Chapter 14 Wang Dahu
"Tell me! Who are you? Why are you here?" The man's voice sounded again.
Now Ye Li can confirm that it is not an illusion.
She stiffened and slowly turned around. A man in white camouflage uniform was holding a gun with the muzzle pointed at her.
The man's left leg was missing a part of the calf, and his left hand was supporting himself with a makeshift crutch made of a wooden stick.
Although the man looked pale and thin, he still exuded an aura that could not be underestimated!
"I, I..." Ye Li's mind raced. "I'm just a little girl. There's nothing to eat at home, so I came to the city to find something to eat. Big brother, please don't kill me. I have an old grandmother at home. If I die, she won't be able to live."
"You're lying. Who would dare to risk their life and run to the city alone these days? Do you think your life is too long?" The camouflaged man didn't believe Ye Li's words at all.
"Who, who said I came here alone?" Ye Li said, "Of course I came to the city with my friends, but I got separated from them and got lost for a while."
The camouflaged man looked at Ye Li warily. She was wearing a loose sports suit and a pair of mud-free sneakers. She had a flashlight tied to her wrist and her short hair was casually tied behind her head. Her eyes were bright and her limbs were slender and strong.
"Have you ever had your hair cut?"
"Ah?" Ye Li was asked inexplicably. She didn't understand what the camouflage man meant.
The camouflage man said sternly, "Answer me, did you have long hair before?"
"Uh, yes, how did you know?" As Ye Li spoke, two dimples were faintly visible on her cheeks.
A hint of joy appeared on the camouflage man's face. He took two steps forward and said, "It's you. I finally found you."
"I don't think we know each other," Ye Li stepped back. Was this man with a gun a bad guy? She observed her surroundings out of the corner of her eye, ready to escape.
"I recognized you," the camouflage man said, dancing with joy. "You have long hair, dimples, and fair skin. It must be you."
"Brother, I know I was wrong. I shouldn't have come into your territory. I'll return all my things to you." Ye Li was about to take off his backpack. "Please be magnanimous and forgive me this time."
"Little girl, come on, come home with me," the camouflage man came forward and pulled Ye Li's arm. He said, "As long as you come home with me, you can have as many of these things as you want at home."
"Let me go, let me go," Ye Li slapped the camouflage man's hand that was holding her arm. She said in fear, "I don't want to go back with you. I'm warning you, if you don't let go, I won't be polite."
"Hey, just listen to me! I'm not trying to hurt you. I'm taking you to live a good life." The camouflage man didn't mind Ye Li's attack. He said with a smile, "I didn't expect that I, Wang Dahu, would have a lucky day. Haha, if I take you back with me, it would be a great achievement."
"I'm not going back with you, let me go!" Ye Li struggled hard, almost biting.
But the man in front of him who called himself Wang Dahu was too strong, and Ye Li couldn't get rid of him at all.
"You little girl, be obedient, I am not a bad person."
"You are the bad guy!" Ye Li said, staring at Wang Dahu with big eyes.
Wang Dahu dragged Ye Li into the restaurant. Ye Li took the opportunity to hug a pillar nearby and refused to let go.
The two were arguing when suddenly, there were two bangs and sparks flew in the dim restaurant.
Ye Li felt a pain on her cheek. She reached out and touched it. It was bleeding! She had just been injured by a stray bullet.
Wang Dahu glared at Ye Li, then shouted at the man approaching with a gun, "Damn it! Who told you to shoot?"
Ye Li looked in the direction of the voice and saw a bearded man walking out of the darkness into the light.
