Chapter 4: Unexpected Discovery

Chapter 4: Unexpected Discovery

The lounge is so small that there is only an even smaller wardrobe to hide in.

Ye Li curled up, hid in the closet, and pulled up the door.

She hugged her knees, leaned back, and pulled her suit pieces straight to cover herself. She even deliberately controlled her breathing.

Don't find me, don't find me!

Ye Li prayed madly in his heart.

The door of the lounge was smashed open with a bang, and the zombies rushed in, wandering around the lounge, looking for Ye Li.

Bang!

A zombie raised his hand and bumped into the wardrobe where Ye Li was hiding.

Ye Li trembled and curled up into a ball. It was over!

She shrank back and moved to the corner, but the wardrobe was so small, where could she hide?

Suddenly, Ye Li's arm touched a hard object, and then with a ding, the wall of the closet behind him opened, and there was a small elevator hidden inside the closet.

Ye Li didn't have time to think too much. She crawled into the elevator and quickly pressed the up button. The elevator door closed quickly, and in the last second before it closed, the zombies smashed open the wardrobe.

But it was too late, the elevator had already gone up.

After escaping danger, Ye Li discovered that the dim light in this small elevator was still on. Didn't the whole city have no electricity? Why was the light on in this elevator?

Ye Li also discovered that there was a key inserted under the button on the elevator. This was an elevator that required a key to start.

Suddenly, there was another ding sound, and the elevator door opened, revealing a dark room in Ye Li's sight.

Ye Li supported herself on the wall and slowly stood up. She reached out and pulled out the elevator key. The elevator instantly lost its brakes and even the lights went out.

Everything around me darkened.

The room outside the elevator was an unknown space, and it was unknown whether there would be other zombies. Although Ye Li was afraid, he mustered up the courage and stepped into the house.

She clenched her fists in front of her chest and walked slowly into the room.

It was not yet completely dark outside, and Ye Li could vaguely see things. There was a switch on the wall. She reached over and pressed the switch with a try-it attitude. With a click, the whole room lit up.

Ye Li saw the two dead skeletons hugging each other on the bed. She was so scared that her legs went weak and she fell to the ground with a thud. However, she quickly calmed down. Dead skeletons were much better than zombies. At least they would not take her life.

Ye Li quickly looked around the room again and found no trace of zombies. Only then did she relax and stagger to her feet.

This is a suite with a bedroom and a living room connected together, a separate kitchen, bathroom and storage room, and a large garden balcony, but all the flowers in the flowerbed have wilted.

The only way to get here is through a small elevator.

Looking out from the balcony, you can see the entire city. This is a suite on the top floor, which is much higher than the other buildings.

The kitchen in the suite is large and fully equipped with everything, including vacuum-sealed food.

The expiration date hadn't expired yet. The food storage technology in 2132 was much more advanced than that in her world.

Ye Li tried to turn on the faucet, and clean water actually flowed out. Ye Li, who was extremely thirsty from running, immediately scooped up some water with her hands and drank it. The water tasted very sweet, much better than the tap water she drank in 2018.

Then she tried the cooking pot and the frying stove and found that they were both usable.

Why is this happening?

Ye Li tried to discover the principle, and finally found an extra-large water reservoir and solar panels on the garden balcony, which was a small self-sufficient system.
