Chapter 35 Gu Zhilin's Mental Strength

After hearing Lu Jin'an's words, everyone understood that the opponent they were about to face was definitely not simple.

They obediently accepted the physical training the other party mentioned.

Gu Zhilin looked at Wen Yili with some concern and asked, "How do you plan to train Wen Yili?"

Lu Jin'an had long noticed that Wen Yili's physical fitness was relatively low. Although it was noticeable that he had improved a lot recently compared to when they first met, he was still far behind ordinary soldiers.

He frowned and said, "When training with you, the requirements can be appropriately lowered."

But Gu Zhilin shook his head and asked again, "How do you plan to train us?"

“It’s just normal physical training!” After saying that, Lu Jin’an remembered that Gu Zhilin had not received normal physical training, and guessed that the training of ancient people might be different from that of modern people.

So he showed Gu Zhilin some videos of himself training his troops.

Gu Zhilin didn't say anything after reading it, because it was similar to the training of 21st-century armies, and even a bit worse than the training of some martial arts families.

But he still shook his head and said, "Your training methods are not suitable for Wen Yili."

Lu Jin'an looked at Gu Zhilin in surprise, not expecting that this person had other ideas.

"Alright then, I'll take over Wen Yili's training. I'll be the one to train him."

Shen Guannan, who was standing to the side, asked in surprise, "You can be a coach?"

“My physical condition is very poor. It’s only because Brother Zhilin has been training me that I have achieved the results I have now,” Wen Yili said from the side.

Lu Jin'an hadn't expected Gu Zhilin to possess such abilities, but even so, he was still uneasy: "Zhilin, your physical training may indeed be good, but our main goal now is not to train physical fitness but to increase mental strength, you..."

"Mental strength?" Gu Zhilin smiled. "You don't think I can't, do you?"

Lu Jin'an clearly thought so. Even though he hadn't studied history, his history classes had mentioned that ancient people did not know how to use mental power.

Perhaps Gu Zhilin, as a Taoist priest, knows some of these skills, but they are still somewhat lacking compared to the more mature spiritual training systems available today.

Gu Zhilin saw through the other party's thoughts and did not rush to refute them.

Instead, he sat down opposite Lu Jin'an.

Lu Jin'an didn't know what he was going to do. In any case, as an Alhpa, his control over mental power was naturally stronger than that of a Beta or Oemga.

Gu Zhilin gestured for the other person to sit down.

Lu Jin'an obediently sat down, and then watched as Gu Zhilin sat cross-legged, casually placing his hands on his knees, and slowly closed his eyes.

Just as Lu Jin'an and Shen Guannan were wondering what this person was up to.

Lu Jin'an was surprised to find that his mental energy was being attacked.

Only then did he realize that the person who attacked him was Gu Zhilin, who sat opposite him with a harmless look on his face. He opened his eyes wide, trying to see clearly how Gu Zhilin was doing it.

But he realized that if he didn't fight back, his mental strength might be damaged.

So he closed his eyes tightly, and an image of Gu Zhilin appeared in his mind.

As a warrior whose main attack is mental power, it's not surprising that images of him appear in other people's minds.

But it's definitely not a simple matter.

Even within the current Earth Alliance Army, most people cannot do that.

Lu Jin'an looked at the man in her mind. At this moment, Gu Zhilin did not seem to be aggressive.

But even though he was just standing there smiling, Lu Jin'an felt a strong sense of crisis.

Sure enough, the next moment, he saw the man in his mind laughing and attacking him, so he immediately assumed a counterattack stance, but...

He was unable to retaliate.

In reality, when he fought against Gu Zhilin, he was able to hold his own.

However, he found himself severely suppressed in terms of mental attacks.

Fortunately, Gu Zhilin didn't really intend to attack him. He just made a feint and then came to Lu Jin'an's side, reaching out a hand to touch Lu Jin'an's face.

"So this is what your mind looks like. You look much younger than you do in real life."

Lu Jin'an belatedly realized she had been teased, but before she could even feel embarrassed, she discovered that Gu Zhilin had already disappeared.

He quickly opened his eyes and, sure enough, saw that Gu Zhilin was also looking at him with a mocking smile on his face.

Recalling what Gu Zhilin had done to her in her mind, Lu Jin'an blushed without any backbone.

Shen Guannan and Wen Yili were unaware of what had happened between the two, only knowing about Lu Jin'an.

The youngest general in the Earth Alliance blushed as soon as he opened his eyes, clearly embarrassed.

"Oh dear, what exactly did you guys do behind our backs?" Shen Guannan asked curiously, staring at Lu Jin'an's face.

Annoyed by his stare, Lu Jin'an glared at him fiercely, and the blush on her face faded.

"You're very capable," he said, looking at Gu Zhilin.

Gu Zhilin raised an eyebrow but did not speak.

"In terms of mental strength, there should be no one stronger than you in the entire Earth Alliance." This was the highest praise Lu Jin'an gave.

Shen Guannan had completely forgotten about teasing Lu Jin'an. He looked at Gu Zhilin in shock.

Even Wen Yili, who had some understanding of Gu Zhilin's mental strength, was surprised by this evaluation.

Only Gu Zhilin showed no surprise: "I've slept for a thousand years. Although I've been frozen during these thousand years, I've also been meditating and cultivating. How could I not have made progress? Can your decades of training be equivalent to my thousand years of cultivation?"

That makes him sound like a demon.

However, Lu Jin'an understood, and upon careful consideration, it made perfect sense.

No matter how capable modern people are, their mental strength can only be cultivated over a few decades.

And this person does indeed have thousands of years of experience.

So he stopped hesitating and readily agreed: "I'll leave Wen Yili's training to you."

Gu Zhilin smiled at Wen Yili: "Do you trust your brother?"

“I have always believed in Brother Zhilin,” Wen Yili said with a smile.

"Gu Zhilin, how do you plan to train Wen Yili?" Shen Guannan was curious about this person's training methods.

After all, this person usually seems incredibly lazy.

“Actually, he’s training every day now! But since we’re going to add extra training, I’ll teach him something else.” With that, she led Wen Yili to the backyard.

Unexpectedly, the other party didn't go to the gym training room, but went to the backyard.

Shen Guannan glanced at Lu Jin'an and asked, "Would you like to see how they train?"

Lu Jin'an didn't answer, but simply followed after him.

Seeing this, Shen Guannan chuckled and said, "This kid was just waiting for me to ask him that question."

The group went to the backyard.

First, I watched helplessly as Gu Zhilin and Wen Yili slowly performed a section of the Eight Pieces of Brocade.

This made Shen Guannan extremely envious.

He had never seen any training that could be so leisurely, and every movement looked as simple as eating and drinking.
