Ninety-three

The first place I arrived at was a deep blue lake surrounded by a lush, dense forest, eerily quiet, with no living creatures for miles around.

I stood by the lake and breathed a sigh of relief. Thank goodness we weren't in a cave like the one we were in before, or I would have been scared again.

However, this lake is a bit tricky. If Luo were here, that would be great; he's the water god. Things in the water are no problem for him. Unfortunately, since the last time, Luo seems to have become engrossed in cultivation and has been in seclusion ever since.

The witch skillfully conjured a water-avoiding spell and took the lead into the water. I was just about to search my mind for the incantation for the water-avoiding spell when I suddenly remembered that when my original form was transformed into a demon by Liu Lieyu, my true form was a dragon. Liu Lieyu had a human body and a snake tail, so I should also have a snake body. But probably because I am a born deity transformed from the essence of Kuafu, I became a golden dragon.

All I need to do is transform into my true form. Why would a dragon be afraid of water?

I silently imagined my true form transforming into a golden dragon, and with a roar, I plunged into the water.

I looked down at my claws. It was quite strange to see my fair and delicate little hands transformed into dragon claws. The witch in front of me came back and glanced at me. When she saw that I had transformed into a golden dragon, a hint of amazement flashed in her eyes.

I swam a couple of times to catch up with the witch. I wasn't used to the huge dragon body, but being in the water was no different from being on land for me.

We swam down to the bottom of the lake, and after about the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, we reached the bottom. The bottom of the lake was a bright white color, and it had actually frozen over. As soon as my dragon claws touched the bottom of the lake, I felt the bone-chilling cold.

I quickly retracted my claws and floated on the surface of the water. I shook my head and realized that there wasn't a single fish in the huge lake.

"Witch, there isn't even a single fish here."

The witch finally replied, "I'm afraid he has devoured all the living beings around here."

I couldn't help but shiver; it was a little scary and a little cold.

It seems this monster is not easy to deal with, but why can't we find it?

Suddenly, the shaman picked up his staff and started gesturing as if he were doing something, and the movements even had a bit of a shamanic dance feel to them.

As the witch made her movements, a mysterious and powerful force emanated from her staff, transforming into a cloud of black mist that slowly eroded the entire lake bottom. What was just a pristine white lake bottom was now an inky black.

When the last piece of pristine white turned black, a roar came from the ground, and the entire lake began to tremble. The lake water gradually turned into pieces of ice crystals from the center of the roar.

Oh no! I quickly cast a spell and swam away. The lake bottom split in two; on one side were countless tiny ice crystals, and on my side was normal lake water.

Is that an Ice Crystal Beast? My eyes lit up as I looked at the shimmering ice crystals opposite me. It was such an adorable mythical beast! I wanted it, I wanted to take it home and raise it.

The witch seemed to sense my thoughts and spoke coldly, "The Ice Crystal Beast will never submit to you."

I looked at the witch with displeasure. Honestly, she always poured cold water on my mood with her words.

The Ice Crystal Beast emerged from the bottom of the lake, and I was able to see its appearance clearly. Its body was covered with ice crystals, and it had a pair of exceptionally bright and beautiful horns on its oval head. I could feel the energy emanating from those horns.

It seems its horn is the key, but I really can't bring myself to fight such a beautiful and exotic beast.

The Ice Crystal Beast stared intently at us with its cold blue eyes, growling a warning.
