Chapter 26: Councillor Song Yuxi (asking for recommendation votes and monthly votes)

When Park Min-jeong heard what Song Yi said, she was also worried about the fate of Xinyi Pet Shop. She said anxiously, "I do know a city councilor, but he has become an official of the Blue House this year. He is so busy with work, how can I bother him? And he is not a city councilor of Seoul City now, so he should not be in charge of the renovation project of Cheonggyecheon, right?"

Song Yi was very surprised when he heard this. He didn't expect that Park Minzhen, a small shop owner, actually knew a big shot working in the Blue House. Park Minzhen said that this congressman used to be a human rights lawyer in Busan and helped Park Minzhen defend a lawsuit. The reason why Park Minzhen moved from Busan to Seoul to open a shop was also because she followed the advice of this lawyer.

After hearing this, Kim Tae-hee advised Park Min-jeong: "Since you have such a relationship, you should use it. If he comes forward to say hello for you, at least you can save your pet shop first."

Park Min-jeong shook her head. "The congressman I know is not like this. He is fair and will not be partial to his friends for their friendship."

Song Yi was shocked. A human rights lawyer from Busan, he later became an elected councillor in Seoul. Could this councillor that Park Min-jeong knew be the big shot?

Song Yi asked tentatively, "Auntie, could the friend you are talking about be Councillor Song Yuxi?"

When Park Min-jeong heard this, she was very proud. "Yes, do you also know Councillor Song? Is he so famous in Seoul?"

Song Yi laughed, "Not only do I know Councillor Song Woo-seok, I also know his assistant, Lawyer Park Dong-ho."

Upon hearing this, Park Min-jeong immediately questioned, "Young man, don't lie. I think you are only in your twenties. Song Woo-seok and Park Dong-ho are already uncles in their forties or fifties. You are not of the same generation at all. How could you have heard of their names?"

Song Yi smiled but said nothing. He certainly couldn't tell the specific reason. Song Yuxi and Park Donghao, the two best partners, became the president of South Korea one after another. Song Yuxi is also the prototype of the character in the classic Korean movie "The Attorney". In this movie, Park Donghao played Song Yuxi's assistant.

Song Yi didn't explain much and left a business card for Park Min-jeong. "Aunt Lin, my name is Song Yi, and I'm the executive director of an advertising company in Seoul. Our company was once commissioned by the city government to produce a public service advertisement for Cheonggyecheon Stream, so this Cheonggyecheon Stream renovation plan is imperative."

"If you want to keep the Xinyi Pet Shop, just take my business card and visit Councillor Song Yuxi, and someone will help you with the rest of the issues," said Song Yi.

Park Min-jeong was very alert. "You are not going to bribe Councillor Song through me to do something bad, are you? Although I want to keep my pet shop, I will not do anything illegal."

Song Yi smiled, "Aunt Lin, you don't believe me, but do you not believe in the character of Congressman Song Yuxi?" Park Minzhen was relieved when she heard that. She took the business card and planned to take some time to visit Song Yuxi.

After Song Yi and his partner bought the dog, they drove away from Dongdaemun Market. Kim Tae Hee put the puppy on the back seat, and the puppy lay down in the cage very obediently.

Song Yi said to Kim Tae Hee, "I'll take the puppy home first, and then we'll go have dinner together later."

When Kim Tae Hee heard that she was going to be a guest at Song Yi's house, she felt a little embarrassed. "This is my first time visiting OPPA's house, I should buy some gifts."

Song Yi didn't care. "No, I'm the only one at home. My parents are in China and don't live with me. Don't worry about etiquette."

Kim Tae-hee and Song Yi returned to his apartment in Ziyang-dong together. As soon as Song Yi entered the door, he first gave Kim Tae-hee a pair of new cotton slippers, and then released the puppy from the cage.

Kim Tae Hee looked around the apartment and couldn't help but sigh, "OPPA's apartment is kept very tidy, unlike my brother's bedroom. My mother had a hard time tidying it up, but it became a mess the next day."

Song Yi first brought a bottle of Samdo Water to Kim Tae Hee, "This is not my credit. I usually leave the sanitation of the apartment to the cleaning lady."

The puppy probably knew that it had arrived at its new home, and walked back and forth on the living room floor to familiarize itself with its territory. Song Yi prepared dog food and water for it.

Kim Tae Hee sat on the sofa and chatted with Song Yi, "OPPA, let's give the dog a name first."

Song Yi's apartment has two bedrooms, two living rooms and two bathrooms. The living room and dining room are connected, and there is a Western-style island between the open kitchen and the dining room. Song Yi chatted with Kim Tae Hee while washing cherries for her.

"Sure, the puppy's breed is Maltese, how about we call it Little Ma Ge?" Song Yi joked.

Jin Tae Hee was a little confused for a moment, "What Xiao Ma Ge?"

Song Yi recited Chow Yun-fat's classic lines from A Better Tomorrow, "I've waited for three years, just for an opportunity. I want to fight for it, not to prove that I'm great, but to tell everyone that I must get back what I lost!"

Kim Tae Hee was amused by Song Yi, and she leaned on the back of the sofa, laughing so hard that her body shook. "It turned out to be A Better Tomorrow. I watched this movie when I was a kid. Leslie Cheung and Chow Yun-fat were very popular in Korea."

In the 1980s and 1990s, Hong Kong films were exported to the Korean market in large quantities. It was not surprising that Kim Tae-hee had watched "A Better Tomorrow". The first episode of the Korean drama "Reply 1988" began with five children sitting together watching the movie "A Better Tomorrow".

Kim Tae Hee sat up straight, "Actually, if you say this line in Korean, it's not funny. But if you say this line in Cantonese, it's very funny. You speak Cantonese just like I speak Chinese."

Song Yi thought it made sense. "How about we give the puppy an English name, Black?"

Jin Tai looked at the puppy and was very confused, "But the dog is obviously white, why is it called Black?"

"Didn't Aunt Lin say that everyone likes to raise Maltese dogs? In order to distinguish them from other families' dogs, they should be given a unique name. And Black's eyes are black, so there's nothing wrong with naming him Black." Song Yi felt that there was nothing wrong with his idea.

Kim Tae Hee patted the puppy's head sympathetically, "Poor Black."

Song Yi began to train the puppy, calling the puppy's name Black first, and then rewarding it with dog food after it responded. Song Yi would also hold the puppy's front legs, touch the puppy's head and praise it, "Good dog." After a few times, the puppy naturally accepted its new name Black. Kim Tae Hee asked Song Yi, "OPPA, if you go back to China to work, will you really leave Black to Aunt Lin to take care of?"

Song Yi nodded. "Yes, I can't leave it to my friends in Seoul to take care of it, right? How about I leave the car and the door key to you, and you come over to help me feed it every day?"

As soon as Song Yi finished speaking, he felt that his idea was a bit whimsical, "Forget it, this will trouble you too much."

Kim Tae Hee answered seriously, "If I'm not busy at school, I can help you feed him and take Black out for a walk. But I have to start preparing for the exams next, so I may not have that much time."

Song Yi's voice became much softer. "No, I can't let you run back and forth between school and the apartment. It's too much work."

Kim Tae-hee found that Song Yi did not eat the fruit, but looked at her gently. She started to feel shy again, her ears turned red, her expression was a little unnatural, and she didn't know where to put her hands.

Seeing that the atmosphere between the two was becoming more and more ambiguous and the temperature was getting higher and higher, Kim Tae Hee had to find a topic to cool down the situation: "OPPA, since you want to meet Councillor Song Woo Seok, why don't you go visit him yourself?"

"Large conglomerates like Samsung Group, Hyundai Group, LG, and Lotte naturally support conservatives during elections, while Congressman Song Woo-seok belongs to the progressive camp, and the current president is also a progressive."

"President Chen of our Shinhan Media is the grandson of the former chairman of Samsung Group. If I take the initiative to visit Song Woo-seok, he may not even give me the chance to come in and talk."

"Instead of going to their door and getting turned down, I might as well ask Park Min-jeong to help pass on my business card. This will give Song Woo-sik enough time to investigate my background. Once he knows that I'm actually Chinese, he might be able to put aside his pride and be interested in contacting me for a meeting." Song Yi explained.

After listening to Song Yi's explanation, Jin Taixi knew that Song Yi was right. She looked at Song Yi and couldn't help but put her hands on Song Yi's forehead.

Perhaps it was the experience of holding hands and shopping in Pet Street that made Kim Tae-hee a lot bolder, and she will now take the initiative to contact Song Yi.

Kim Tae-hee put her middle finger close to Song Yi's temple and began to give Song Yi a head massage. Kim Tae-hee's tone was very gentle, "My father is very tired at work, so I give him a head massage to relax. Song Yi OPPA, you must be tired too, right?" Kim Tae-hee's tone was a little distressed.

Song Yi closed his eyes and enjoyed it, but he didn't forget to take advantage of Kim Tae Hee, "How can I feel tired when I have such a beautiful, cute and sensible 'daughter' to massage me every day?"

Upon hearing this, Jin Taixi was furious and stopped pressing immediately. She picked up the pillow on the sofa and threw it at Song Yi, "Go to hell, you stinky man!"

Song Yi dodged and apologized, "I was just imitating your father's tone of voice. I didn't mean to take advantage of you. I apologize to you! Classmate Jin Tae Hee! How about this, I will cook a table of dishes for you to express my sincerity, okay?"

When Jin Tae-hee heard this, her expression softened a little, "Huh! This joke is not funny at all!"

Song Yi knew that Jin Taixi might be really angry, so he didn't dare to say anything flirtatious again. He apologized sincerely, "I was wrong. I swear, there won't be a next time! How about this, I'll call Xianzhen and ask her to have dinner with me tonight. You two haven't seen each other for a long time, how about you all get together?"

Kim Tae Hee looked skeptical, "Hyun Jin? Are you familiar with her? Has she been to your apartment before?"

Song Yi didn't know whether to laugh or cry. He felt that he had gotten into trouble. He raised his hands to prove his innocence, "No! I meant to call and ask if she has time. I swear to God, you are the only girl I have ever brought home as a guest."

Two updates are done. There will be no recommendations next week. Please vote so that I can move up a few spots on the new book list!
