Chapter 481: Driving Madam Lin Out of the Palace
Caixia lowered her head and mumbled without saying a word.
Su Yue knew something was wrong as soon as she saw this. She asked, "What happened in the palace while I was away?"
Caixia raised her head, looked at Su Yue with a tearful look, and choked up, "Miss, it's nothing, it's all because of my uselessness."
Su Yue's eyes flashed. Caixia was becoming more and more unreasonable. She even dared not to answer her questions. It seemed that she was too nice to her.
It’s better not to keep this girl around.
She said coldly, "I just came back and I'm tired and hungry. Please go to the kitchen and bring me some food to Lingxiao Courtyard."
"Yes, miss."
Caixia sensed the chill from Su Yue, and quickly put away her sad look and went to the kitchen.
"Princess, you're back. Where's the prince?"
When Su Yue was about to return to Lingxiao Courtyard, Jiang Bo came running over.
"He went directly to the Imperial Palace. Jiang Bo will follow me to Lingxiao Courtyard."
When Jiang Bo heard that Murong had left the palace, he felt relieved and said respectfully, "Yes, Princess."
Su Yue returned to Lingxiao Courtyard. The maids, servants and old women in the courtyard came to greet her. She waved her hand to let them leave and asked Jiang Bo to follow her to the living room.
"Uncle Jiang, nothing happened in the mansion while we were away, right?"
As soon as she entered the living room, Su Yue sat down and asked.
Jiang Bo bowed and stood before her, saying respectfully, "Princess, there are no major issues, but there are still some minor issues."
"explain."
"Yes, Princess, it's Madam Lin from the guest house. She was very quiet a while ago, but for some reason, she's been acting out of character these past few days. She keeps hanging out with the servants in the mansion. She doesn't say much, but every time she does, the servants get upset, especially Caixia. I've seen her secretly crying several times, but she won't say anything when I ask her."
Su Yue's eyes flashed with coldness when she heard this. Jiang Bo, who was standing in front of her, couldn't help but shudder. It had only been a month since they last saw each other, but the princess's aura had grown again.
"Uncle Jiang, go call Madam Lin over. I want to see what she's up to in the mansion."
"Yes, Princess, I will go right away."
Uncle Jiang bowed and left, then hurried to the guest house to call Madam Lin.
Mrs. Lin was coaxing her son to sleep. She was dressed in luxurious clothes, with gold hairpins in her hair. She looked energetic, with the corners of her mouth raised and a pair of bright eyes sparkling with brilliance. She was completely different from the timid look she had a month ago.
"Mrs. Lin, Uncle Jiang wants to see you."
At this moment, a maid came in and reported.
Mrs. Lin was stunned for a moment, then said to the old woman, "Please keep an eye on my son for me. I'll be back soon."
The old woman curled her lips at her. She was just a guest staying at the prince's mansion, but she acted like the hostess. She didn't know who gave her the courage. If the princess came back and saw her like this, she would be in trouble.
The old woman snorted softly, and after Madam Lin stood up, she sat down to help her watch over her son.
She was a well-mannered servant in the palace, so no one bothered to argue with her.
Mrs. Lin left the house and saw Uncle Jiang standing in the yard. She raised her chin and looked at him and asked, "Uncle Jiang, what do you want to talk to me about?"
She used to call herself a common woman or a lady, but now she calls herself me.
Seeing her domineering look, Jiang Bo showed no expression. He just frowned and said, "The princess is back. The princess invites you."
When Madam Lin heard that Su Yue had returned, her expression changed. Her originally arrogant demeanor immediately turned into a respectful one. She immediately said in a gentle voice, "Then please let Uncle Jiang lead the way."
In the entire palace, except for Lingxiao Courtyard and the study where Su Yue and her partner lived, there was no place she had not been to, but she still did not dare to go to Lingxiao Courtyard alone.
Jiang Bo nodded and led the way.
They soon arrived at Lingxiao Courtyard, and Jiang Bo took her to the living room.
"I, a commoner, greet the princess."
When Madam Lin saw that Su Yue had indeed returned, she was delighted and immediately stepped forward to pay her respects.
Su Yue looked at Madam Lin coldly, and when she saw her outfit, her heart sank.
Madam Lin felt uncomfortable being stared at, as if Su Yue saw through her. She hurriedly lowered her head, wondering why the princess was looking at her like that?
What did she do wrong that disgusted the princess?
Or are the servants in the palace gossiping in front of her?
Humph, if that's the case, when she stays in the palace and works as the princess's steward, she'll give those servants a good beating for daring to gossip about her.
Su Yue said coldly, "I heard that Madam Lin is doing quite well in the palace. How come you really treat the palace as your own home?"
Madam Lin was startled when she heard Su Yue's tone. She immediately knelt down with a plop and kowtowed three times: "I dare not!"
She gritted her teeth and thought to herself that someone was gossiping in front of the princess. When she found out who it was, she would tear that person's mouth apart.
Su Yue's cold voice rang out: "What are you afraid of? If someone didn't know you, they would think you were the mistress of the Li Wang Mansion. What's wrong? Could it be that you have other thoughts? It seems that the Li Wang Mansion can't keep you."
Madam Lin was shocked and asked in horror, "What does this mean, Princess? How could a common woman have such thoughts?"
Su Yue snorted coldly: "It's meaningless. I called you here to tell you that the palace can no longer accommodate a big Buddha like you. You can leave the palace now, but you can't take anything with you except your son."
Madam Lin was shocked and said in disbelief, "What? Princess, didn't you say you would keep me?"
Su Yue said coldly, "I did have this plan before, but it also depends on your performance. It's just that your performance has disappointed me so much. As soon as we left, you really treated the palace as your own home and dared to act like the hostess in the palace. How dare we keep you like this?"
There was nothing she couldn't understand about Madam Lin's behavior. She thought that if she kept her by her side to do things, she would no longer be treated as an outsider.
How could the king allow an ignorant woman to act wildly in the palace?
"Princess, I know I was wrong. Please don't drive me and my son away. We have nowhere to go in Xifeng Country. Please, Princess, keep us. I will never dare to go against your wishes."
When Mrs. Lin heard that she was going to be driven away, she became furious and immediately kowtowed to beg Su Yue.
Su Yue taunted, "Whether you have a place to go or not has nothing to do with me. The Prince's Palace doesn't want someone who takes over the reins. Go away."
"princess……"
When Madam Lin heard Su Yue's heartless words, she collapsed on the ground, tears streaming down her face. She looked so miserable.
She was screaming in her heart, how could this be? Didn’t they agree to keep her? Why did they change their mind?
"Uncle Jiang."
Su Yue shouted towards the door. She hated being morally blackmailed the most. She didn't run a charity, and she couldn't tolerate people who didn't know their identities.
