The mountains are shrouded in clouds and mist, like a fairyland on earth.
The climate is mild, and there's a dampness in the rainforest air. It's invigorating, leaving you with a cool and relaxed feeling.
Not far ahead, five peaks rise majestically, seemingly piercing the clouds.
That is the location of the Ruthless Sect.
Ye Tian felt apprehensive as he approached his hometown. He had been using his Sky-Stepping and Earth-Treading Boots to rush back into the Cloud Mist Mountains, but now that he was less than ten miles from the sect, he had slowed down.
He had already sent a letter to all members of the Ruthless Sect, filled with pleasantries. But the core message was simply this: I'm coming back soon, get ready to pick me up.
Logically speaking...
Ye Tian should be able to feel a very touching scene, with the migrant workers lining up to welcome him, each of them with white hair from missing him so much.
Even if it's not that dramatic, I'd at least shed a couple of tears.
They entered the Ruthless Sect and quietly ascended the mountain gate.
Ye Tian deliberately concealed his presence, but did not find his fellow disciples at the mountain gate.
Could it be that they had anticipated my presence and were waiting for me on the main peak of the sect? Are my master and fellow disciples really that clever?
But there was really no one at the mountain gate.
Ye Tian could only fly up the thousand steps to enter the main peak.
The imagined scene of universal celebration did not materialize; there were no people, not even a phoenix.
The phoenixes have all disappeared!
The sect was robbed? Could it be that all the fellow disciples were kidnapped?
How could this be! There isn't a single person left.
Something must have happened. Their fellow disciples received the letter long ago; how could they not come to pick them up?
Ye Tian searched the entire sect, but there wasn't a single person to be found.
Push open the door to the training hall.
I was dumbfounded.
The drunken Daoist, clutching a few simple bamboo playing cards, threw them on the ground with a "thud." He exclaimed, "Royal flush! I won! Everyone drink!"
Li Xiaoyao held the wine jug and gulped down a large mouthful.
Gu Nishang was the same.
The same applies to washing light gauze.
Su Muchen was the same.
Even the damn phoenix is the same.
Luanfeng took a sip and swayed precariously before collapsing to the ground. Li Xiaoyao shoved her aside, complaining, "You can't drink but you're still showing off! Come on! Master, let's continue!"
Ye Tian's forehead was covered in black lines.
Teaching them to play poker doesn't seem like a good thing.
"Hiccup, good disciple, how come you... hiccup, you're back?" Daoist Wuchen hiccuped several times, rubbed his eyes, and asked in surprise.
"Master, have you gone mad?" Ye Tian asked helplessly.
"What's wrong with you? Your Martial Aunt Hua Yun is visiting Xuan Tian Sect today. Master is happy, so what's wrong with having a few drinks?" Daoist Wuchen waved his hand, too lazy to pay him any attention.
"Come on, no need to keep the fish. Su Muchen, you drink it. What are we going to do with the half-jar left?"
When Su Muchen was discovered raising fish, he reluctantly picked up the wine jar and took a big gulp.
"Master, you promised to pick me up! Today is the auspicious day for me to return to the sect. Is this all you've got?" Ye Tian laughed angrily.
"A good day?" Wuchen Daoist was taken aback. "What nonsense are you spouting? What good day could be better than your uncle coming home? Get out of the way, don't block my drinking."
"Alas. Life is as lonely as an avalanche." Ye Tian walked out of the sect alone with his sword and sat on the peak of the training hall, sighing with emotion.
They promised to pick him up, but the sect members messed things up.
Just as Ye Tian was tossing and turning in distress, he suddenly sensed a strong killing intent.
hiss!
Ye Tian immediately became cautious, looking around warily, and coldly shouted, "Who goes there? Show yourself!"
No one spoke.
The only sounds were the chirping of cicadas in the woods and the squeaking of birds.
Someone is plotting to kill!
Within the Ruthless Sect, it is impossible for anyone to unleash murderous intent.
An outsider has entered the mountain gate!
Ye Tian's only enemy recently is Huangyu Pavilion. Could it be that Yu Chengen's people behind the scenes have already entered the mountain gate?
Do you want to kill them? Or do you want to wipe out their entire sect?!
Ye Tian held his breath and silently approached the roof, gripping his longsword. With his keen senses and sharp perception, he surveyed the surroundings of the Ruthless Sect.
Sure enough, someone was there! Although the movement was very subtle, Ye Tian could sense it clearly. He pinpointed the location to a woman in red standing not far away, beneath a rooftop.
Her skin was like porcelain, and her long, flowing dress hugged her slender figure. A long sword lay silently beside her; she was too weak to rise, blood trickling from her arm.
She clenched her teeth, her eyes filled with a resolute killing intent.
It wasn't hatred, nor was it revenge. Rather, it was like protection.
Her cultivation level wasn't high, at least not in Ye Tian's eyes. She was only at the second level of the Celestial Immortal realm, judged solely by her aura; she wasn't a genius capable of fighting beyond her level.
Ye Tian, who had been extremely wary, breathed a sigh of relief; at least he could handle it.
She had no intention of lingering. Forcing herself to sit up, she gripped her longsword tightly and limped towards the door.
This girl is really pitiful.
Ye Tian sighed, that was all. There are plenty of miserable people in this world, and she's not related to him, so why should he care?
Anyone capable of pursuing a second-level Celestial Immortal to this extent must be of a similarly high cultivation level.
To offend a group of people of unknown influence and considerable power for a temporary surge of sympathy is not worthwhile, not worthwhile at all.
The ruthless capitalist Ye Tian would never do business that loses money.
[Ding! Liu Luolan has approached the sect and regained control, gaining the title: Change of Throne. The host gains a bond: the closer you are to Liu Luolan, the stronger your defense. (A loving concern from an elder.)]
What the hell does that mean?
Is it possible for just anyone to have connections with the Ruthless Sect?
He is someone who, by simply getting close to the Ruthless Sect, can seize power from his master, Daoist Wuchen.
Although I don't know who this Liu Luolan is, I can't just sit idly by now.
Those from the Ruthless Sect, then, must be protected.
Ye Tian switched between the Mask of Freedom and Dustless Daoist and followed her without her noticing, completely isolating himself from spiritual energy.
Liu Luolan limped out of the sect, supporting herself with her longsword, as if waiting for something to arrive.
a long time.
Several men in black descended from the sky like immortals.
The chest is engraved with the phantom images of the sun rising and the moon setting, emitting a faint glow, lifelike and possessing an oppressive aura that is hard to look directly at.
This black garment is a magical artifact, possessing immense and profound significance.
The leading man's face turned slightly cold as he said sternly, "The Hundred Sects are nothing but a gathering place for enemy soldiers, filled with guilty prisoners. It is only right to kill them all and use their bloodlines to open our nation's treasure trove. Your efforts to defend this place will be futile."
Liu Luolan was incredibly fierce. She bit her lip and said, "As long as I live, you will never set foot in the Hundred Sects, you beasts! The Hundred Sects are descendants of heroic soldiers, not criminals and prisoners of war as you say!"
"What a joke. If it weren't for giving the Crown Prince an explanation, I would have killed you, a mere first-level Celestial Immortal, as easily as slaying an ant," the man in black sneered.
He wasn't lying; with his cultivation at the twelfth level of the Celestial Immortal realm, killing Liu Luolan was indeed easy.
Unfortunately, Ye Tian had already understood the whole story.
Those little bastards.
