediately understood the trick. These messages were probably spread by the states of Wei and Qi. They really used all sorts of tricks before the person even arrived, all to ensure a smooth marriage alliance.
However, I was just listening to gossip and didn't know what to do with it. The affairs of Qi and Wei had nothing to do with me.
"You, the teahouse talks about this every day, I'm tired of it."
"Then I'll go out for a walk with you?" I immediately raised both hands in agreement as soon as You finished speaking.
Ancient markets and shops were very lively, especially in Ye City, the capital of the Chu Kingdom, where everything was available.
As Youman and I wandered aimlessly through the streets, we suddenly heard someone hawking their wares.
My gossip instincts were immediately aroused; it's human nature to join in the fun, and I couldn't resist going online to see what was going on.
Could it be that he's selling himself into servitude to bury his father? Or is he harassing a woman?
Either way, I might have another chance to be a hero and save the damsel in distress today.
I had only ever read about such things in books before, but had never witnessed them in person.
I arrived in Heaven, so there's obviously no need for me to play the hero and save the day. Whether in Heaven, the Abyss, the Ruins of Return, or Hell, I always seem to be the one being taken care of and protected.
I shook my head, trying to clear my mind of my worries, and then the hawking cries reached my ears.
"You damned little beggar, you stole my money?!" the man cursed as he appeared to kick.
I also heard crying, which must have come from the little beggar.
I moved closer to get a clear view of what was happening in front of me.
A burly man with large ears was kicking the beggar on the ground with all his might, cursing as he did so, while the child desperately begged for mercy, "No, no, I didn't steal your money!"
"Bullshit!" the man spat and continued, "You still dare to say you didn't steal my money? Isn't this stolen from me?" As he spoke, the man pointed to a coin in his hand.
The little beggar continued to protest, "No, no, a gentleman just gave it to me."
"Nonsense! Who would give a beggar so much money?! You clearly stole it from me!" The man said, but his feet didn't stop moving.
I frowned slightly. Something was fishy about this. Whether the money was stolen by the little beggar was another matter entirely.
Just as I was about to intervene and stop the man's actions, a gentle, refined voice suddenly rang out from the crowd, "The money was given to the little beggar by me. Does this gentleman have any questions?"
Although the man's voice wasn't loud, it instantly silenced the crowd. I looked in the direction of the sound and saw the crowd automatically make way for him.
The young man in white was as handsome as jade, with a green flute hanging at his waist.
He's so handsome; there are very few outstandingly handsome men like him in the mortal world. I suddenly remembered what someone in the teahouse said about his celestial appearance, and this gentleman in white truly deserves that title.
As I was looking, my view was suddenly blocked. Curious, I turned my head and saw a dark face.
"You, I was just taking a look. Are you going to forbid me from even looking now?" I sighed helplessly. You was getting more and more petty.
"You can't not look, you can only look at me."
"This..." I was speechless for a moment. In this world, it's either women or men, how could I not look at other men?
"You..." I called out softly.
You didn't say anything, so I mustered up my courage and called out to You again, and then hugged You's arm and acted coquettishly.
