Chapter 200 Countering Moves

After leaving the solar system, Zhang Bairen did not revert to his original enormous size.

Because the strength of one's power has nothing to do with the size of one's Dharma form.

Unless, of course, the most orthodox methods of celestial phenomena are used.

When Buddha saw Zhang Bairen, he did not revert to his original enormous size.

Instead, it transformed into a sixteen-foot-tall golden body, perfectly suited for battle.

In Journey to the West, the Buddha's form is a golden body that is sixteen feet tall.

The text mentions the sixteen-foot-tall golden body three times: when Wukong was brought down from the Heavenly Palace, when the Buddha statue appeared to Xuanzang, and when the peacock swallowed the Buddha after he attained enlightenment in the snowy mountains.

These three instances established the power and unique characteristics of the sixteen-foot-tall golden statue.

In other words, within Buddhism, only the Buddha Tathagata possesses a golden body that is sixteen feet tall.

This method is equivalent to the identity of the Buddha.

Looking at the golden body that stood before him, Zhang Bairen thought of a poem that the God of Longevity wrote for the Buddha in Journey to the West.

The poem reads: "Green lotus and golden elixir are offered to Shakyamuni, the Tathagata's lifespan is as vast as the sands of the Ganges. Peace and happiness are the brocade of the Three Vehicles, health and longevity are the flowers of the Nine Grades. The true Dharma King is in the Gate of No Form, the immortals are in the Heaven of Form and Emptiness. All under Heaven and Earth call him the ancestor, the sixteen-foot golden body brings him boundless blessings and longevity."

The 3.2-meter-tall golden body, filled with an unstoppable, perfect golden nature, made Zhang Bairen's mood become a little more cautious.

Although, the Buddha's energy level is only at the level of a star.

However, its own energy level is at the star cluster level.

However, in this world of immortals and myths, energy level is not the only factor.

Not to mention the supernatural spells that can amplify power, there are also various magical treasures that allow one to fight against opponents of higher levels.

This is especially important in the inherited world of Investiture of the Gods.

Zhang Bairen, who possesses opportunities from all realms, is extremely confident in his supernatural abilities.

However, it does have some shortcomings in terms of magical artifacts.

Because currently, only a few of the more than twenty Zhang Bairen are in the powerful world.

In the Marvel universe, there are only artifacts at the level of the Celestial Father.

In the DC universe, there is only the Green Lantern Ring.

In the world of Doupo, his martial arts level is slightly inferior.

The world of "Covering the Sky" is still on Earth, and magical treasures are in short supply.

In the world of the Tomb of the Gods, the destiny has been set, and no trouble has been caused.

Therefore, Zhang Bairen's biggest weakness lies in his magical artifacts.

It's a real shame that there aren't any powerful magic weapons that allow players to fight beyond their level.

Just as Zhang Bairen was lamenting the lack of magical artifacts to amplify his power, a new change occurred once again on the sixteen-foot-tall golden body of the Buddha.

The most desperately needed magical treasure for Zhang Bairen was brought out by the Buddha.

Moreover, it's not even a magic weapon!

Umbrella, fish, bottle, lotus snail, knot, banner, wheel.

The Eight Dharma Implements of Buddhism, the Eight Treasures of the Tathagata.

These are the canopy (treasure umbrella), goldfish, auspicious vase (treasure vase), wondrous lotus, right-spiraling white conch shell, vajra knot, victory banner, and golden wheel.

The umbrella symbolizes the Buddha's pure virtue covering everything; the Vajradhatu Mandala is represented by the white umbrella, and the Garbhadhatu Mandala by the red umbrella.

Because of the Buddhist legend that Amitabha Buddha transformed into a fish to save all sentient beings, fish are regarded as auspicious creatures by believers.

In Buddhist scriptures, the vase is translated as "kundika," which is a general term for objects such as flower vases. It is revered as a Buddhist implement or a Dharma implement. The Amitabha Sutra states, "There is a precious vase that holds all kinds of light." In Esoteric Buddhism, the vase that holds the water used for initiation vows is called a precious vase.

The body of the Buddha's Treasure Vase is made of red copper and contains various treasures. The neck of the vase is tied with a colorful rope.

The flower, also known as the wondrous lotus, is a major symbol in Buddhism. The blue lotus, in particular, has long, slender branches and leaves, with a clear distinction between blue and white, resembling the eyes of an adult, and is thus metaphorically referred to as the "Buddha's eye" in Buddhism.

The right-spiraling white conch, also known as the treasure conch, is inlaid with silver on a large conch shell. In Buddhism, it is used as a metaphor for the Buddha's teachings reaching a wide audience. The powerful sound of the conch symbolizes the power of the Dharma and implies that the teachings subdue demons. Esoteric Buddhism especially reveres this object and regards it as an important ritual implement.

The Vajra knot, also known as the Hundred Knot or the Coiled Intestine Knot, resembles a coin knot without beginning or end. In Buddhism, this knot symbolizes the endlessness of the Buddha's teachings. In Esoteric Buddhism, accepting the Vajra knot symbolizes acceptance of the Dharma.

A banner, also called a treasure banner or golden banner, is a long, cylindrical ornament used in Buddhism for hanging. It is made of silk fabrics such as yellow brocade, and those decorated with gold on the banner and its pole are called golden banners. Those decorated with jewels or other ornaments are called treasure banners.

The wheel refers to the Vajra Wheel, one of the seven treasures of the Chakravartin (universal monarch) in Buddhism. It is made of gold, silver, copper, and iron, thus giving rise to four ranks of Chakravartin kings, from the Golden Wheel King to the Iron Wheel King. The Vajra Wheel has two symbolic meanings: first, it symbolizes how the Dharma can destroy the afflictions and evils of sentient beings, just as the Chakravartin king's turning of his precious wheel can destroy mountains; second, it symbolizes how the Buddha's teachings are like the ceaseless turning of a wheel.

The Buddha, who has manifested his golden body and possesses the eight great Buddhist treasures, has made all the necessary preparations.

This battle allows no room for carelessness.

Behind Zhang Bairen, a golden wheel slowly rotated, and the various patterns on it lit up with golden light one after another.

As the golden light shone, several physical clones appeared beside Zhang Bairen.

Although Zhang Bairen did not possess any magical treasures.

However, it is blessed by the supernatural powers of all realms.

It originates from the perfect clone of genes, from the amplification of supernatural powers of the Dharma form, and from the different abilities of various realms.

At this moment, all of them were distributed by Zhang Bairen and could be used simultaneously.

The Buddha Tathagata, with a solemn expression, took the initiative to launch an attack, attempting to interrupt Zhang Bairen's continued creation of clones.

The red and white umbrellas covered the sky and blocked out the sun, representing the Vajra and Garbhadhatu realms, attempting to devour Zhang Bairen's celestial avatars.

The several clones that had already separated simultaneously attacked.

A fist that can shatter everything, an invincible will, a slash that tears through the starry sky, a myriad of phenomena that merges the power of the six paths and natural immortal arts.

The four attacks, occurring in no particular order, shattered the Buddha's Umbrella.

The pure gold fish came to life, chanting the four-word mantra "Amitabha," attempting to repair the broken umbrella. However, a purple star vortex, soaring sword intent, ruthless heavenly law, and world-shaking axe light blasted it into dust.

The auspicious bottle released boundless suction, the colorful ribbons resembled a divine dragon, the power of the star-devouring force confronted it head-on, the power of the black demon devoured it in the opposite direction, and the genes of the zombie brother also shattered the auspicious bottle.

The Azure Lotus transformed into the Buddha's Eye, attempting to launch a direct counterattack with the help of the stars. However, at the crucial moment, the Celestial Martial Spirits of the Heavenly Court formed the Zhou Tian Star Array, turning the tide of the battle.

The Vajra Knot continued to spread, demonstrating its boundless power. Phoenix flames burned the sky, the ancient dragon's power was absolutely destructive, and the extreme cold light froze the starry sky. On the spot, it shattered the Buddhist Vajra Knot at an even faster speed.

The banner shone brightly, seeking to cleanse the heavens and the universe. The life-metal in the form of a cosmic emperor released a dark power that annihilated everything.

The Vajra Wheel transformed into four great wheels of gold, silver, copper, and iron, intending to crush everything in its path. Zhang Bairen, who was reciting the Tao Te Ching, also split into three, forming the Three Powers Formation.

Several Zhang Bairen also turned their gazes toward the true form of Tathagata, who was seated cross-legged on the twelve-petaled golden lotus platform.

"Power of the inner world, empower!"

"Eternal Flame, Phoenix Flame, grant your blessing!"

"The Eight Phases of the World, unfold!"

"Om Mani Padme Hum..."

The Buddha clasped his hands together and recited the six-syllable mantra.
