Chapter 140 Yin-Yang White Bones (Part 10)

Chapter 140 Yin-Yang White Bones (Part 10)

In a corner of the lobby, Xuan Zhiyan tucked Wu Tuo, who had transformed into his original form, into his sleeve and looked at Qu Fengyu beside him.

"Don't worry, they're from Qiankun Tower. As long as they're not from Nilou, everything is fine." Qu Fengyu transmitted his voice to him, "Don't panic."

Wu Hezhi whispered, "Ayu, is Bai Yi trustworthy?"

"Even if she's untrustworthy, how did you manage to run away?" Shen Yuxin, standing beside him, gave him a light but firm retort, then softened his tone and asked, "Feng Yu, are you feeling any better?"

“I have already healed A-Yu’s injuries, you don’t need to worry about it,” Wu Hezhi said coldly.

The two were locked in a fierce standoff, neither willing to back down. Xuan Zhiyan was already used to this. After silently counting to five, he heard Qu Fengyu say impatiently, "Shut up, both of you."

Xuan Zhiyan's ears were immediately quiet again.

Utuo's furry head poked out from his sleeve, pressed against his palm, and whispered, "I can feel my master's presence."

Xuan Zhiyan, who had been watching the show with amusement, was taken aback. He suppressed his smirk, looked down at Wu Tuo who was sniffing the air intently, and said in a deep voice, "You mean Wei Feng?"

Utuo nodded, excitedly saying, "His aura is very faint, but I'm sure he's my master! Let's go find him quickly!"

It tried to crawl out of the sleeve, but a hand grabbed its neck without warning.

"Zhiyan?" He tilted his head and looked at Xuan Zhiyan in confusion.

Xuan Zhiyan's expression was unreadable. After a long while, he finally spoke, "Is he still alive?"

"Of course!" Utuo was certain of this.

Xuan Zhiyan's tense expression eased slightly, but he did not release Wu Tuo. He said in a deep voice, "You have never formally formed a Dragon Rush Contract with Wei Feng, so he cannot be considered your proper master."

Wu Tuo disagreed, saying, "No, Wei Feng is my master. He brought me out of the cave and saved my life. I want to be his spirit pet to repay him properly."

“He never cared about you at all.” Xuan Zhiyan subconsciously tightened his grip. “His heart was completely chasing after that Jiang Gu. You’re better off without a master like that.”

Wu Tuo grabbed his hand between his thumb and forefinger, and licked his fingers, which were trembling slightly from excessive restraint. "Little Daddy, you clearly miss Master too. He's right here. Shall we find him together?"

Ever since Xuan Zhiyan reprimanded him, he stopped calling Xuan Zhiyan "Little Daddy." Although he initially only wanted to tease him, Xuan Zhiyan clearly resisted the title.

Xuan Zhiyan looked at Wu Tuo with a cold eye.

“I have severed all ties with him. Whether he lives or dies is none of my business. If you insist on following him, then never appear in front of me again. The choice is yours.”

Wu Tuo looked at him helplessly, and paced around anxiously.

——

Southeast of Heguan City.

Yao Li peered out through the crack in the window. The street was covered with a dense array of magic formations. Although there was only one person in purple robes on the street, the other party had extremely high cultivation. He seemed to sense the prying gaze and suddenly raised his head.

Before he could look over, Yao Li closed the window and reinforced the layers of magic array.

"How is it?" Jiang Xiangyun asked.

Yao Li looked at him. Jiang Xiangyun was covered in injuries. He shook his head. "The people from the Burning Platform Palace have such powerful magic arrays that there was no chance of escaping."

They could only try to counter the enemy by increasing the number of magic arrays.

"Young Master, why did you insist on choosing Heguan City to meet with Xiao Qingyan and the others?" Yao Li asked, puzzled.

“Other places may not be peaceful either.” Jiang Xiangyun pressed his dislocated wrist back into place. “If we go all the way there, the Misty Rain Tokens we carry will attract a lot of trouble. It would be better to have Xiao Qingyan come to us. Besides, don’t you think there’s something fishy about the fact that they issued the Misty Rain Tokens first?”

Yao Li's expression suddenly turned serious. "Young Master means—"

“Before fishing, there’s always bait to lure the fish. Don’t you think that we Pingze cultivators…” Jiang Xiangyun tapped the table, “are no different from bait in themselves?”

"These people from Wangyue Continent have ill intentions, young master. Why should we let them lead us by the nose?" Yao Li's voice was cold, filled with killing intent.

“The Jiang family has long been a target of envy and criticism. Wangyue and Pingze are so far away. If I hadn’t come, Wangyue and its people would have had a perfect excuse to target the Jiang family. The previous war between Songsui Tower and Linglong Sect was a warning from Wangyue to the Jiang family. However, they were unable to spare the resources due to the rebellion of the Eight Pavilions.” Jiang Xiangyun said, “Now that I’m here, I have to find a way out for the Jiang family.”

Yao Li, unfamiliar with the intricacies of these family power dynamics, said in a deep voice, "This subordinate will protect you, young master, with my life."

Jiang Xiangyun said helplessly, "Uncle, you really are—"

Yao Li looked at him solemnly.

Jiang Xiangyun sighed and smiled, "Okay, I understand."

Meanwhile, at the White Bone Gate.

The door to the White Bone Palace was pounded on violently from the outside. "Open the door!"

The crowd in the hall fell silent. Bai Yi's voice slowly rang out in the air, "My White Bone Palace has always only done business and never dabble in worldly affairs. Many of you in the Burning Platform Hall are my guests. Why do you have to make things so ugly?"

“Lord Baique, you’re exaggerating.” A tall, purple-robed cultivator landed at the doorway and stood there. He lifted his hood to reveal a terrifying face. The upper half of his face was intact, but the lower half was all bones. “I also came from our Baique Palace, so I know that you, Lord Baique, have a compassionate heart.”

Bai Yi looked at the other person, his expression changing slightly, "Bai Luan".

Bai Luan smiled and touched her chin. "It's been a long time, sister."

The monks in the hall immediately became alert.

"Bai Luan?"

"Is it Feng Bailuan, the genius from the Eight Pavilions?"

"It should be him. Only those in the top ten can keep their names..."

"It's actually Feng Bailuan. We're probably in big trouble today."

"Not necessarily. After Feng Bailuan defected, he was severely injured, his cultivation level plummeted, and he has long since become half-human, half-ghost..."

Bai Yi ignored their discussions and instead sent a telepathic message to Jiang Gu, Qu Fengyu, and the others.

"Run!"

"I'm afraid it's too late!" Bai Luan shouted. The gate of the White Bone Palace finally shattered and the fierce attack rushed towards the cultivators in the hall, but was barely blocked outside by another equally powerful formation.

"Get out of here!" Bai Yi shouted to the crowd of cultivators.

The cultivators inside the hall scattered and fled. Seeing this, Bai Luan ordered the people behind him, "Chase them!"

"It's been decades since I last saw you, and your cultivation has certainly improved." Bai Luan activated his spiritual power with one hand, while the other hand remained casually behind his back. He pressed closer, his voice filled with disgust. "You'd rather help a stranger you've only met a few times than lend me a hand, Bai Yi. I advise you to quickly put away your ridiculous kindness."

Bai Yi stood behind the counter, gradually finding it difficult to maintain the formation in his hands.

Wei Feng and Jiang Gu mingled in the crowd, not rushing to escape. After all, the cultivators who fled the fastest had already been melted by the outermost array. There were already cultivators fighting with the purple-robed man around them, but they were quickly defeated and forced to retreat.

In the chaos, Wei Feng caught a glimpse of a familiar profile and suddenly reached out to grab the person, exclaiming, "Xuan Zhiyan?!"

The other person abruptly broke free from his grasp, turned around, and said in a menacing tone, "Are you looking for death?!"

Wei Feng knew he had mistaken the person for someone else, but he didn't have time to laugh at himself. He and Jiang Gu's cultivation levels were not high among this group of people, so they could only try their best to hide and wait for an opportunity to escape.

Jiang Gu's concealment formation, combined with his ghostly mist, was enough to give them a chance to catch their breath in the midst of the chaotic battle.

“Although Bai Yi is no match for him, her primordial spirit is extremely powerful. It will not be easy for Bai Luan to kill her.” Wei Feng carefully observed the surrounding environment. “When Bai Luan kills her, he will have to use a lot of spiritual power. The surrounding magic array will loosen for a moment. Master, we can take this opportunity to escape.”

Jiang Gu nodded, put his arm around his waist, and pulled him behind him.

Wei Feng looked at the person blocking his way, his expression growing increasingly gloomy.

As Wei Feng had expected, Bai Yi was indeed no match for Bai Luan, and several high-level rogue cultivators had already broken through the formation and escaped. Seeing this, Bai Luan no longer suppressed his strength and launched a fierce attack on the exhausted Bai Yi.

Seeing that Bai Yi had nowhere to avoid it, several streams of spiritual energy rushed towards her from all directions, trying to help her resist the magic array. However, due to their limited cultivation, the magic array still pressed down heavily.

Bai Luan revealed a sinister smile upon seeing this.

However, at that moment, a snow-white sword light cleaved the counter in two. Bai Yi, who had already given up hope, stared wide-eyed in astonishment and saw Jiang Gu's calm face and his outstretched hand. She instinctively reached out to grab it, but then quickly pulled it back. "Go! Don't worry about me!"

The counter was scattered, and Bai Yi's skirt was bound by countless fragmented white bones. Those eerie white bones spread deep into the ground like tree roots, binding her firmly in place and unable to move.

The Crimson Snow Sword swirled and cleaved straight at the roots of the white bones. Wei Feng, who had been covering him, gritted his teeth, and his ghostly runes suddenly pierced out, severing the white bones by the roots along with the Crimson Snow Sword.

And all of this happened in the blink of an eye.

The magic array crashed down, and Jiang Gu and Wei Feng, along with Bai Yi, seized the opportunity to transform into streaks of light and fly past Bai Luan, escaping in a flash.

A fierce and powerful divine sense relentlessly pursued him from behind. Jiang Gu narrowed his eyes and looked at Xiao Qingyan, who was still fighting in the sky. He then threw Bai Yi, which he was carrying on his shoulder, up into the air. "Xiao Qingyan! Catch!"

Just as Xiao Qingyan was about to annihilate the other party, he heard Jiang Gu's voice, paused for a moment, subconsciously caught the "thing" that Jiang Gu threw to him, and then met the gaze of the still-shaken Bai Yi.

Bai Luan, who had been pursuing them, suddenly turned ferocious upon seeing Xiao Qingyan, shouting, "You're asking for death—"

Holding the person, Xiao Qingyan was forced to accept the attack without any other choice: "??!"

The culprit behind all this has already hidden itself in a concealment formation.

Jiang Gu didn't rush to leave. Instead, he squinted and observed Bai Luan and Xiao Qingyan's battle. Suddenly, he heard Wei Feng's soft voice:

"Master, why did you save her?"
