Chapter 102 Songsui Illusion (Part 10)
Only after Jiang Gu released the deadly spell was Wei Feng able to catch his breath. He stared at Jiang Gu's profile with somewhat unfocused eyes, belatedly realizing the meaning behind his master's words.
Master doesn't like those things touching him.
Wei Feng slowly opened his eyes wide.
Jiang Gu was in a bad mood when he saw Wei Fengchao's face turn red and he became happy at a visible speed. He smiled with his eyes crinkling and his lips curling up, revealing two round little tiger teeth. He looked as silly as could be.
Jiang Gu stared at him expressionlessly, suspecting that he hadn't understood at all.
Wei Feng pressed himself against Jiang Gu without any hesitation. He was soaked in sweat. Jiang Gu tried to dodge in disgust, but Wei Feng grabbed him around the waist. He grinned at Jiang Gu and said, "Master, I promise I won't let them touch a single hair of yours from now on."
This bastard was burning hot all over. Jiang Gu frowned uncomfortably. "Let go."
Wei Feng was somewhat reluctant, and after whining and groaning a couple of times, he finally let go. Just as Jiang Gu was about to scold him a few more times, Wei Feng fell into his arms again.
He fainted.
"..." Jiang Gu was silent for a moment, then helped him up by the shoulder. Wei Feng leaned against him without any defenses, revealing his fair and reddish neck, which was so fragile that it could be broken with the slightest force.
Jiang Gu's fingers, which were covering it, slowly tightened.
He had no intention of killing Wei Feng; the action was superfluous and meaningless to him, yet he did it anyway.
Wei Feng's throbbing pulse, soft skin, and the scent emanating from him... all of these things made him feel extremely irritated.
The door opened and closed, leaving only the boy sleeping soundly in the magic circle.
Jiang Gu conjured a concealment array and followed the Jiang family disciples in the illusion, making his way to the Spirit Realm Princess's courtyard.
Princess Lingjing sat wearily at a stone table under a tree. On the table was a miniature version of Songsui Tower. Opposite her was a young man dressed in the robes of a Jiang family disciple. His features were slightly sharp, and upon closer inspection, he bore a resemblance to Jiang Xiangyun.
“Jiang Lue, why do you think Song Sui refuses to come out and see me?” Princess Lingjing looked sadly at the small building. “I didn’t mean to hide my identity, but if he knew I was a cultivator, he would definitely not marry me.”
The young man named Jiang Lue said, "The princess also understands that we are not on the same path as mortals."
Princess Lingjing shook her head. “Song Sui is different. He is the purest and most innocent person I have ever met. Whether it is the Jiang family or me in Wangyue Ganlou, I have never seen such a pure and kind person. He would not even bear to hurt the ants on the roadside. He made me realize that every life is precious and equal. If there is anyone in the world who can cultivate the Dao of All Living Beings, it should be him.”
Jiang Lue scoffed: "Princess, you managed to steal the divine artifact from the Ganlou and run to the Pingze Continent, yet you believe in these things? You've probably killed more people than he's eaten salt, so you should understand that there is no true affection in this world."
Princess Lingjing suddenly fell silent. After a long while, she slowly spoke, a tear sliding down her cheek and landing heavily on the ground. "Yes."
"I want to take him back to Wangyue."
Jiang Lue's eyes darkened. "The princess has exhausted too much spiritual energy to protect him, and her cultivation has plummeted. It would be inappropriate for her to rush back to Wangyue."
"Is it safe to stay at the Jiang family's place?" Princess Lingjing asked him.
Jiang Lue paused for a moment, then knelt down and cupped his hands, saying, "The Jiang family was built with the help of Gan Lou. As the head of the Jiang family, I have no ulterior motives. I hope the princess will understand."
"Get up." Princess Lingjing picked up the small building and said absentmindedly, "I know the Jiang family is loyal, otherwise they wouldn't be resting here. I will definitely not be able to treat you well when I go back."
Jiang Lue bowed his head in gratitude.
Hiding in the shadows, Jiang Gu saw the dagger flash coldly in Jiang Lue's sleeve and knew that the Spirit Realm Princess probably wouldn't be able to return to the Moon Gazing Continent.
"How stupid." A cool voice sounded from behind him.
Jiang Xiangyun's cultivation was higher than his, so Jiang Gu was not surprised that she broke through his concealment formation, but he was still displeased. "If she weren't stupid, we wouldn't be in Songsui Tower right now."
Jiang Xiangyun was speechless for a moment, then crossed his arms and laughed, "Does Seventh Brother believe what she said?"
Jiang Gu didn't believe it, but he inexplicably thought of Wei Feng. Wei Feng seemed weak and harmless, but in reality he was ruthless and fickle, a completely different kind of person from Song Sui.
He swallowed back the word "disbelief" that was on the tip of his tongue. Then, he drew his Crimson Snow Sword, broke through the concealment array, and rushed straight towards Jiang Lue. Before the dagger could pierce the Spirit Realm Princess's throat, he deflected it with his sword.
Jiang Xiangyun followed closely behind, forming a hand seal and array in one smooth motion, firmly protecting Princess Lingjing behind him.
"How dare you ruin my plans!" Jiang Lue was caught off guard and knocked back, his face full of anger. "Are you going to betray the Jiang family?!"
Jiang Gu remained expressionless, while Jiang Xiangyun smiled and said, "Grand Ancestor, please calm down. We two juniors had no such intention."
They weren't genuinely trying to help Princess Lingjing. After all, Songsui Tower had become a divine artifact of the Jiang family ten thousand years later, indicating that Jiang Lue had already succeeded back then. However, they were now trapped in this illusion, and Princess Lingjing was the key to breaking the formation, so they couldn't let her die so hastily.
Jiang Lue sneered, "Two mere brats dare to stop me!"
The dagger in his hand suddenly transformed into a long sword, and an overwhelming pressure descended. It was actually the cultivation of a Golden Immortal. Jiang Gu and Jiang Xiangyun's expressions changed at the same time. They did not expect that there would be such a powerful illusion in the Song Sui Illusion.
"Take Princess Lingjing and leave first!" Jiang Xiangyun immediately rushed forward to block Jiang Lue's attack.
Without hesitation, Jiang Gu grabbed Princess Lingjing and entered the teleportation array. Even though he was using his fastest speed, he was still struck in the chest by Jiang Lue's spiritual power, and his vision went black as he almost lost consciousness.
"Hey, are you alright?" Princess Lingjing helped him up and then pulled him back to jump into the next teleportation array.
Jiang Gu forced himself to calm down and, during the brief interval when the teleportation array was changing, pulled the still-sleeping Wei Feng inside.
Before Wei Feng could even open his eyes, a fierce gust of wind swept over his face, and the next instant, the courtyard where he was standing was crushed by powerful spiritual energy.
Wei Feng opened his eyes in horror and saw Jiang Gu covered in blood and the Spirit Realm Princess behind him who had struck out with her palm.
"Master!" His eyes flashed, and his white pupils suddenly appeared. Princess Lingjing's movements froze for a moment, and Jiang Gu's Crimson Snow Sword wrapped around her forearm. With just a little force, he could send her flying.
"We risked our lives to save the princess, and this is how she repays us?" Jiang Gu said coldly.
Princess Lingjing scoffed, "Aren't you all doing the same thing for Songsui Tower?"
“We don’t intend to take Songsui Tower.” Jiang Gu said bluntly, “Since you are a wisp of soul, you should know how to get out of the tower. Why don’t we make a deal?”
Princess Lingjing's expression suddenly changed, and the surrounding teleportation arrays began to show faint signs of cracking. She stared intently at Jiang Gu, "How do you know I am a wisp of a soul?"
“Although the illusions in the illusion are no different from real people, there is one difference: their seven emotions and six desires are all predetermined, and even their tears are illusions,” Jiang Gu said. “But your tears have weight and temperature.”
Princess Lingjing looked at him with some surprise.
“Or rather, I should address you as Young Master Song Sui,” Jiang Gu said.
The "Princess of the Spirit Realm" stared at him for a long time before giving a bitter smile. Her originally graceful figure suddenly stretched and deformed, eventually transforming into a slender and elegant man. He wore a blue robe, but below his knees were only blurry and distorted afterimages. "You are the first person in these ten thousand years to recognize me. It's a pity you're a member of the Jiang family."
"No need to regret it," Jiang Gu said calmly. "It was just a trick on you."
Song Sui's pale expression froze for a moment. Wei Feng saw that he looked like he was about to beat Jiang Gu up, so he stood warily next to Jiang Gu.
Song Sui's gaze lingered on Wei Feng for a moment before decisively returning to Jiang Gu. "What deal do you want to make with me?"
"I'll let you see Princess Lingjing in exchange for seeing us out of Songsui Tower," Jiang Gu said.
Now all the illusions in Songsui Tower have shattered, and even the central illusion is on the verge of collapse. If we continue to stay here, there is only one way out: death.
Song Sui smiled bitterly, "The Spirit Realm has long since perished. Back then, she begged to see me, but now it's my turn to beg to see her. If only I had known this would happen—"
Jiang Gu opened his hand, revealing a small scroll in his palm.
Song Sui's eyes suddenly changed, and he reached out to grab the scroll, but Wei Feng's ghost pattern was even faster than his, snatching the scroll and merging it into the ghost pattern.
"You're asking for death! Give me back the Spirit Realm!" Song Sui shouted.
Jiang Gu twisted the Crimson Snow Sword in his hand, instantly tearing flesh and blood from Song Sui's forearm. Jiang Gu said with a gloomy look, "Young Master Song Sui, we are making a deal. There's no point in robbing him by force."
Song Sui's face was filled with anger. "You cultivators are all treacherous, cunning, and untrustworthy. Why should I trust you?"
Before he finished speaking, the entire illusion began to shake and become chaotic because of his anger.
“These teleportation arrays are all connected to the Spirit Realm. If you don’t believe me, then destroy the Spirit Realm as well. If we die, you’ll never see her again.” Jiang Gu said, “Besides, it was clearly you who exposed your weakness.”
Song Sui's eyes were wary. "You deliberately lured me into this teleportation array?"
“I guess the reason why all those illusions outside shattered is because you sensed the aura of the Spirit Realm on Wei Feng, which forced us to come to the illusion at the very center.” Jiang Gu looked at his expression and confirmed his guess.
Wei Feng suddenly realized, "No wonder you wanted me to come forward as soon as you saw me! The Spirit Realm was on me at that time!"
He said that he couldn't possibly have affected and shattered so many illusions in Songsui Tower.
Song Sui sneered, "So what if it is! This divine artifact originally belonged to the Spirit Realm Princess. She sacrificed her lifeblood to save me, so it was originally hers! But your Jiang family repaid kindness with enmity, murdered your master, seized the treasure, suppressed Song Sui Tower within the Jiang family, and even continuously consumed my essence to cultivate the illusion. Then you sent the Jiang family members who had merged with my and the princess's auras to Wangyue. How much benefit have you gained from Wangyue over the past ten thousand years?"
He was of noble character, yet for thousands of years he had been forced to do these opportunistic and self-sacrificing things to feed his enemies. This was the greatest insult and the most painful torment for him, and his hatred for the Jiang family had long since penetrated to the bone.
“You are clearly powerless to protect yourselves, yet you turn around and blame others.” Jiang Xiangyun’s voice rang out behind them.
Jiang Gu looked up and saw the eldest son of the Jiang family with half of his body rotten. A look of disappointment flashed in his eyes.
"I'm so sorry I didn't die, Seventh Brother." Jiang Xiangyun wiped the blood off his face with his sword and said with a smile, "It's all because my grandfather gave me too many magical treasures. I could barely survive against a Golden Immortal."
Jiang Gu withdrew his gaze expressionlessly, recalling the primordial spirit that Jiang Xiangyun had stored in the main house, and abandoned his plan to kill the other party now.
"You Jiang family members are disgusting!" Song Sui roared angrily, "Give me back the Spirit Realm!"
The illusion surrounding him suddenly shattered into countless fragments, transforming into sharp spikes that hurtled towards Wei Feng.
Wei Feng was so frightened by his powerful cultivation that he instinctively hid behind Jiang Gu. Countless ghostly patterns bared their fangs as he bared his teeth and said, "Do you believe I can refine her right now!"
The spikes suddenly froze in mid-air.
Song Sui glanced at him and Jiang Gu, then looked at Jiang Xiangyun, and said in a gloomy tone, "Now that the illusion has been destroyed, and I have been worn down to just a wisp of my soul, there is naturally a way to get out, and only I can help you do it."
Jiang Gu's eyes flickered slightly, Jiang Xiangyun gripped the hilt of his sword tightly, and Wei Feng hurriedly asked, "What method?"
“Leave one person to take my place, and seal him away in this Songsui Tower for all eternity.”
As soon as he finished speaking, all that remained was the sound of cracks breaking in the illusion.
Jiang Xiangyun smiled and looked at Wei Feng, who was hiding behind Jiang Gu. "That's easy to say."
Wei Feng sensed something was wrong. He quickly transformed back into human form and grabbed Jiang Gu's sleeve. Then he met Jiang Gu's cold eyes, and his heart skipped a beat. Cold sweat poured down his back. He instinctively took a half step back, the ghostly markings on his back standing on end in fright. He forced a dry laugh:
"Master, I think I can actually rest a little longer... right?"
