Chapter 387 I Want to Take Them Home (2/2)

Su Miaomiao finally realized that she had never thought of this before.

They were all leaving, and she couldn't leave her second uncle and the others here any longer.

"Dad, what are they going to do? Re-cremate the body?" Su Miaomiao's voice was much softer.

"Yes." Tang Chunlan nodded, "This is the only way to take them away with us right now."

Su Miaomiao looked in the direction of the back mountain.

"Mom, I'll go take a look."

"Okay, be careful and let Ayuan accompany you." Tang Chunlan glanced at Lu Xiuyuan.

It was late at night and Tang Chunlan was a little worried about Su Miaomiao.

"Okay." Lu Xiuyuan nodded quickly.

The two of them then walked towards the back mountain.

When they arrived at the tomb of the second uncle of the Huo family, Huo Jianguo and Huo Chengwang's eyes were a little red.

"Dad." Su Miaomiao walked forward and called out.

"Miaomiao, why are you here? Has the village chief signed?" Huo Jianguo wiped the tears from the corners of his eyes.

"Signed." Su Miaomiao nodded and looked at the tombstone in front of her. "Is Second Uncle planning to cremate him?"

"Yeah." Huo Jianguo nodded and said hoarsely, "I can't leave your second uncle and the others here. If we leave, there's no guarantee those villagers won't do something to them. I don't want them to rest in peace even after death."

"Then I'll help you." Su Miaomiao said in a deep voice.

"No, you should go back. It's inconvenient so late at night." Huo Jianguo shook his head.

"It's okay. If we need to cremate, we need to prepare a lot of firewood. If we have more people, we can do it faster." Su Miaomiao said slowly.

In the end, Huo Jianguo failed to persuade Su Miaomiao, so he could only leave her and Lu Xiuyuan.

A lot of firewood was needed for cremation, so Su Miaomiao and the others didn't report to Huang Fengmao and the others, and went directly to the nearby mountains to chop firewood.

By daybreak, they had already built three bonfires, and after paying their respects to Uncle Huo and his family, they dug up the grave and opened the coffin.

As the sun rose, three piles of firewood lit at the same time.

Huo Chengwang looked at the raging fire in front of him, tears falling uncontrollably.

The fire also attracted Huang Fengmao and others. He looked at the dug-up grave nearby and understood instantly.

He didn't go forward, but just stood by until the firewood burned out. Huo Chengwang and the others packed up all the ashes and prepared to go back with the jar.

"Are you going to take them home with you?" Huang Fengmao spoke to them with a smile.

Huo Chengwang held the jar in his arms and stared at Huang Fengmao. If he hadn't retained his last bit of sanity, he would have wanted to kill him.

But he couldn't do that. His uncle had gone through so much trouble to transfer their identities. If he caused any trouble again at this juncture, everything they did might be in vain.

He has to endure it!

But sooner or later he would come back and make them pay for what they had done.

Huang Fengmao felt a little uneasy under Huo Chengwang's gaze and subconsciously avoided his gaze.

"The villagers know that you are leaving, so they specially prepared a farewell banquet for you." Huang Fengmao said with a smile.

"Farewell banquet? Didn't you say that for lowly people like us, eating one more bite of rice is a waste of food?" Huo Chengwang snorted coldly.
