Chapter 59 Astonishment (1/2)

Emperor Yan: "???"

Emperor Yan, seated on his supreme throne, was momentarily stunned by these inexplicable reports.

The next second.

The warden, the only one to escape from the Dali Temple prison, knelt down with a thud and shouted in fear, "Your Majesty! Zhou Cheng led ten guards into the prison and kidnapped Grand Tutor Cheng!"

"Of the three hundred prison guards and three hundred elite guards inside, not a single one survived!"

"Of the entire prison, only I, your humble servant, survived. Everyone else is dead! Their bodies were torn to pieces!"

Emperor Yan: "?!!"

What nonsense are the warden and the deputy envoy of the Embroidered Uniform Guard talking about?

All the guards and jailers who were in charge of the prison died; none of them survived.

Emperor Yan's expression suddenly froze. He wanted to slam his hand on the dragon throne and loudly rebuke the two for talking nonsense, but when he met their eyes, which still held the lingering fear, he suddenly froze.

An ominous premonition began to grow!

at last.

The imperial guards at the city gates of the capital fell to their knees with a thud, crying out in a sorrowful and dazed voice, "Your Majesty! One hundred elite guards at the city gates, plus six hundred reserve guards, have all... been tragically killed."

"If it weren't for my subordinates risking their lives to protect me and help me escape from there, I would probably be a corpse by now!"

"The Zhou family... they're absolutely terrifying!"

The words fell.

The audience erupted in uproar.

The ministers who rushed to the hall upon hearing the news felt as if their hearts were being squeezed tightly by a hand. Their expressions changed from disbelief to blankness, then to shock, and finally to complete stunned silence.

What are these three people talking about?

That fool Zhou Cheng, who only knows how to play with women, single-handedly inflicted a crushing defeat on the Embroidered Uniform Guard, prison guards, and Imperial Guards an hour ago, leaving none alive!

How could this be possible! They wouldn't even dare to imagine such a situation.

Emperor Yan was clearly the most frightened. He gripped the armrests of the dragon throne tightly and coldly questioned, "Insolence! How dare you lie to me!"

"What Zhou Cheng is so terrifying? He's just a brat, the son of a traitor."

"You nearly two thousand men couldn't even defeat an ant who is neither literate nor martial? I want to hear the truth! Tell me, what really happened! Did you let Zhou Cheng go?"

"And then they conspired together to deceive me with such a ridiculous excuse?"

The deputy commander of the Embroidered Uniform Guard, overwhelmed with grief, cried out, "Your Majesty, every word I uttered is true!"

The warden, still in shock, cried out, "Your Majesty, Zhou Cheng possesses a weapon capable of shattering iron gates into pieces, and able to kill enemies from a distance of one or two miles without them noticing!"

"Even... even the corpse only had sudden wounds, not even any hidden weapons!"

The Imperial Guard Captain was on the verge of tears, swearing to the heavens: "Miss Zhou and Madam Zhou, along with eight others, swept across the entire area. A dark object was thrown down, and everything within a fifty-meter radius was destroyed!"

"My soldiers were blown to pieces by that thing, burned all over their bodies, and had no power to resist. Not to mention that strange killing weapon, one bang and a life is gone."

"The sound of banging is still ringing in my head and ears, no matter how far away I am."

"His Majesty!"

"If you and your ministers do not believe us, go to the vicinity of the prison and you will see for yourselves. If we have uttered even the slightest lie, we will beg for forgiveness with our lives!"

Upon hearing this, Emperor Yan's heart clenched.

His pupils dilated slightly, and his breathing became rapid. He subconsciously stood up, pointed at the three people kneeling on the ground, his lips trembling and his body shaking.
