Chapter 37 Necklace
She blinked slowly, folding her hands on the quilt.
"We don't usually chat, so I don't have a chance to tell you."
Du Anning turned and looked at her: "What job?"
Han Siti was silent for a moment, but finally couldn't resist the other party's fiery gaze and replied, "Secretary."
Du Anning smiled happily: "Sure, why don't you tell me about such a good job?"
"I want to wait until the regularization period is over before I decide."
"That's right." Du An Ning nodded in understanding.
The two of them lay quietly on the bed. The wind came in from outside, blowing the light green curtains and bringing with it the refreshing scent of grass and trees.
Du Anning's phone next to her pillow vibrated. She sat up, stared at the screen for a few seconds, and then picked up the phone.
"Let's talk about it tomorrow if you have anything to say." Du An Ning's expression was not very good, and his words seemed to be strung together with a tight string, even his voice was much sharper.
Han Siti couldn't hear what was being said on the other side, she just felt the air suddenly became oppressive.
Du Anning's breathing became heavier and heavier: "I said, I will be back in two days."
Her fingertips gripping the phone turned white, her eyes were red, and she finally said, "Don't come, I'm hanging up."
Maybe she was arguing with her boyfriend?
Han Siti watched her hang up the phone and throw the phone aside with an angry look on her face.
The room was silent, and Han Siti always felt that she should say something.
"How are you?"
Du Anning raised his hand to tidy up the hair at his temples, turned his head, and smiled apologetically: "I didn't scare you, did I?"
Han Siti didn't react much: "No."
"The call just now was from my boyfriend. We had a fight." Du Anning explained briefly.
"When you find a boyfriend in the future, you must find a gentle one who treats you well. Otherwise, you will be like me, arguing all day and being upset."
Han Siti's hair loosened and gently fell to her shoulders, her eyes bright and clear.
Of course she knew, perhaps she knew better than anyone what she wanted.
"I understand." She smiled, revealing a dimple of neither deep nor shallow at the corner of her mouth.
Du Anning straightened the quilt and his anger subsided.
"Okay, let's go to bed."
The night sky was tinged with blue, and the neighbor's puppy barked from time to time. The wind blew outside, causing the branches to rustle.
——
the next day.
Han Siti got up very late, around eleven o'clock in the morning. The door of the room was not very soundproof, so she could always hear some small noises. She did not sleep very well.
"Aren't you getting up yet? We're waiting for you to eat." Mom knocked on the door a few times, but there was no response, so she just stood at the door and said.
Han Siti didn't dare to stay in bed. After washing up, she came out and saw a man standing at the door with her cousin, acting intimately.
"That's An Ning's boyfriend. He came over early this morning." Grandma had already come to the table.
Han Siti said "Oh" and sat obediently next to her grandmother.
The midday sun was hanging overhead, and her grandmother held her hand: "You've only been here for one day, why are you leaving again?"
Han Siti pursed her lips, feeling a little reluctant: "Next time I'll stay a few more days."
Du Anning and his boyfriend came over, looking very intimate, and you couldn't tell at all that they had just had a fight the night before.
"This is my cousin," she introduced.
The man was tall and had a decent appearance. He wore a pair of black-framed glasses and looked gentle and refined.
Han Siti simply greeted him.
After lunch, Han Siti prepared to go home.
Grandma packed a few bags of fruits and vegetables that she grew and asked them to take them back to the city.
It was already evening when I got home.
Han Siti returned to her room and lay on the bed. Her cell phone flashed and someone sent her a message.
Jin Huainian: [Are you back?]
Han Siti looked around. Did this person install a surveillance camera on her?
Han Siti lay on the bed and typed: [What's wrong, brother?]
Jin Huainian: [I'll be downstairs in half an hour.]
Are you crazy? It's already 9 o'clock in the evening.
No.
Han Siti puffed out her cheeks: [Okay.]
After cleaning up, mom and dad went back to their room. Han Siti took a shower, changed her clothes and went downstairs.
At nine o'clock, the school district house was still bustling with people running and square dancing. Han Siti just came out of the corridor and saw a man standing next to the flower bed.
His shadow was stretched very long by the street light. He stood in a comfortable and casual posture. He looked over here with thick and long eyelashes and a clear jawline. He was wearing a loose and thin sweater, and he looked particularly gentle.
Han Siti walked over and pulled him aside, afraid of meeting someone acquaintance.
"What do you want from me?" She tilted her head, the warm yellow light reflected on her face.
When Jin Huainian handed her the bag, her eyes immediately lit up. It was a necklace with a very thin body and a huge sapphire diamond in the middle. It emitted a dazzling luster from any angle.
"Help me put it on." Han Siti took it off gently and handed it to him.
The man took it and put his arm around her soft white neck. The warm breath came one after another. She could clearly feel the other's fingertips rubbing against her skin, leaving a slight tremor.
"Are you ready?" Her eyelashes trembled like feathers, and she licked her lower lips subconsciously, her voice very soft.
Jin Nianhuai's focused gaze burned her heart like a scorching flame.
"Okay." He straightened up and looked up, his voice low.
Han Siti met his gaze, her eyes misty at the moment.
"Thank you, Mr. Jin, you are so nice to your employees." Han Siti hugged him and rubbed her whole body against his arms.
Jin Huainian pinched her earlobe and said, "Thank you."
Han Siti crossed his arms across his chest, looking alert.
"What else do you want?"
Jin Huainian chuckled, reached out and pulled her over again. The two stood under the street light, feeling each other's body temperature.
"Okay, let's go up." He said after a long time.
Han Siti blinked, a little puzzled: "Then I'll leave?"
Jin Huai nodded and watched her enter the elevator with a fixed gaze.
I didn't expect him to be so easy to talk to today.
Han Siti was a little surprised.
She quietly opened the door and walked cautiously through the living room. When she was about to touch the door handle of the room, the light came on with a "click".
Mom was standing next to the refrigerator with a bad look on her face, and Han Siti stopped in her tracks.
"where have you been?"
The air froze for a few seconds.
"I went out to buy something." Han Siti's mind was working quickly.
"What is it?" Mom came over with a cup of water, as if she wanted to get to the bottom of the matter.
"Buy some yogurt." Han Siti pretended to be calm: "We're out of yogurt at home."
Her mother glanced at her and said, "Take it out and let me see it."
"I drank on the way."
After Han Siti finished speaking, she opened the door of her room and strode in: "Mom, I'm a little sleepy. I'm going to bed first."
"Wait." Her mother's voice was intimidating enough that she felt like she was under a spell and couldn't move.
"I'm really a little sleepy."
She bit her lips lightly, unable to resist.
