Chapter 18
Ji Tang pretended to be surprised and said helplessly, "What happened?"
The queen was supported by her maid and did not slip off the chair.
She was pale and at a loss.
Ji Tang lowered his voice, "Empress, are you feeling unwell?" Then he shouted at the people kneeling in the room, "Why don't you go and call the imperial physician!"
No one moved, but instead buried their heads deeper.
The Queen took a long time to speak, "Jitang, I am not feeling well. You should go back today."
Ji Tang: "Don't you need to call the imperial physician? Or should I take a look at it for you?"
The Queen waved her hand.
Ji Tang stood up and said, "Then you take a rest. I will come back another day."
She left Yuhuang Pavilion and was worried all the way back to Liuguang Pavilion.
How should she tell Su Jinzhou?
The owner of the dream was found, and the murderer was the queen.
Just thinking about it makes me feel suffocated.
On one side is Su Jinzhou's biological mother, and on the other side is his brother who is connected to him by blood and has a close relationship with him.
This was too cruel for Su Jinzhou.
Jitang didn't understand why the queen wanted to harm her own son.
She had many opportunities to stop it, but she watched helplessly as the maid deceived the Third Prince, bringing him step by step closer to death.
The queen's look of sadness and pain was genuine.
When Ji Tang's consciousness connected with her, he could feel her excruciating pain. If it was so painful, why did she still do this?
When Jitang arrived at Liuguang Pavilion, he learned that Su Jinzhou was studying in Zhuxuan Pavilion.
Normally she would go straight to him, but today she backed out.
I stayed all night on the boat and read until dusk before returning home.
Jitang was taking a nap on the kang table, with an outer robe falling on him.
She opened her eyes in a daze and saw Su Jinzhou's hand that had just been withdrawn.
She said with a nasal voice, "Is it time for dinner?"
Su Jinzhou sat on the other side of the table on the kang, "Didn't you eat enough in Yuhuang Pavilion?"
The two of them now have a tacit understanding about "eating".
Ji Tang froze in his tracks and began to worry again.
Su Jinzhou looked at her for a moment, "What's wrong?"
Ji Tang didn't know how to tell him, so he stammered, "Well, the food is okay, right..."
Su Jinzhou understood and said, "You already know who the murderer is."
Jitang looked up suddenly, "What did I say?"
"You've never been so vague before," Su Jinzhou looked at her directly, "Who is the murderer?"
Ji Tang opened and closed his mouth, anxious that he couldn't speak and couldn't persuade others.
Seeing that she was so reluctant to speak, Su Jinzhou's eyes darkened. "Is it someone close to the Queen Mother?"
He continued to guess, "Is it the personal maid?"
Ji Tang couldn't stand this gradually approaching feeling, so he just went all out and said directly: "It's your mother!"
Su Jinzhou frowned, "Is he really someone close to the Queen Mother?"
Ji Tang shook his head, not daring to look at Su Jinzhou's expression, "The murderer is your mother."
Silence, deathly silence.
Ji Tang didn't dare to breathe. She hadn't heard any movement for a long time. She raised her eyes cautiously, and met Su Jinzhou's angry and sharp eyes.
"You..." Ji Tang had just said one word when the leader was grabbed by Su Jinzhou and then lifted up.
She swayed forward unsteadily, and her knees suddenly fell on the kang table.
Su Jinzhou looked down from above, his whole body filled with coldness and anger, all pressing down on Ji Tang.
He gritted his teeth and said word by word: "Who sent you?"
Ji Tang hadn't recovered from the pain in his knee yet, and subconsciously asked, "What? Didn't I tell you..."
Su Jinzhou interrupted her, "You're so good at pretending, even I'm going to believe you! Is this your purpose? Or is this what your master behind you wants, to alienate the relationship between me and my mother?"
He sternly said, "You can even say that a mother would kill her own child. Are you bold or stupid?!"
Ji Tang frowned and said, "I'm not telling a single lie, believe it or not!"
Su Jinzhou was furious.
"Someone come!"
The person outside the house was about to come in when he heard the sound.
Ji Tang snapped his fingers and a wisp of nightmare energy covered the door. No matter how the people outside pushed and shoved, the door did not move at all.
"Do you think they can touch me?"
Although Jitang has a good temper, he is not without temper.
Su Jinzhou was rude to her many times, but she couldn't bear it.
You can eat anywhere in the dream, not just in his palace!
Ji Tang: "Why, you don't believe it?"
"The Queen ordered her maid to deceive the Third Prince, causing him to fall off the rockery. This is a fact! She murdered her own son! I saw her in my dream today. She was hiding behind another rockery and witnessed the entire process of the Third Prince's murder!"
"You're lying!" Su Jinzhou pushed her away, then staggered backward, tripped over the armrest of the couch, and fell to the ground.
He was in a disheveled state, his eyes were red, his black hair was slightly messy, and he stared at Ji Tang intently, trying to see a hint of hesitation in her eyes.
No, nothing.
Jitang's gaze did not wander nor avoid.
“Absurd…”
Su Jinzhou's sharp eyes lost some of their luster, and he sat on the ground like a bewildered madman.
Jitang still softened his heart.
She lay down near Su Jinzhou and asked hesitantly, "Shall I help you up?"
Su Jinzhou waved Jitang's hand away.
His eyes turned cold as ice again in a short moment.
The disbelief and doubt in his eyes turned into a cold light.
He looked her up and down, his words as cold as a knife.
"Get lost, you liar."
Jitang pursed his lips into a straight line, stood up and left.
She opened the door, and the evil spirit suddenly fell on the guards who were banging on the door outside. The guards and the maids who were waiting anxiously fell down one by one silently.
She left Chiqing Palace in a fair and unimpeded manner.
*
Time flies, and eight years have passed in a flash.
In the morning, Wuzhou, in the imperial city of Jiaguo, at Molan Dance House.
Second floor.
In the room with the words "Xianqing" hanging on the wall, the window lattice was open, and sweet osmanthus flowers drifted in, filling the room with the fragrance of sweet osmanthus.
A woman sat at her dressing table, drawing her eyebrows. She looked at another woman sitting by the windowsill. "I heard the news yesterday that the elder has been replaced again."
The two women were as beautiful as peach and plum blossoms, graceful and charming.
The woman by the window was bored. Seeing several men downstairs looking up at her, she grabbed a handful of osmanthus flowers from the windowsill and spread them out to them.
Several people came forward and pretended to take it.
The woman smiled slightly, opened her mouth and started eating.
The man below: “…”
She rolled her eyes without caring about her image and slammed the window shut.
The woman in front of the dressing table was speechless: "Jitang, don't eat anything carelessly, or you might get an upset stomach."
Jitang jumped down from the windowsill and walked over to sit next to the woman. "I used my nightmare energy to brush off the dust. Besides, the newly fallen osmanthus flowers are not dirty."
She looked at the woman in the mirror drawing her eyebrows and asked, "Who has become the elder?"
The woman finished tracing the end of one eyebrow and began tracing the other. "Sun Qizhuo, Elder Sun."
Jitang thought for a long time, "That old man who smiles all day long?"
The woman smiled and said, "It's him."
Ji Tang: "I haven't been back to the tribe for only two or three years, how come the elders have changed again?"
The woman couldn't help but frown: "If things keep changing like this, I don't know what our tribe will become in the future." She put down her eyebrow pencil, closed her inkstone, and turned to look at Ji Tang, "Have you ever thought about becoming the tribe leader in the future?"
Ji Tang laughed and said, "How can I be a clan leader?"
The woman said, "You are the only direct descendant of the clan leader, and you are the rightful leader. Ever since... ever since then, the various factions in the clan have been vying for power and profit, fighting against each other, and there has never been a single day of peace."
"I especially miss the time when we were little, carefree, with nothing to worry about every day. We just had fun playing around."
Ji Tang hugged the woman, suppressing the emotion that was about to emerge in his eyes, and said lazily: "It's fine now. I don't like being the clan leader. I just want to live the life I want freely."
The woman hugged her back: "You're right, we are doing well now."
She patted Jitang on the back, and the two separated. She said, "Let's go and watch me dance!"
Jitang stood up with a smile and straightened her pearl tassel earrings.
"Have you found anything delicious lately?"
The dance hall is located in the imperial city, where there are many rich and powerful people. They don't have to worry about making a living, so naturally they have to spend more energy elsewhere.
The delicacy she had before was the nightmare of the daughter of an official family.
Out of jealousy, the young lady pushed the maid into a well and drowned her, simply because the maid and the man she loved made eye contact.
"Of course, otherwise I wouldn't be dancing this dance." The woman said as she put a veil on Jitang.
Ji Tang became interested, "Why, are you going to join the game yourself?"
The woman took her by the hand, pushed the door open and went downstairs, chuckling: "This is interesting."
By going downstairs from the Xianqing Room, you can avoid the guests in the dance studio and come to the stage curtain on the first floor.
The steward who was busy counting the number of people behind the stage came over and said, "Miss Qingyue, my little ancestor, if you don't come down now, there will be no one left in the front to hold the scene!"
Tan Qingyue is ostensibly a dancer at Mo Lan Dance Studio, but in reality she is the owner of the studio. Like Ji Tang, she is from the Nightmare Clan.
Tan Qingyue said to Jitang, "I've reserved a seat for you. Go sit down first and we'll talk later."
Jitang waved his hand, "Don't worry about me."
She came out from backstage and sat in the reserved seat in the front row.
The table was filled with drinks, snacks and fruits, several times more than on other tables. If you didn't know, you would think she was a big eater.
With a smile in his eyes, Jitang took a piece of osmanthus cake and stuffed it into his mouth. Then he heard applause. It was Tan Qingyue who came on stage.
Tan Qingyue is a good dancer.
As soon as she came on stage, she stunned everyone. Her lilac-colored chiffon skirt spun like a blooming colchicum, and she looked graceful and elegant, swaying gracefully as she danced.
Ji Tang's eyes were always on Tan Qingyue until she caught a glimpse of a pair of gazes looking at her straight ahead.
The owner of that gaze was sitting opposite her. There was a stage extending forward between the two tables, where several dancers were dancing to the music.
Ji Tang looked at the man between the dancer's rising and falling long sleeves and ribbons.
His white shirt was slightly loose, and he was leaning on the thick and soft cushion behind him.
His long legs stretched and then bent, his right hand held a wine glass, and his left arm hung naturally on his raised knee.
With a lazy and casual posture, he tilted his head back to drink the wine in the glass, and the woman next to him immediately filled it up for him.
His black hair was tied up in a crown, with more of it falling behind him. He looked slightly tipsy, relaxed and comfortable.
His eyebrows rose slightly, and the line of his jaw became more distinct as he raised his head. Seeing Jitang looking at him, he raised his glass in greeting.
Ji Tang stared for a while before recognizing the person from this familiar feeling - Prince Su Jinzhou.
After not seeing him for eight years, Jitang almost couldn't recognize the prince.
He dropped his glass, stood up, and walked across the stage.
The dancer on the stage made room for him and waved her long sleeves, which touched his white shirt and made the jade pendant on his waist sway slightly.
A handsome young man always gets some preferential treatment.
He came to sit next to Jitang while still drunk.
"In eight years, Miss Jitang hasn't changed at all."
Ji Tang put down the osmanthus cake in his hand and said, "Your Highness the Crown Prince has changed a lot."
The childishness of his fifteen years old is completely gone. Now he is over the age of coming of age, tall and slender, with a graceful figure and extraordinary handsomeness.
However, compared to the gentlemanly demeanor of fifteen-year-old, his temperament now is completely different from that of eight years ago.
Ji Tang looked at the woman at the opposite table. The woman was also looking at him and waved at Su Jinzhou, probably meaning that he should go back quickly.
Her gaze turned to Su Jinzhou.
Su Jinzhou smiled frivolously and poured a glass of wine from this side and played with it in his hand. The wine flowed out from the mouth of the glass, passed over his wrist with slightly protruding veins, and finally sank into his sleeve.
Jitang looked at his cuffs——
How come this person has become so unruly now?
