Chapter 22: Breaking off the Engagement

Chapter 22: Breaking off the Engagement

She stretched her furry head and lay on the back of the passenger seat, looking very sincere.

"Have you any money?" she said.

Wen Mu didn't react and looked hesitant.

"I'm a realistic person. I like men who are rich and good-looking. You know I'm so beautiful, I won't marry an ugly one."

Han Siti blinked and continued, "You must be willing to spend money on me. I love buying bags, clothes, and jewelry. You must buy them every month. You must also be nice to me, tolerate me, and love me. If your cousin can do all of the above, then you can meet him."

After saying this, Wen Mu's face turned pale with anger.

Her cousin's family was average, and the whole family was supporting him to study abroad. The conditions Han Siti mentioned were clearly embarrassing for her.

Han Siti pursed her lips, tilted her head and asked, "I'm being very straightforward. Sister won't be angry, right?"

An undisguised green tea speech.

"No, it seems really inappropriate, then I won't force it." Wen Mu could no longer laugh.

Jin Yi said, "I didn't expect Sister Wen Mu to have a habit of being a matchmaker."

Wen Mu bit his lip, too embarrassed to express himself.

"Okay, who have you been meeting these days? Do you need me to remind you?" Jin Huainian's low and hoarse voice sounded, and it was not difficult to hear the warning in it.

Jin Yi knew he was in the wrong, so he touched his nose and teased softly, "Brother, I can't control myself. If you had someone you liked, you would be like this too, wanting to see her all the time."

Wen Mu's heart sank when he heard this.

"Why are you talking so many nonsense? Just stay at home next week." Jin Huainian said with a cold face.

Jin Yi hugged Han Siti, wanting to cry but unable to: "Then we can't meet next week."

Han Siti also cried: "I can't bear to leave you."

The two were tired of acting, but the man still didn't react.

After a while, Jin Yi was sent to Jin's house.

Han Siti's home was the farthest away, so she was the last one to go.

The car arrived at the gate of the community.

Han Siti's face was full of smiles as she was about to push open the car door: "Thank you, Mr. Jin, for sending me back. Goodbye... Hey?"

The car door was locked.

"Mr. Jin, I can't go to your place today." Han Siti gave him advice: "How about you bring Sister Wen Mu back now?"

"Come here." Jin Huainian filtered out the rest of her words and put one hand on the steering wheel, his meaning was obvious.

Han Siti is very thin and not too tall, so she can just bend down and kneel to pass by the passenger seat.

She sat on the man's legs with her legs apart, put her arms around his neck, and looked at him with her bright and clear eyes.

"Your fiancée doesn't seem to like me very much, what should I do?"

Jin Huainian touched her head, with some emotion flashing in his eyes. He smiled and said, "You are quite arrogant too."

Han Siti frowned, unhappy: "Brother, are you speaking for her now? This is such a waste of our years of relationship."

"Feelings?" Jin Huainian raised his eyebrows and asked back with interest.

Han Siti nodded vigorously.

"Tell me what kind of feelings we have." His eyes were burning, and if you looked closely, you could see some anticipation in them.

"They're not brother and sister, but they're better than brother and sister."

“…”

Han Siti pulled at his collar, and their bodies pressed closely against each other, so close that she could see the other's long and thick eyelashes, the mole on the bridge of his nose, the rolling Adam's apple, and the heartbeat that was a beat slower.

"Sister Wen Mu should be angry now, right? Aren't you going to comfort her?"

The ambiguous atmosphere was instantly destroyed.

"Do you have to mention her?" Jin Huainian pressed her waist, his power and his abusive attitude.

Han Siti didn't want to make herself look boring, and lowered her eyes slightly.

"Mr. Jin, can you let me go? I've been shopping in the mall all afternoon and I'm exhausted."

"You looked so energetic just now, but I didn't notice you were tired." Jin Huainian pinched her cheek.

"Then you're mistaken. I'm really tired." Han Siti spoke in a lazy tone.

"Okay, go down." Jin Huainian said with a smile.

The car was parked in a secluded place outside the community. There were few people passing by, and Han Siti's heart suddenly calmed down.

"When are you getting engaged?" she asked suddenly.

Jin Huainian held her hand tightly: "Why are you asking this?"

"Once you're truly engaged, our relationship will end, okay?" Han Siti leaned forward and kissed him. "Look, even though we don't have any feelings for each other, we can still kiss and do things that couples do. You and her can do the same, it's just a matter of choosing someone else."

Jin Huainian looked at her without saying a word, his eyes deep and unfathomable.

After a long time, Han Siti got off his legs without looking back.

The sun sets, dissipating some of the heat.

the next day.

As soon as Han Siti arrived at the company, her cell phone kept ringing.

She sat down at her workstation, slowly took out her cell phone and opened it.

It was from Jin Yi: [My brother and grandma had a fight yesterday. I think it was about the engagement.]

[You're not saying the engagement is over, are you?]

[Wait for me to find out some information.]

Han Siti: [Your brother can still quarrel with your grandfather? ]

She had never seen Jin Huainian get angry in such a long time.

It's a rare thing.

She wanted to watch it all.

Jin Yi: [My aunt said that my brother came home last night and went to Grandpa's study to discuss breaking off the engagement. I don't know if he succeeded.]

Han Siti: [Why so sudden? Is your grandfather okay?]

Jin Yi: [It's okay, but it seems Wen Mu's grandpa used to work for my grandfather and worked with him for many years. My grandfather is a very affectionate person. He said he had agreed with her grandfather a long time ago to have my brother and Wen Mu engaged, but my brother was busy with the family company at the time and didn't have time, so he kept putting it off.]

Han Siti put her phone down for a moment, lost in thought, when another message came in: [I just heard my grandmother say that Wen Mu met my brother once a few years ago, and it must have been love at first sight, so she agreed to this engagement without a second thought.]

[If it weren't for my brother being so cold, she would have been able to tolerate it.]

Han Siti read it without missing a word.

She replied: [So the marriage is called off? ]

Jin Yi: [How can it be that easy? My grandfather disagrees and threatens to commit suicide.]

Han Siti: [Is this true?]

Jin Yi: [It's fake. My grandfather cherishes his life very much. He's just pretending.]

Han Siti was about to reply when she suddenly heard the rustling sound of high heels coming from the elevator.

Very powerful, and looks a little anxious.

Han Siti stood up to check and saw Wen Mu rushing into the office with an expressionless face.

It's a pity that she couldn't see this good show.

Wen Mu pushed the door open and saw a man signing a document. He was wearing a white shirt and sitting in an office chair, with straight brows and a focused and deep look in his eyes.

The sound of the woman opening the door obviously disturbed him, and there was a hint of displeasure between her brows.

"What's the matter?" He replied indifferently.

Wen Mu didn't know why, but as soon as she saw him in the office, her anger subsided. She bit her lip and stood there.
