Chapter 18 Major Decision
After doing all this, Ye Li left the private hospital with his bags and went back to the elevator.
The third floor was too dark, and Ye Li's flashlight was out of battery, so the light became very dim. She accidentally took the wrong road and walked into a shop.
When she bumped into the furry thing, she shone the flashlight on it and looked carefully, only to find that it was a furry doll. After checking other things in the shop, Ye Li belatedly realized that this was a baby shop.
The things in the baby store are still the same as before the disaster. In the end times, these things are the most despised.
"Bottles, diapers, toys, and even baby clothes," Ye Li couldn't help but find it funny. Did God know that she was pregnant and deliberately prepare these for her?
Ye Li smiled until the smile on her face faded. She touched her still flat belly and began to hesitate. If she stayed in the safe house and didn't leave, how long could she survive?
Ye Li carefully considered the situation. Given the current growth of her crops, she was sure to have a bumper harvest. How much could she possibly eat by herself? She had just considered taking Wang Dahu to the safe house. Wasn't there room for a child?
And how much can a child eat? Moreover, this is your own child.
Ye Li took out the bottle of abortion medicine from her pocket, squeezed it tightly, hesitated, and then put it on the shelf beside her. She freed up some of the unused medicines and filled her handbag with bottles, diapers and toys, taking as much as she could.
When she thought of the upcoming life, the corners of Ye Li's mouth rose involuntarily. It had been two months, and she had been lonely enough. From now on, there was someone to accompany her.
Ye Li packed a lot of things, and finally picked up a doll, and dragged them all into the elevator. When she inserted the key, she seemed to think of something, so she ran back to the private hospital, rummaged through the drawers, found a few parenting books, and then returned to the elevator.
The elevator went up to the 48th floor, and then Ye Li returned to her safe house from the hidden elevator in the office on the 48th floor.
Ye Li put everything on the ground and put the bookshelves that were blocking the elevator entrance back to their original places.
Then, she sat on the ground and checked her spoils one by one. After looking for a while, her stomach began to growl. She had been messing around downstairs for so long that the food she had eaten when she set out had long been digested.
Ye Li touched her belly and said with a smile, "Be good, baby. Mommy will go cook right away."
Ye Li got up and went to the kitchen. After washing rice and cooking, he went to the balcony and pulled radishes and cabbages from the vegetable garden, and also picked a large basket of peppers.
"Radish soup, stir-fried cabbage, and tiger-skin chili peppers," Ye Li counted her dishes. She glanced sideways at the three noisy chickens trapped in the cage, swallowed greedily, and then shook her head fiercely. "No, these chickens will lay eggs and hatch chicks later. Hold back, hold back! You can't eat them!"
Ye Li turned around and saw her sweet potato field, so she picked a handful of very tender sweet potato leaves, put them together, then picked up the basket and went back to the kitchen to cook.
In the kitchen, Ye Li was busy running around, and outside the kitchen window, the sun was slowly setting and sinking into the distant sea.
It was dark and Ye Li's meal was finally ready.
She fed the chickens, then drew the curtains, turned on the lights, sat at the dining table, and prepared to have dinner.
Although it lacked some seasonings, it was still delicious and tasty. It was the best meal she had had in recent days, except for the day when she ate eggs.
"Let's eat!" Ye Li said to himself and started eating.
