Thirty-six

The closer we got to the miasma forest, the denser the miasma became. Fortunately, I had diligently cultivated before coming to the abyss and erected a barrier, so it wasn't too difficult for me.

The abyss was already dim, and once you entered the miasma forest, it was completely dark. Black mist enveloped the entire miasma forest, and all around were strange trees that glowed with blue light.

Jin Yu stayed close to me the whole time. I was worried that Jin Yu, being a mere little demon, might not be able to withstand the miasma of the Miasma Forest, but it turned out that Jin Yu's barrier held up perfectly without any problems.

"My lord, if you travel another hundred li to the east, you will reach the Red Demon's lair."

"good."

With Luo leading the way, the journey was thrilling but safe. Occasionally, we encountered one or two minor demons, but we wiped them out before they could even make a sound.

A large, red mountain blocked my way, and I wondered, "How did a mountain suddenly appear out of the flat ground?"

"My lord, that's the Red Demon. He's probably sleeping right now, which is the perfect time for our surprise attack." Luo glanced at him, looking completely unfazed, as if it were commonplace.

What?! I knew the Red Demon was huge, but I didn't expect it to be this big. It's practically a mountain!

"Feng Su, prepare the formation!" Although I was terrified, I still had to do what needed to be done; I couldn't afford to panic or be afraid.

Feng Su nodded and took out an ancient-looking pen from his pocket. The tip of the pen emitted specks of golden light. Feng Su quietly walked to the side of the Crimson Ghost and waved the pen around the Crimson Ghost. A huge amount of power was released, gradually isolating a space around the Crimson Ghost.

Feng Su's spellcasting process is still somewhat inferior to You's and Liu Lieyu's. I wonder if the big shots in this world are all more skilled in formations. Liu Lieyu's barrier formations are officially recognized as being of a high standard. Although You rarely uses them, we can see from the way he brought us to the abyss last time that his level is no less than Liu Lieyu's, and may even be stronger.

If Liu Lieyu didn't have the Eastern Emperor Bell as a protective artifact, he definitely wouldn't be as good as my You. I was daydreaming about space when Jin Yu next to me suddenly jumped at me, "What are you spacing out for?"

When I came to my senses, I saw that Feng Su's formation was already complete.

I quickly took the Phoenix Flute from my waist and entered battle mode. With a long cry, I transformed into a phoenix.

"Holy crap, Vermilion Bird?" Jin Yu was startled by Feng Su's words, her round almond-shaped eyes widening in surprise.

“You’ve mistaken it for a phoenix, not a vermilion bird,” I reminded Jin Yu, glancing at her reaction. “Stay close to me.”

There can be many phoenixes of the same race, while only one Vermilion Bird is a celestial spirit. The two are similar but different; the Vermilion Bird is more noble than the phoenix.

"Huh? Okay..." Jin Yu was still a little stunned, staring blankly at Feng Su with a hint of admiration in her eyes.

I quickly pulled the mentally challenged Jin Yu onto Feng Su's lap. Feng Su was initially reluctant, but after a few words of coaxing, he reluctantly carried Jin Yu on his back.

Luo is below, and I, Feng Sujinyu, am above.

I looked down at the warm, smooth Phoenix Flute in my hand, took a deep breath, and brought it to my lips to blow. The clear flute sound, through spiritual power, transformed into attacks that struck the Crimson Demon.

After all that commotion, the Red Demon finally reacted, and the fallen mountain slowly began to move, accompanied by a roar.

Luo unleashed his magical weapon, a long spear shimmering with a gentle, watery light, imbued with powerful spiritual energy. Luo's moves were fierce, simple, and brutal, each strike aimed at the Red Demon's weak points.

Enraged by Luo, Red Demon slammed his hammer down on Luo, accompanied by a deafening roar.

Luo dodged with a quick movement. Just as the Crimson Demon was about to launch another punch, my flute music severely injured the Crimson Demon. The Crimson Demon's bright red eyes glared at me, and it raised its hand to grab me and Feng Su.

But how could a slow-moving demon like Chi Gui catch up with Feng Su's speed?

Even Red Demon couldn't catch me, and Luo was even more helpless. Although he was incredibly strong, he was really a bit mentally challenged. His huge body was covered in bloody marks from our attacks. I even felt sorry for Red Demon; he was sleeping peacefully when we came up and beat him up.
