Chapter 103 Get the Things Back (2/2)

When I saw there was food inside, my mouth almost watered.

"Village chief, there is food here!" The man excitedly came to the village chief with the bag.

The village chief lowered his head and looked quickly. There was another steamed bread and three cakes in the bag.

The village chief's eyes sparkled green when he saw this. He swallowed hard a few times and then looked at Su Miaomiao.

"For safety reasons, we need to take these things to a local hospital for inspection."

"Village chief, these are just a few steamed buns. They can't hide anything at all." Huo Jianye spoke immediately.

"You say you can't hide it, so you can't hide it? What if you stuffed something illegal in this steamed bun?" Those young men were not as patient as the village chief.

"That's right, don't forget your original identity. You are transformed animals, and you are only fit to eat leaves and grass roots!" another person echoed.

When Huo Jianye heard this, he couldn't help but clench his hands at his sides into fists.

"Village chief, my eldest brother only brought these few things. You also know that we have a big family. If you take away all the things, our family will not be able to survive." Huo Jianye stared at the village chief.

The village chief's eyes swept over Huo Wenbo and Huo Jianguo. The two men looked quite strong and had proof in their hands.

If he really took all the things away, and the two of them got angry and started fighting with them, they might not be able to defeat them with their physical condition.

The village chief thought about it, and finally took out two steamed buns from the bag and threw them to Huo Jianye.

"I can only leave this much for you." After saying this, he left with his men without caring whether Huo Jianye and the others were interested or not.

Huo Wentai wanted to chase after her, but Su Miaomiao stopped him.

"Those things were originally meant for them." Su Miaomiao said.

"But those are enough for our family to eat for a few days." Huo Wentai felt very distressed.

A steamed bun can be soaked into porridge, and each person can eat a few mouthfuls and it can last a whole day.

How could I give it to them for nothing?

"You will have to stay in the village in the future. If you don't give them something now, they will come here often later." Su Miaomiao reminded them.

Huo Wentai finally regained his senses at this point.

"But that's all the money you saved with great effort..." Huo Wentai said in a hoarse voice.

He had never thought how precious food was before, but after this period of time, he finally understood what his grandfather had said about the years when there was nothing to eat.

"No, you are all still very weak right now. If they unite the entire village and come here, I'm afraid you won't even be able to keep those things." Su Miaomiao comforted Huo Wentai.

Huo Wentai immediately looked up at the supplies hidden under the thatch and felt a little sad.

"You guys stay at home and have a rest. My brother and I are going out for a while." Su Miaomiao comforted Huo Wentai and the others and gave Huo Wenbo a look.

"What are you going to do?" Huo Jianye asked.

"Nothing, let's just look around." Su Miaomiao said slowly.

"This village is nothing but dirt and mountains, there's nothing to see." Although Huo Jianye said this, he did not stop there. He also warned, "Be careful, don't conflict with the villagers if you meet them."

"I know." Su Miaomiao nodded and took Huo Wenbo out of the thatched hut.

"Little sister, are you planning to steal those foods?" Huo Wenbo asked in a low voice as soon as they went out.
