Chapter 333 Dead Chess
The friendly young man walked up to Ye Li and asked, "Do you have a clock?"
"Yes." Ye Li raised his hand and pointed at the clock hanging on the wall.
The friendly young man checked the watch on his wrist, his face suddenly darkened, and then he walked outside.
"Hey, the time is right. It's already half an hour late."
"Wait a little longer, there might be a delay."
"Delayed? Air support from the main city of the Holy City is here, and they were about to search here, but they didn't show up."
"What do you mean?"
The kind-looking young man said, "What we mean is that we are a dead chess piece."
"Impossible. When we came here, he clearly promised to rescue us. He couldn't let us die here. We all agreed to achieve great things together and live like gods."
The friendly young man sat down on the steps. He looked out at the city in the distance and said with a smile, "Life here is almost like that of a god, isn't it?"
Another young man turned around blankly, looking at the golden rice fields before him, and suddenly burst into tears. He said, "But we have destroyed this place, and our future too."
The two young men looked at each other, then sat there in silence, staring at something unknown.
Ye Li listened to their words and guessed that the explosion in District 3 today might be related to them, but Ye Li only had a vague understanding of other things.
Suddenly, two loud bangs were heard. Ye Li was startled and ran outside. The two young men fell in a pool of blood, dead!
It was their own guns that killed them, they killed themselves!
Is it because of despair?
"Mom!" Xiaomu and Xixi poked their heads out from upstairs, their faces filled with worry, fearing that something had happened to Ye Li.
"I'm fine." Ye Li waved.
"Put your hands up!" Suddenly, someone's voice sounded behind me.
Ye Li turned her head and looked over, startled. When did so many people come? The soldiers from the Holy City lurked over and surrounded her.
Ye Li raised his hands and said in horror, "Don't shoot! I'm not a bad guy."
The leading captain walked forward to check on the two young men.
Ye Li said: "This is none of my business. They shot themselves. I am just an ordinary resident living here. They broke into my home."
"Take out your ID card!" said the leading captain.
"This is really none of my business. It has nothing to do with me." Ye Li pretended to be a frightened woman.
"Identity badge!" The leading captain was ruthless and didn't care that the person he was scolding was a weak woman.
The captain's men stepped forward one after another, pointing their loaded guns at Ye Li.
Ye Li had no choice but to take out her ID card.
"Muxi?" The leading captain took a look at the ID card and then threw it to the attendant beside him. The attendant took the ID card and scanned it on a machine in his hand. Immediately, all the information about Muxi on the ID card appeared on the machine.
"Captain, this person is very strange," the attendant said. "She was originally assigned to our District 3, but Miss Reichman transferred her to the main city. There's no indication of a transfer back, so why is she in District 3 now?"
The leading captain glanced at Ye Li and immediately ordered, "Capture him."
Two soldiers stepped forward and grabbed Ye Li. Ye Li knew he couldn't resist, so he just said weakly, "I couldn't stand Miss Reichman, so I ran away here. I didn't do anything to harm the Holy City."
The leading captain said, "We will find out the truth ourselves." Then he walked into the house.
Xiaomu! Xixi! Ye Li's pupils shrank. If they were discovered, everything would be over.
