Chapter 23
Su Qianchen suddenly woke up.
The moment I opened my eyes, I saw Jitang’s serious face and was frightened again.
Su Qianchen: "...w-what happened?"
His eyes lingered on Tan Qingyue and Jitang, "You? You entered my dream?"
Ji Tang squatted in front of him and demanded an answer, "Su Qianchen, Su Jinzhou's reaction to the fire in the dance studio was very intense. Is this related to the fire in your mother's bedroom?"
Su Qianchen frowned and was speechless for a moment.
Jitang didn't urge him, nor did he leave.
Tan Qingyue came to his side, "If you don't want to say..."
Su Qianchen's shoulders drooped, and he said dejectedly, "Yes, brother always thought that the Queen Mother's death was due to his constant pressure. It was because of him that the Queen Mother was upset, and that's why she accidentally pushed over the lamp stand, causing the fire in the bedroom."
"But it was actually you who was discovered by the guards outside the window, and the Queen was so frightened that she knocked over the lamp stand." Ji Tang asked in a low voice, "Why didn't you tell Su Jinzhou?"
"At first, I didn't dare." Su Qianchen couldn't help but recall the night of the fire. "I didn't dare tell my father, nor did I dare tell my brother."
"But the truth cannot be concealed. Father will question the guards who discovered me at the time, and he will naturally summon me for questioning as well."
Ji Tang: "Did you tell him the truth?"
Su Qianchen closed his eyes: "Yes."
When the emperor learned that the queen had set up a plan to kill her own son, he could guess her reaction without asking.
Su Qianchen: "My father told me to keep it a secret and never mention it to anyone again. The final announcement was also an accident."
He looked at Ji Tang, his eyes filled with unbearable pain. "If I tell my brother the reason for the fire, he will definitely get to the bottom of it. How should I tell him? Should I tell him that I heard the Queen Mother admit that she stepped on her own son's life to secure her position as Queen?"
Su Qianchen was distraught: "It would be better to let my brother think that it was just an accident and that the Queen Mother did not harm my third brother."
Ji Tang patted his shoulder and said, "Although he doesn't know the reason behind this, he already knows that your mother harmed the Third Prince."
Su Qianchen looked up suddenly: "What?!"
Ji Tang: "Eight years ago, I entered the Queen's dream and told him about it. He was devastated at the time, so he insisted on going to the Queen to get answers. Although he thought it was his relentless pressure that ultimately harmed the Queen, he's not stupid and will definitely be able to find the truth through other means."
Su Qianchen was at a loss, "But the only ones who know the real reason are me and my father... You mean my father?"
Ji Tang: "Maybe. Even if you don't tell him, with his brain, he can hint at it and figure out something just by looking at his reaction. But only Su Jinzhou knows that."
Su Qianchen quickly stood up and said, "I'm going to find my brother!"
Ji Tang stood up and said, "Your father has sent him to the Yangxin Palace."
Su Qianchen: "Then I will go to the Prince's Palace to wait for him!"
The three of them returned to the Prince's Palace and waited for the boat to finish its night.
Jitang was used to sitting on the couch, so he moved closer to it when he entered.
Just as Tan Qingyue was about to sit next to her, Su Qianchen pulled her over.
Tan Qingyue's back bumped into his arms, and she quickly jumped out, "What are you doing?"
Su Qianchen hadn't felt the warmth in his arms yet. He looked at Tan Qingyue with a hint of disappointment and said, "That's where my brother sits."
Tan Qingyue felt strange, "This is the Crown Prince's Palace. Hasn't your brother sat everywhere before?"
Su Qianchen pointed at the cushions on the couch and said, "These cushions were replaced by him for Jitang. Although my brother looks gentle, he actually has a strong sense of territory. If you sit in the wrong place..." He shuddered and waved his hands repeatedly, "It's better not to sit."
Su Qianchen's words contained a lot of information. Ji Tang lowered his eyes and glanced at the cushion. "Did you change it for me?"
Su Qianchen: "Yes, eight years ago you suddenly disappeared——"
Ji Tang: "What do you mean by disappearing?"
Su Qianchen: "Leave, it's okay to leave, right? My brother has been looking for you for a long time, but he couldn't find you. Later, he replaced the things on the couch. My brother has used this couch for many years and never replaced it. Why did he change it as soon as you left? If it's not for you, what else could it be?"
Tan Qingyue didn't take it seriously. "You think too much. If I really take the throne, what can the prince do?"
As she was about to go over, the door was pushed open.
Su Qianchen: "Brother, you're back!"
Tan Qingyue paused and then retracted her steps.
Su Jinzhou noticed that the three people looked at him with different eyes, "What?"
Su Qianchen: "No, ah no, yes, I have something to tell you."
Jitang dragged Tan Qingyue out and said, "Let's go out for a walk."
The two said they were going for a stroll, but neither was familiar with the palace, so they ended up looking for food on their own.
Jitang did not return to the Prince's Palace until nightfall.
Before I even entered the door, I heard Su Qianchen acting crazy while drunk.
The two men sat opposite each other drinking. There was no one to serve them in the room. There were a few empty wine jars leaning at their feet. The food on the table was hardly touched. It seemed that they were just drinking.
When they heard the noise, they all looked towards Jitang.
Su Qianchen raised his glass to Ji Tang, "Come on, let's drink!"
Ji Tang sat between the two of them and raised his hand to pick up an empty cup. "Can wine fill you up?"
Su Qianchen didn't act like a prince. He took Ji Tang's wine cup and placed a palm-sized wine jar in front of her. He tore off the seal and said, "Cheers!"
Ji Tang grabbed the wine can and said, "Fuck you."
Su Jinzhou laughed silently beside him.
Su Qianchen tilted his head back and poured the wine into his mouth, the wine flowing down the corners of his mouth and into his neck.
Jitang looked at him with disdain, lowered his head and took a sip of wine.
As soon as the wine entered his mouth, Ji Tang frowned because of the spiciness. He swallowed it subconsciously, and then his throat felt burning, and the burning went all the way to his stomach.
She pushed the can away. "What's so good about this?"
Su Qianchen: "You...you don't understand!"
Jitang curled his lips.
Su Jinzhou took her wine jar and shook it in his hand.
Jitang: "I've drunk it!"
Su Jinzhou: "Isn't it a waste if I only drink one sip and throw it away?"
Jitang looked at the mouth of the wine jar.
Su Jinzhou smiled slightly and drank the wine with his head tilted back like Su Qianchen. He was still some distance away from the mouth of the jar, so the wine inevitably splashed out.
Ji Tang noticed that there was an abnormal redness in his slightly narrowed eyes. He turned to look at Su Qianchen and saw that he looked drunk and his eyes were a little swollen.
She said nothing more and picked up her chopsticks to eat.
Su Jinzhou quickly drank the wine jar empty. He threw the jar down and said, "Someone come here."
Several maids walked in quietly.
Su Jinzhou, "Go and heat these up."
Ji Tang spoke vaguely: "It's edible."
Su Jinzhou: "Very soon."
The table was empty in the blink of an eye. Ji Tang poured a cup of tea and held it in his hand. He ignored Su Qianchen's screams and asked Su Jinzhou, "Have you talked it out?"
Su Jinzhou opened another can of wine and said, "Let's talk about it."
Ji Tang was silent for a moment, poured out the tea in the cup, and handed it to Su Jinzhou, "Pour it for me."
Su Jinzhou laughed and said, "Your cup is bigger than the wine cup, so it must be hard to drink."
"You don't have to laugh if you don't want to," Jitang urged with his eyes, "It's just one cup."
Su Jinzhou shook the wine jar and said, "I'm not forcing a smile."
After Su Jinzhou finished pouring the wine, Ji Tang raised his teacup towards him and said, "Cheers!"
Su Jinzhou shook his head and smiled, "You're a quick learner."
The wine jug and teacup made a crisp sound when they collided.
The two of them drank.
Jitang drank the empty teacup and grinned.
"Now that you've resolved your worries, I wish you... I wish you to be a good emperor!"
Su Jinzhou gestured to silence him, "Don't say that. And why should you say a toast after drinking?"
Ji Tang drank two cups of tea before he felt the taste of alcohol in his mouth fade. "I'm not going to drink another cup just for a toast!"
Su Jinzhou didn't know whether to laugh or cry, "I'm not trying to persuade you to drink."
Su Qianchen came over and said, "Hey, you shouldn't wish my brother to be a good emperor, you should wish me!" He patted his chest and said, "Wish me to be a good emperor!"
Jitang: "What do you mean?"
Su Qianchen staggered and shouted, "I! The Emperor—"
Su Jinzhou covered his mouth with his hand.
"Seventh Brother, you've had too much to drink. Be careful. Walls have ears."
Su Jinzhou's words rang in Su Qianchen's ears.
Although both of them had drunk alcohol, Su Jinzhou was obviously more sober. He reminded Su Qianchen in a calm voice.
Su Qianchen felt like he was hit by a stick in the face. He shuddered and sobered up a little.
Ji Tang looked at Su Jinzhou and asked quietly, "You don't want to be the emperor anymore?"
Su Jinzhou patted Su Qianchen's shoulder and let him go, "It's not that I don't want to be the boss anymore, but I don't want to be the boss anymore."
Ji Tang: "Can this be something you decide on your own?"
Su Jinzhou laughed: "Don't you want me to live for myself?"
Jitang: "But..."
Su Qianchen: "It's nothing, if my brother enters the path of cultivation, it will be the best thing for the Sujia Kingdom, a great opportunity! How could the emperor not agree?"
Ji Tang: "Then why can you be the emperor? Is this something you can decide?"
Su Qianchen glared at her, "You don't believe in my ability!"
He slammed the table and said aggrievedly, "Just because I'm afraid of heights and can't become an immortal, I can only become an emperor..."
Ji Tang pointed at him and looked at Su Jinzhou, "Is this what a human being would say?"
Su Jinzhou: "He's drunk."
Ji Tang: "I think he is dreaming."
The food was quickly served. Ji Tang acted like a senior and said as he ate, "Since you've decided to embark on the path of cultivation, you should also cut off worldly affairs."
Su Jinzhou immediately put on an expression of humbly asking for advice, "Are you going to make a decision about my prince's affairs?"
Ji Tang waved his finger and said, "Cut off those dancing girls of yours."
Su Jinzhou: "..."
Ji Tang: "Cultivation is of utmost importance, don't underestimate it. Countless people have died because of mistakes during cultivation, and countless others have exploded and died because they were unable to reach their realm. You haven't even set foot in the world of cultivation yet, so you should focus on cultivation."
Su Jinzhou: "What are you thinking? Do you think I'm a playboy who lingers among the flowers?"
Jitang said, "I think he is quite wild and unruly."
Ji Tang: "You have spoken to Su Qianchen, which means you have untied the knot in your heart. You can't be so depressed anymore. The girl's wine is delicious, but cultivation is more important."
Su Jinzhou had no choice but to agree with her, "Junior sister, you are right."
Ji Tang was about to stand up and said, "Come on, I'll teach you some basic techniques first!"
Su Jinzhou pulled her to sit down and said, "Let's finish our meal first."
Jitang didn't teach Su Jinzhou that night because she was drunk.
When Ji Tang was drunk, she didn't yell and make a fuss like Su Qianchen. After finishing her meal, she got on the couch, lay down on the kang table and fell asleep.
It was only when Su Jinzhou asked her to go back to the house that he realized something was wrong.
Jitang was very obedient after drinking.
Su Jinzhou asked her to get up, and she got up obediently, adding the word "sleepy".
Su Jinzhou: "Let the maid take you back to your room to rest."
Jitang: "Okay."
She was supported, and before leaving, she turned back and said to Su Jinzhou, "Sleep well. From now on, Senior Sister... will take you to see all the mountains and rivers in Kyushu."
After staying up all night, Zhou's heart was slightly shaken.
He answered yes with a smile in his eyes.
The world is so big, and his own journey has just begun.
"Junior sister, have a good rest too."
Jitang muttered something, feeling quite dissatisfied with the way they addressed each other as junior sister and senior sister.
