Chapter 401

The scions of prominent families gradually arrived and took their seats. Most of the seats downstairs were occupied, but the most prominent seats were still unoccupied.

I rested my chin on my hand, and the seats in front of me were probably occupied by the eldest prince, the second prince, and other members of the royal family.

As I was thinking, I saw Huo Qi following behind the gentle and refined young man I had met before; one was gentle and composed, the other was sunny and lively.

The two had a good relationship. Perhaps it was because of my preconceived notions that I always felt the eldest prince would have ill intentions towards Huo Qi.

Once all the royal family members had arrived, only the emperor and empress remained.

I then turned my attention to the princess of Wei, whose name was also Yinhua.

Whether it was a coincidence or intentional is unknown.

Yinhua sat regally on the high seat, a pearl-strung veil covering half her face, yet her stunning beauty was still evident.

Most of the men in the hall couldn't help but look at Yinhua. Huo Qi also glanced at her a few times, but his gaze was different from the other men's. With each glance, the doubt in Huo Qi's eyes increased.

Will this guy realize we look alike? Even though I was dressed as a man in front of Huo Qi, I didn't change my expression.

"Second brother, have you taken a fancy to Princess Yinhua?"

"How could that be?" Huo Qi decisively refused, then glanced at Yin Hua and said, "I just feel that Princess Yin Hua's appearance is somewhat similar to someone I know."

"Is that so?" The eldest prince glanced at Yinhua across from him, seemingly lost in thought.

I naturally overheard their conversation. By the way, the First Prince has seen me. He smiled at me on the street that day, and he saw me dressed as a woman. I just hope that the First Prince has a bad memory and can completely forget me.

"You, you've been by the Crown Prince's side. How is his memory?"

"Photographic memory".

My heart was completely broken. Oh well, I might as well give up. So what if we look alike? It's not a big deal. Thinking like this made me feel much better.

Yinhua simply sat upright, unaffected by the surrounding gazes. If I hadn't seen him and Luo talking that day, I would have believed that Yinhua was just an ordinary princess from a small country.

"His Majesty the Emperor has arrived! His Majesty the Empress has arrived!"

"Long live the Emperor! Long live the Empress! Long live the Empress!" The crowd below knelt down.

"Rise," the King of Chu said, gesturing for everyone to rise.

Only then did I get a clear look at the king's face; he was a handsome and dashing middle-aged man.

No wonder the two princes are so handsome; their father is good-looking too.

After the King of Chu exchanged a few polite words of welcome with the two princesses, the banquet began rather sparsely.

During this time, he was either offering toasts or watching the dance and music playing in the middle of the hall, creating a harmonious scene between the emperor and his subjects.

When the banquet was more than halfway over, the princess of Qi suddenly spoke up, "This humble girl wishes to use music to wish the State of Chu a prosperous and powerful nation, and a long and peaceful life for its ruler."

"Granted." The king smiled and granted the Qi princess's request.

It's time for the talent show segment again.

I didn't care at all what the Qi princess played; the music I'd heard was far better than hers. I was just observing Yinhua.

"The Qi princess's musical skills are unparalleled; she shall be rewarded."

Since the king had already offered a reward, the people below also praised the princess of Qi.

The Qi princess maintained a polite smile throughout. In fact, the Qi princess was also very beautiful, but she paled in comparison when sitting next to the Wei princess.

"Princess of Wei, would you like one?"

"Yes, even a princess from Qi performed."

The crowd began to urge the princess of Wei to perform a talent. The princess of Wei was so beautiful that whatever she did would be pleasing to the eye. Some men at the banquet couldn't help but stare at the princess of Wei.

"I have a dance to offer," Yinhua suddenly said, rising to her feet.

"Very well, very well," the King of Chu happily agreed.

"My daughter just needs to go downstairs to change her clothes and get ready."

"Okay, go ahead."

After Yinhua left, people in the main hall started chattering about what dance she would perform next.

I watched Yin Hua's departing figure, lost in thought, but I didn't follow.

As soon as the performance ended, another group of dancers in flowing white dresses, like fairies, took their seats.

The white-clad fairies gathered together in the main hall, swaying their waists. Suddenly, the music changed, and a woman in a red dance dress twirled into the room.

The woman's face was fully exposed; she was Princess Yinhua.

The men in the hall immediately erupted in excitement, their eyes practically glued to Yinhua.

Huo Qi was so shocked when he saw Yin Hua's face that he dropped his chopsticks and was completely dumbfounded.

The eldest prince looked at Yinhua's face with a thoughtful expression.

Yinhua's waist was extremely supple, and every movement exuded feminine charm.

This is also something Yinhua excels at, after all, she is a snake demon.

After Yin Hua finished her dance, many of the foolish men in the hall emerged, their eyes now filled with lust as they looked at her. Some, lacking self-control, even...

The Empress's expression was not good; she stared coldly at Yinhua below the stage.

The Empress was well aware of the intentions behind sending these two princesses from Wei and Qi, but it would not be a good thing for either the Emperor or her own prince to marry such a vixen.

The women in the main hall secretly pinched their husbands hard, secretly rejoicing that such a bewitching woman could only marry into the mortal realm.

"Good, not bad, reward him." The emperor, as expected of a ruler, still had strong self-control. However, his gaze towards Yinhua held a hint of longing. It seemed that Yinhua was going to enter the palace.

The banquet ended slowly, and You and I, finding it uninteresting, left early.

The next day, everyone in Yecheng was talking about Yinhua's dance, praising her beauty and saying that she was so captivating that it was worth dying for.

When I heard this news, I was full of questions. Did Yinhua plan to use this to lure Liu Lieyu over? It seemed so unreliable to me.

"Master, Master, I'm here." Huo Qi's sweet voice came from outside the door.

"I'm here." I opened the door and saw Huo Qi staring at me in a daze.

"What's wrong? You don't even recognize your master after just one night?" I asked, deliberately keeping a straight face.

"No, no." Huo Qi hurriedly shook his head and cautiously asked, "Master, were you ever separated from your family when you were a child? Or do you know your family?"

"What are you doing?" I looked at Huo Qi with feigned wariness, but I understood what Huo Qi meant. He probably thought that since Yin Hua and I looked so alike, we must be siblings or something.

"It's nothing, I just met someone who looks a lot like you." Huo Qi said cautiously without revealing who it was.

"In such a vast world, it's not surprising that some people look alike."

"Master is right." Huo Qi immediately agreed with my idea, looking like a sycophant.
