Chapter 56 2012 Second Stop Ends

Chapter 56 2012 Second Stop Ends

◎Tang Yi, we got first place again◎

It was around mid-to-late September when Ji Tang arrived at the Turkey station accompanied by Jiang Lin. It had been more than ten days since the misleading video with ulterior motives began to spread.

On the day of the short dance competition, Ji Tiantian and her group went to the venue from the hotel.

Ji Tiantian noticed that the foreign audiences gathered nearby waiting to enter gave them meaningful looks when they saw them, or turned around and whispered to their companions when they saw them.

A few days before the competition, Jiang Lin collected their cell phones so that Ji Tang would not be distracted.

Before the phone was taken away, the full interview video had already received a lot of attention. Watching the full video, it is not difficult to find that it was the American reporter who started the trouble first.

However, public opinion did not immediately turn to Ji Tang. Before Ji Tiantian turned away from her phone, she saw that many netizens who did not understand the current situation of ice dancing joined the discussion under the video and expressed doubts.

"I didn't know that Asian athletes would participate in the ice dance event before. I have never seen it in my impression. How could this pair of Chinese athletes get such high scores? Were the referees really not covering up for them?" Similar voices were constantly heard and received a lot of support.

Regardless of the truth of the interview video, many foreigners just don’t understand why the Asian duo Ji Tang can keep winning medals. They are also unwilling to understand.

To them this is unbelievable and irrational.

The audience who are about to watch the race may have been more or less influenced by online public opinion.

Ji Tiantian also gradually discovered that competition is not just about competition.

In order to win the game and achieve ultimate victory, they may have to defeat more than just their opponents.

There is also a very powerful, invisible enemy that they need to defeat. This enemy hides in the crowd, on the Internet, and may also hide in the referee's seat. This enemy is called prejudice.

Fortunately, they still have plenty of time.

Ji Tiantian took a deep breath, put herself in a good mood, and continued to move forward with Tang Yi's company. Not long after they walked, they met Ni Chuan and the sweet sugar powder Feifei standing with him. Ji Tiantian remembered Feifei, the designer of the sweet sugar goose doll.

"Why are you here again? Aren't you busy with your studies?" Ji Tiantian greeted Feifei and asked with a smile. She knew that Feifei's username on the forum was "Feifei studying abroad", so she could guess that Feifei was an international student.

"I... after thinking about it, I decided to come and support you." Feifei said with concern, "Those people on the Internet are just jealous that our country suddenly has such outstanding ice dancers. You must not be affected by it. I and everyone in the country like your free dance very much. Everything you are doing now... is definitely not meaningless." Feifei said, tears flashing in her eyes.

"Well, thank you." Ji Tiantian hugged Feifei tightly. At the same time, Ni Chuan also rushed over to give Tang Yi a loving hug, but Tang Yi pushed him away.

"You guys take care of yourselves too." Ji Tiantian looked at Feifei, then at Ni Chuan, "See you at the game."

"Well, come on!" Feifei watched Ji Tang walk towards the competition venue and shouted loudly, "Come on, Tiantang!"

Tang Yi looked back at Feifei, and then at the little girl beside him who had a pretty face and a determined smile.

He thought about it and said, "I remember you didn't like the name of the group Tiantang before."

He remembered that at first, when Ji Tiantian heard someone calling her "Tiantang" in the stadium, she would show an embarrassed expression. He didn't know when she stopped showing that expression.

"I've listened to it many times and I think it's pretty good." Ji Tiantian turned around and found that Tang Yi had been looking at her. She couldn't help but pull him, "Okay, Tang Tang, don't think too much, let's go!"

Tang Yi was about to speak but stopped talking. He was silent for a moment, but still followed Ji Tiantian and walked forward with firm steps.

The short dance competition will begin soon.

Soon after, it was Ji Tang's turn to warm up with the Spanish team. Ji Tang still participated in this sub-station with the Spanish team.

"Tiantian, how are you guys doing recently?" Anna from the Spanish group spoke to Ji Tiantian with concern. "Before... Lei Luo and I also forwarded the full interview video. I wonder if it can help you."

After the deliberately misleading video was leaked, many friends, including those from the Katelin group and the wealthy group, spoke up to speak for Ji Tang.

But in the beginning their voices were drowned out by radical netizens. In the past few days, people should have gradually noticed them.

"Thank you. Our phones have been taken away, so we don't know what the situation is now." Ji Tiantian nodded, "But it should have gotten better."

"After all, this is not the Winter Olympics, and many people don't usually pay attention to ice dancing. You have attracted a lot of attention. Many people have just discovered that there is an Asian group that ranks among the top in the youth group." The male partner Lei Luo said, "This is different from what many people think. Everyone thinks that the top three in ice dancing should be from Europe or North America. Don't worry, everyone will slowly get used to it."

"We will." Ji Tian nodded. After all, this was a battle that she and Tang Yi had to face.

Anna and Lei Luo began to organize each other's costumes and conduct a final inspection.

At the same time, Tang Yi turned his gaze to Ji Tiantian and hesitated before speaking: "Are you really okay?"

"Of course." Ji Tiantian raised the corners of her mouth, but after a while, the corners of her mouth slowly fell back, "Actually, it's not too bad. I'm very worried about Coach Xu..."

Xu Chi is Ji Tang's head coach. He is definitely not as important to Ji Tiantian as he is to Tang Yi. During normal training, he focuses more on instructing Tang Yi and lets Jiang Lin take care of Ji Tiantian.

However, Ji Tiantian knew that without Xu Chi, she would not be where she is today. She was able to successfully transfer to the Capital Dance School and meet so many teachers who cherished and appreciated her, all because of Xu Chi.

If Xu Chi had not applied again and again at the risk of offending her superiors, she would not have been able to come to the capital so smoothly.

She wanted to be a star, to light up the dark night sky, and Xu Chi was the one who personally sent her to the night sky. Without him, she would not have had the opportunity to shine.

As she thought about it, her eyes became moist again.

Every step forward will encounter unexpected difficulties. But it is precisely because of these difficulties that she will not stop moving forward. One day, one day, Chinese ice dance will no longer experience such difficulties.

"As long as we get good results, Coach Xu will come back, right?" Ji Tiantian turned her head and looked deeply into Tang Yi's eyes.

"Yes." Tang Yi nodded, "Definitely."

After warming up, the Spanish group played first.

Anna and Lailo held hands and glided through a smooth blues pattern, and the swing dance part was also in perfect harmony.

Their short dance score was 57.88, which was a clear improvement compared to the first stage.

Although the step sequence was still rated at Level 2, their pattern dance was better than in the first stage, with no mistakes in any key points.

Next up were Ji Tiantian and Tang Yi. They still used a lot of brisk toe steps after the blues pattern dance, making their swing dance look more relaxed and cheerful. In the end, their score was 56.56.

Although the performance was more skillful than the first stop, their technical scores did not improve significantly. They made a mistake in a key point, and the pattern dance was downgraded to level three, and the connecting steps were downgraded to level two, which was exactly the same as the technical movement rating of the first stop. This also made them fall behind the Spanish group, which had been making progress.

The first day of short dance competition came to an end, with Ji Tang taking second place and the Spanish group taking first place.

Ji Tiantian got her and Tang Yi's score sheets, looked at the detailed scores for each item, and sighed silently.

There was only one month between their second stop and their first stop.

During this month, Ji Tiantian and Tang Yi spent a lot of energy on improving their free dance and working hard to enhance their performance.

It is hard to say that the American reporter's words did not have an impact on Ji Tiantian. She was also worried that foreign audiences and judges would not understand the free dance, so she repeatedly reviewed every movement and every mood of the performance.

In this way, there is naturally no time to take care of the short dance.

Ji Tiantian held the small score sheet and couldn't help but wonder what would happen if Xu Chi was there.

"This is great! You've done a great job!" he will definitely say.

No matter what score she got, whether she was happy or sad, Xu Chi would always look at her with a happy smile, then comfort her and encourage her.

She never felt anything before, but when she actually came to a competition field without Xu Chi, she found that such a competition field was really much colder.

Deep down in her heart, she had been looking forward to hearing Xu Chi say, "This is already good enough."

Jiang Lin noticed that Ji Tiantian looked a little sad, so she opened her arms to her. Ji Tiantian hugged Jiang Lin tightly.

Coach Xu, we will definitely work hard. We will wait for you to come back.

The next day, the free dance competition officially began.

On this day, the auditorium was filled with expectant audiences, and Ni Chuan and Fei Fei's faces also revealed varying degrees of nervousness.

"I wonder how this pair of Chinese players will perform this time..." Some foreign spectators in the audience whispered.

"Have you seen their video online? The one that grabs the microphone?"

"I know, I know. I cut it on purpose."

"But I doubt they can get high scores this time. In their first round, they ranked behind the Spanish group in the short dance, but this time..."

"Maybe they were influenced by that video. They haven't improved at all. I don't think their free dance will be that amazing either."

“The person who posted that video probably wanted to see this situation.”

"Sister Tiantian and Brother Yi will be fine." Ni Chuan said to Feifei who was nervous beside him, "They have experienced so many twists and turns along the way, they will definitely not be defeated by such a small thing."

Feifei nodded vigorously, "I believe in Tiantang."

In this free dance, Ji Tang started before the Spanish group.

Ji Tiantian and Tang Yi, wearing modified ancient-style costumes, came to the center of the ice one after another. The applause that greeted them was not warm, as if mixed with suspicion and nervousness.

Tang Yi turned his head to look at Ji Tiantian. Ji Tiantian slowly lowered her eyes, took a deep breath, and entered into the role.

The long and charming soundtrack "Chang Xiang Shou" from "The Song of the Ming Palace" was scattered on the ice.

Ji Tiantian turned her head and looked at Tang Yi with a bright smile.

At this moment, she was a princess of the Tang Dynasty. During the Lantern Festival in Chang'an, she met the man she loved most in her life.

Don’t care what others say, don’t care what happens outside, their world only consists of them.

She roamed with him in Chang'an during the Lantern Festival, leaving a smooth arc on the ice.

They skated side by side, doing classic postures such as horizontal twists with their upper bodies, and changing their steps with their lower bodies, skating in neat and elegant arcs. She flew across the ice with a happy smile, staring at him.

Everyone in the audience stared at the ice surface intently. They looked at Ji Tiantian's smile, as if they could hear the silver bell-like laughter of the Tang princess in the wind.

Then, the score enters the tightly interwoven “Drum Changes”.

Xue Shao and Tai Ping's marriage was not good from the beginning, and it was full of dangers. Ji Tiantian and Tang Yi chased and pulled each other in the drumbeat. She was eager to get close to him, but he kept hiding. Unlike her eagerness to catch his eyes, he deliberately avoided her and didn't look into her eyes.

They began to twirl in sync to the intense drum beats. They had to do three sets of twirls: five reps in the first set, four reps in the second set, and four reps in the third set.

If they just wanted to get the highest level 4, they could do fewer turns. However, in order to get more program content points and to let more people see their efforts, they increased the number of twists.

Moreover, the fast and rich twists added a sense of crisis to Princess Taiping's marriage, which was consistent with the expression of the program.

Ji Tiantian spun rapidly on the ice. However, just as the first set of twists was about to end, Ji Tiantian suddenly felt a sharp pain in her legs.

It was rubbed.

She reacted almost instantly. The distance between them was too close, and the blade of Tang Yi's floating leg grazed her slippery leg.

Being cut by a partner's blade is not an uncommon accident during synchronized twirling.

Competition rules stipulate that the closer the distance between the two sides is, the higher the score can be obtained in the synchronized twist step. In the duel between masters, excellent ice dancers always try to shorten the distance as much as possible. Therefore, such accidents can easily happen suddenly.

But fortunately, this happened after the first set of twists. Ji Tiantian thought quickly.

This means that she and Tang Yi can quickly adjust the distance before the second set of twists, and the same thing will not happen again. The score will not be affected at all!

After a brief moment of surprise, Ji Tiantian immediately regained her composure and got back into character.

After completing the first set of twists, Ji Tiantian and Tang Yi quickly adjusted the distance between them while sliding according to the choreography.

Tang Yi also felt his blade sliding towards Ji Tiantian, and he quickly adjusted in sync with Ji Tiantian.

There are only two transition steps between the first and second twists, but these two steps are enough for them to adjust their state and prepare for the second twist.

“Ah!” Feifei in the audience covered her mouth and screamed, “Just now… just now Tiantian seemed to be injured!”

"Really?" Ni Chuan immediately straightened up and looked carefully at the two people on the ice. "When? I didn't see it?"

On the ice, Ji Tiantian and Tang Yi were still spinning, and they perfectly completed their five-week, four-week, and four-week twists. There was a burst of enthusiastic applause from the audience.

To this day, their twists are still the most difficult in the youth group.

"Ah... my girlfriend's leg is bleeding!" A foreign audience member noticed and exclaimed.

Ni Chuan and Feifei hurried to see, and sure enough, they saw blood oozing from the pantyhose on Ji Tiantian's calf.

But Ji Tiantian did not stop skating, or rather, she was not affected at all.

On the ice, she is still fully immersed in her role. She is a proud and stubborn Tang princess, and no one can hurt her pride.

Although she was injured, she still closely coordinated various steps with Tang Yi. Perhaps because of the injury, their eyes met more frequently than in the first stop.

Everyone in the audience was watching Ji Tiantian and Tang Yi's performance intently.

The free dance music once again entered the lingering "Long Xiang Shou". With the change of Xue Shao's attitude, the feelings between the couple also became softer.

Xue Shao and Tai Ping spent a gentle but brief time together. On the ice, Ji Tiantian and Tang Yi leaned on each other and performed a joint rotation, and then they successfully completed a joint lift with two short lifts combined.

As the music ended, Tang Yi slowly fell down. In Taiping's arms, Xue Shao, who chose death, smiled with relief.

Ji Tiantian knelt on the ice, looking at Tang Yi in her arms, and slowly smiled.

I know that I will encounter all kinds of ups and downs in my life, and not getting the response and love I want is just one of the thousands of difficulties.

But in the end, I will get through this. No one can stop me.

Ji Tiantian raised her chin with tears in her eyes, looked towards the referee's seat and the audience, and smiled warmly and brightly.

At this moment, she is both a noble Tang princess and a fearless ice dancer.

Neither ice, snow, pain nor gossip can knock her down.

This is the place she loves, where she grows, suffers, but will eventually soar.

The music stopped and there was violent applause.

"Ji Tang! Come on!" Suddenly a shout came from the audience.

Ni Chuan and Fei Fei quickly turned their heads and looked towards the source of the voice. It was a voice with a strong accent in Chinese, a foreign ice fan was speaking Chinese to support Ji Tang.

Any old ice fans who have a little knowledge of the youth group's recent situation know that Ji Tang has experienced some twists and turns recently. They were inexplicably smeared and endured unfounded accusations.

"China! Come on!" another foreigner shouted.

Then more and more voices with various accents joined in.

"Come on, Tiantang!" Feifei shouted at the ice surface in a crying voice.

On the ice, Ji Tiantian slowly put away her smile. She was gasping for breath and was unable to stand up for a while.

Tang Yi immediately went to help Ji Tiantian and looked at her legs at the same time. Because of the pantyhose, he couldn't see her injuries clearly.

Ji Tiantian helped Tang Yi stand up, and then smiled brightly to the audience.

After she stopped skating and left the role, she felt the sharp pain from the wound. But she insisted on kneeling and saluting to express her gratitude to the fans who loved her. Then, she left the ice with the help of Tang Yi.

Behind her, waves of applause filled with encouragement and respect rose higher and higher.

Jiang Lin immediately helped Ji Tiantian to sit on a chair and tore her pantyhose open from the torn part.

Although she had prepared herself mentally, Jiang Lin couldn't help but gasp when she saw the real wound. Under her pantyhose, the wound caused by the blade of the ice skates was hideous, and blood was still oozing out. The blade of the ice dance shoes was not sharp, so Ji Tiantian could wear the ice skates and step on Tang Yi's legs to complete the lifts one by one. But when rotating quickly, the power of the ice skates' blades should not be underestimated.

"I'll take her to the hospital." Tang Yi looked at Ji Tiantian's wound and spoke quickly.

"No, you have to stay here. Go and wait for the ward." Jiang Lin handed Tang Yi's cell phone to him, then picked up Ji Tiantian, and took a taxi to the hospital under the escort of the venue staff.

Soon, Ji Tiantian and Jiang Lin arrived at the hospital. Ji Tiantian sat on the bed and received anesthesia and disinfection. Her wound was stitched with six stitches.

While the stitches were being sewn, Jiang Lin watched from the side and held Ji Tiantian's hand all the time.

The risk of synchronized twists increases with the number of turns. If Ji Tiantian and Tang Yi did not do five twists, the risk they took would certainly not be so high, and such an accident would not have happened.

But in order to get higher scores and reach the top of the world, they fearlessly take on challenges regardless of risks.

They know very well that it is difficult to improve the content score of the program, so they want to work hard to improve the technology.

Those netizens who were surprised as to why the Asian team could get such high scores and thought that they must be protected by the referees, never imagined what kind of risks the athletes were taking.

Every step forward is paved with blood and sweat.

Jiang Lin sniffed and wiped away the tears that were oozing from her eyes.

"It's okay, Coach Jiang. In fact, Tang Yi and I have already made preparations for accidents that may happen during the competition." After the stitches were completed, Ji Tiantian held Jiang Lin's hand and spoke softly, "I'm glad that it didn't affect the completion of the movements this time."

"I was just thinking, if Lao Xu and I had worked harder to improve our world rankings when we were still in service, you wouldn't have to work so hard." Jiang Lin hugged Ji Tiantian's head tightly, her voice still choked with sobs, "Thank you for your hard work, Tiantian."

"It's okay, I'm just doing what I want to do." Ji Tiantian spoke in a soft voice.

But in her voice lies a toughness that no one can match.

The doctor asked Ji Tiantian to sit on the bed and rest for half an hour, and she could leave the hospital after the anesthetic wore off.

Jiang Lin sent a message to Tang Yi, asking him to come to the hospital immediately after the award ceremony.

So Ji Tiantian sat on the hospital bed, waiting for Tang Yi anxiously.

In this race, they only have one strong rival, the Spanish team. Their overall performance will be fine and they should be able to stand on the podium.

Of course, this time Tang Yi can only stand on the stage to receive the award alone. If nothing unexpected happens, he will be a unique sight on the ice dance field.

But the key problem is that Ji Tiantian didn't know what color the medal was. When Jiang Lin rushed her to the hospital, their scores had not yet come out, and the Spanish team had not yet started their free dance.

For the first time, Ji Tiantian realized that time was so long. She didn’t know how long it had passed when she heard hurried footsteps outside the ward.

Tang Yi ran in.

"I'm sorry." He stood in front of Ji Tiantian, gasping for breath and apologizing.

"It's not your fault. I didn't control the distance well." Ji Tiantian looked at Tang Yi's eyes full of regret and self-blame, and couldn't help but curl her lips, "Okay, don't say anything unnecessary! What's the result?"

Tang Yi paused, quickly took out a small square box from his bag and handed it to Ji Tiantian.

Ji Tiantian held the box in both hands, took a deep breath, and then carefully opened the box. Although she had prepared herself mentally, when she saw the golden medal inside the box, Ji Tiantian couldn't help but shed hot tears.

Although they had won the championship last season, she knew very well that every championship was not easy. As their opponents grew, they had to grow as well.

Every growth is accompanied by crises and risks.

She wiped away her tears vigorously, then looked at Tang Yi and said sullenly, "Where is the score sheet?"

Tang Yi then handed the score sheet to Ji Tiantian.

From the score sheet, we can see that they all got level 3 in the free dance sequence. They got level 4 basic score in the twist, but the GOE execution score bonus was zero.

The execution score is a comprehensive score given by the judges based on the advantages and disadvantages of the athletes when they complete the action. If the athletes have more advantages in their actual performance, they will get positive points. If they have more disadvantages, they will get negative points. The execution score and the basic score are added together to form the total score of a technical action.

Ji Tang brushed against each other while twisting, which was a disadvantage, but their overall speed was good and they were synchronized, which was an advantage. The advantages and disadvantages offset each other, and it became zero points.

But even if the execution score of the twist is zero, the GOE execution score bonus for the step sequence level 3 is still considerable.

This month, their repeated scrutiny and polishing of the free dance paid off. They finally got back the level 3 for the step sequence.

In the end, their free dance technical score was 41.53, and the program content score was 43.58. The free dance score was 85.11. Together with the short dance score of 56.56, their total score was 142.67.

"The Spanish team's free dance score was not much different from the previous round, 81.31, and their step sequence was still level 2." Tang Yi spoke, "Including the short dance, the total score was 139.19, and they won the silver medal."

"The Spanish team has good chemistry, but they need to improve on their step sequence and edge use." Jiang Lin said, hugging Ji Tiantian's head. "Tiantian, the program content score has gone up. Your voices have been heard."

Ji Tiantian looked at the score on the score sheet, wiped the corners of her eyes hard, and then nodded.

Although this score is not good enough compared to the highest score of last season, they are indeed improving little by little.

"When I went to get the score sheet, I met the Chinese referee who was involved in the online storm with us." Tang Yi spoke to Ji Tiantian, "He said that he personally liked our free dance. And from the perspective of a professional referee, he still thinks our free dance is excellent. Those who are innocent will be innocent, and he hopes that we can keep going."

"Yeah." Ji Tiantian nodded vigorously, then smiled broadly at Tang Yi. "Tang Yi, we got first place again. We are rich again!" Her voice was muffled and tearful, but also revealed endless joy.

The first place in each station will receive a prize of US$3,000. After dividing half of the prize money, she and Tang Yi each received RMB 5,000.

"You kid, you're still thinking about money even in this situation!" Jiang Lin touched Ji Tiantian's head, smiling with tears in her eyes.

Ji Tiantian hugged Jiang Lin and then reached out to Tang Yi.

Tang Yi looked around, pulled a chair and sat in front of Ji Tiantian, then he and Ji Tiantian hugged each other.

"I feel a little regretful for not being able to stand on the first place podium." Ji Tiantian couldn't help but speak with her chin resting on Tang Yi's shoulder.

"We'll do it together next time." Tang Yi said, "You should get well soon."

"Yeah." Ji Tiantian curved her eyes and smiled sweetly.

Outside the ward door, Ni Chuan quietly poked his head in and watched the warm and harmonious scene in the ward.

"Don't disturb them!" Feifei pulled Ni Chuan away. Before leaving, Feifei looked at Ji Tang reluctantly and couldn't help but smile.

Ji Tiantian recuperated in a Turkish hotel for two days, and then returned to the Montreal Ice Dance School with Jiang Lin and Tang Yi.

She was unable to skate for a while, so she did sit-ups and other core muscle exercises just like Tang Yi who was injured before.

Maybe bullets do need to fly for a while. A few days after Ji Tang and his duo finished their second stop, their free dance "The Song of the Daming Palace" in the first stop was widely circulated at home and abroad.

First of all, in China, their traditional Chinese style ice dance video was forwarded by several Internet celebrities and quickly became popular. Many netizens who didn’t know much about ice dance were immediately attracted to it.

Friends who are into this topic searched the entire internet for information on Ji Tiantian and Tang Yi. They were shocked when they saw the information.

"What? The sweet girl got injured in the second race? Damn, the head coach isn't even with her?"

"Wow wow wow how pitiful! Is our ice dance so miserable?"

"Before, some foreign journalists deliberately made things difficult for Tianmei and Tangge, and some people even deliberately posted misleading videos. They made people think that our Tianmei and Tangge were unreasonable!"

"I saw it. I'm so angry!"

"It seems like the incident has passed now, but I want to ask why the ISU didn't do anything about it? They let this kind of reporter into the competition venue? They didn't speak out about this kind of public opinion that affected the athletes?"

"that is!"

Domestic netizens were outraged and contacted the International Skating Union through various means, demanding an explanation.

After watching Ji Tang's game video and paying attention to related developments, many international netizens also spoke out in response to Chinese netizens.

"Why is it that Asia, which rarely produces an excellent ice dancing pair, is subjected to unwarranted smear campaigns online?"

“If the people who organize the competition don’t protect the athletes, then what are you doing with the money?”

"Why has the ISU not made a statement for so long? They won't even say that our referees are fine and did not cover up anything?"

"Is the ISU protecting this rubbish reporter? Do you think Asian athletes are insignificant? This is discrimination!"

"discriminate!"

The previous video controversy gradually evolved into a questioning of the International Skating Union, with more and more righteous netizens joining in.

Many astute netizens found out that the American journalist who made malicious speculations had previously made racist remarks against Asians. As for the person who edited the misleading video, it was the radical fans of Nancy Johnson who had plagiarized Ji Tang. These two people don't know each other, they just don't want to see Ji Tang succeed.

Under widespread questioning from netizens, both of them apologized on social media.

"I'm sorry, I'm ashamed of my behavior." The radical fan who edited the misleading video said on his social media page, "I just saw Nancy Johnson was forced to apologize by public opinion and I was very dissatisfied, so I also wanted to make a video to let the Ji Tang team experience the feeling of being forced to apologize... I didn't expect it to turn out like this... I'm really sorry for causing harm to everyone."

His apology was still met with a barrage of insults, and soon after, he deleted his account and quit the Internet.

Under pressure from public opinion, the International Skating Union also made a statement on its official blog: "We have only recently learned about the negative public opinion faced by Chinese ice dancers Ji Tiantian and Tang Yi. We are deeply sorry for this. We have confirmed that the reporter involved has been fired by his company. We hereby promise that this reporter will never be involved in figure skating-related media work. We uphold the concept of fairness and justice and host every event without any cover-up, favoritism, or discrimination. We welcome supervision from people from all walks of life."

To express its concern for the athletes, the International Skating Union went to the Chinese Sports Administration to express its condolences after issuing a statement: "We heard from netizens that Ji Tang's head coach was transferred back to China. What's going on? Did he do anything wrong?"

Upon hearing this, the relevant leaders of the Chinese Sports Administration decisively bought Xu Chi a first-class ticket to Montreal and personally sent him to the airport.

The leaders originally summoned Xu Chi back to China because they were worried that foreign media would make a fuss and question why the State Sports Administration did not properly manage athletes. If that was the case, the leaders could immediately push Xu Chi out to take the blame and tell them that Xu Chi had returned to China to accept the relevant punishment.

Now that public opinion has calmed down and most people are on Ji Tang's side, this worry is naturally meaningless. The athletes' performance is still more important, after all, it is related to performance.

So in the blink of an eye, Xu Chi was in Montreal again. For Xu Chi, what happened in the past month was magical enough.

He did not hesitate and headed to the ice dance school as quickly as possible. From a distance, he saw Ji Tiantian and Tang Yi standing at the school gate waiting for him.

"I watched your race live!" Xu Chiren shouted at the top of his voice before he even approached, "You guys are awesome! Really great!"

Ji Tiantian couldn't control her emotions for a moment and rushed over to hug Xu Chi tightly.
