Chapter 73 ANC Radio (Part 1)
On a weekend night, viewers who had just finished watching Wax&Wane’s latest channel group variety show excitedly opened the ANC Radio app and waited for the show to begin.
After an advertisement, ANC Radio's iconic opening music sounded, followed by several familiar voices.
"Good evening, listeners! I am An Jue Sui from Wax&Wane!" An Jue Sui was full of energy as he introduced the arrangements for the two special programs: "This week and next week's ANC Radio will be hosted by the five members of our Wax&Wane. I hope everyone can enjoy this time."
Then the four members introduced themselves one by one and started chatting about the topic to introduce today's program.
"Our latest episode of the group variety show was just released an hour ago. I wonder if all our listeners have seen it." An Juesui said in a relaxed tone.
Chen Xun smiled and said, "After listening to the last broadcast plan, you should have discovered that Jing Xing actually slightly - spoiled a little bit of the plan content."
Jing Xing coughed twice: "Ahem, before the show started, I took a quick look at the audience's reactions. Everyone said they guessed the beginning, but not the ending."
"Just hearing the name of the Indoor Sports Games, it would be hard for anyone to guess this development." Jiang Hechu didn't know whether to laugh or cry. He had wanted to say it very much during the recording a few days ago.
"Indeed." Ji Qifeng agreed: "If you must say it, it should be called the Indoor Stillness Meeting."
This week's Wax&Wane group variety show is about indoor sports games, but it's a slow-paced version. In general sports competitions, the fastest or strongest person wins, but this project is the exact opposite.
Starting from the basic sprint event, the five people were not willing to be outdone and pushed their snail-like pace to the extreme. It's clearly a sport to measure speed, but a few people made it feel like a space walk.
Step by step, staggering and difficult, it seems as if what is underfoot is not the solid structure of the Shenghuang Building, but a huge and far-reaching step like landing on the moon.
All in all, in order to slow down the process as much as possible, the five people used various strategies, from space walking to looking back every three steps. The most extreme one, Jingxing, even played like a wooden man and was almost kicked out.
Recalling the "lively" indoor sports meeting a few days ago, the members are still frightened.
Jing Xing was deeply touched: "This is the legendary life lies in stillness..."
"It would be great if the physical fitness test for school was like this." An Juesui sighed and expressed his daydreamy thoughts: "Then I would definitely be far ahead... No, far behind."
Jiang Hechu joked: "It seems that I am the winner?"
"Give people a chance to dream--" An Juesui hummed and stretched out the sentence.
Chen Xun seemed to be thinking about something, and added considerately: "An Juesui also won a small project, I remember it was..."
"Uh..." An Juesui and Shen Xun spoke.
“This is not important!”
"Reverse standing long jump."
Everything in indoor sports planning is done in reverse, so unlike the standing long jump, the reverse standing long jump, as the name suggests, is done backwards.
However, in order to prevent snail-speed running, where "trying too hard" can result in recording the transition from dark to dawn, the standing long jump is simply done in the opposite direction, while the maximum distance is still taken.
Ji Qifeng added casually: "This result is rare."
"Yeah, because he did a back flip." Jiang Hechu glanced over with a cold look.
“Haha…” An Juesui smiled awkwardly: “The rules don’t forbid it…”
When recording this segment, An Juesui was the last one to "jump". He suddenly had an idea and did a back handflip onto the ground, which was much faster than other people's records.
The four people watched and condemned An Juesui for committing a foul. The staff was under great pressure and quickly looked up the standing long jump rules, but found that there was no problem at all with the palms touching the ground, which made several people fall silent.
There are so many things to talk about during the indoor sports meeting. If we let the members keep talking, they might not even finish until dawn...
An Juesui wiped the non-existent sweat from his forehead, changed the topic according to the time, and started the formal segment by introducing the BGM.
"Okay, next is ANC Radio's regular letter-reading session. Hosted by Wax & Wane, the theme of these two episodes is to help everyone solve their problems. Now let's take a look at the listeners' letters..."
An Juesui opened the first letter prepared by the staff: "Listener, can coriander disappear from the earth? My recent trouble is that my colleague likes coriander too much. Recently, he even changed his perfume to coriander flavor. This makes me very distressed because I never put coriander in spicy shredded pork. What should I do?"
"Hmm... this listener's worries are very understandable." An Juesui agreed crazily in his heart. Coriander should disappear from the earth: "The smell of coriander is very strong. If a colleague who works with you day and night always smells like coriander, it will really affect your mood."
Jiang Hechu caught a completely different point: "Spicy shredded pork without cilantro? Isn't it just stir-fried pork with chili peppers?" It's hard to imagine that even if you hate cilantro, spicy shredded pork is still called spicy shredded pork...
"Maybe a little bit of coriander was added for garnish." Jingxing touched his head: "It tastes quite good with a little coriander. I didn't like it before, but after trying it, I think it's not bad. Maybe I can give it a try..."
Before Jingxing finished speaking, Ji Qifeng shook his head and said, "Just a little bit of coriander will change the taste completely. I can't accept it at all."
Shen Xun, who is the most skilled cook among the five, also said affirmatively: "It is indeed true. People who don't eat it won't touch it at all."
An Juesui nodded frantically. Coriander was one of those scary plants that could destroy a whole dish just by putting a little bit of it in. It was just like the Doom Mushroom in Plants vs. Zombies. It would show no mercy to itself while destroying its enemies. One breath of it would make you feel your soul would be twisted.
Jingxing was still trying to defend himself: "Coriander really adds flavor..."
An Juesui realized something and interrupted him: "Jingxing, you don't like coriander very much..."
"Well... I think I like it..." Jingxing's gaze drifted away.
"It's over, there's a traitor among us!" An Juesui said with a painful look on his face: "My listener, I deeply sympathize with your experience."
Jiang Hechu said with some amusement: "It's just coriander, why is it so exaggerated?"
Ji Qifeng nodded: "I can't stand the taste."
It was obvious that the camp that eats coriander and the camp that doesn’t eat coriander were now evenly matched within Wax & Wane, and the four of them all looked towards Shen Xun.
"You're obviously here to help listeners solve their problems, why are you so entangled?" Chen Xun smiled helplessly: "It's understandable whether you like or hate coriander, as long as they don't interfere with each other."
An Juesui nodded, then reacted and spoke very quickly: "But can Coriander disappear from the earth? This listener has obviously been attacked by magic from the Coriander Fanatics. The behavior of this colleague who loves Coriander directly interferes with the living space of the Coriander Fanatics."
Jingxing choked. An Juesui's tongue-twister words, "Isn't it coriander?", successfully confused him.
But Jiang Hechu is not a vegetarian, and he mocked: "When you go to eat hot pot, would you ask the guests at the table next to you not to eat cilantro? Cilantro exists in this world and can appear in various places. If you hate cilantro, why don't you just not eat it yourself?"
Jingxing was full of admiration. Jiang Hechu's words completely expressed the thoughts of coriander lovers.
An Juesui was not to be outdone: "The guests at the next table won't put coriander in my pot, but the coriander fragrance will spread throughout the space, which is pollution to the public domain! Just like it is tacitly agreed not to eat stinky tofu in public places, the same goes for the coriander smell."
Ji Qifeng nodded repeatedly and silently applauded An Juesui for not being led astray by Jiang Hechu.
Jiang Hechu showed a mocking expression, and was stopped by Shen Xun just as he was about to speak.
"Wait, wait!" Shen Xun didn't know whether to laugh or cry: "The point is not at all what the coriander is like..."
Chen Xun took a deep breath and sorted out his thoughts: "The problem this listener wants to solve is that he doesn't like the smell of his colleague's perfume. We don't care what kind of perfume it is... let's assume it's the smell of stinky tofu... perfume is fine."
The outrageous metaphor drew the four people's attention back.
"Pfft... perfume that smells like stinky tofu, can it still be called perfume? It should be called stinky water." An Juesui complained.
Jiang Hechu subconsciously argued: "Perfume is a noun, not an adjective plus a name."
An Juesui looked incredulous: "Huh? What did you say?" Why is Jiang Hechu so argumentative today...
Chen Xun saw that something was wrong, and the two were about to pull each other madly again, so he quickly stopped: "Whatever water it is, just treat it as something that bothers the audience..." For the first time, I felt so tired...
Glancing at the duration, An Juesui shuddered and pretended to be relaxed: "Okay, since the captain has said so. I think this is the solution..."
Jiang Hechu was relieved when he saw An Juesui becoming serious. The members began to discuss half-jokingly and half-seriously, and finally came up with a proposal.
"You can pretend to be casual and ask the colleague what perfume he uses, and then hint that the previous one smelled better. If you have a good relationship, you can also find an opportunity to give him a farewell perfume. Combine these things, and your colleague will realize it after thinking carefully."
It was obviously just a simple question, but everyone felt dry mouth after solving it. It was time for the commercial break, so they all turned off the microphones and drank some water to take a short break.
After drinking the water, An Juesui began to flip through the script. He quickly flipped through it twice before the commercials were over and he stared at the other side of the table in boredom.
Jiang Hechu could feel the burning gaze even when he lowered his head. He raised his eyes to An Juesui and raised his eyebrows: "What's wrong?"
"He Chu, you're too talkative today." An Juesui said sadly, "But I was also wrong. This session almost exceeded the time limit."
Jiang Hechu couldn't help laughing: "Then be more restrained from now on?"
An Juesui thought for a moment and said, "Actually, this would be quite interesting. Just be careful with the time management."
After saying that, he still couldn't help but: "He Chu, are you in a good mood recently?" He was having a lot of fun teasing him, and there was always a smile on the corner of his mouth, which was a little different from usual.
Jiang Hechu's eyes turned: "Maybe."
The commercial ended and the show was about to return. An Juesui didn't have time to ask more questions, but he was sure in his heart that Jiang Hechu was in a very good mood recently.
The program continued, and the members were humorous and solved the problems of several listeners who wrote in.
Entering the break again, Jingxing quietly browsed the audience's real-time discussion and couldn't stop laughing: "It's over, we have caused a coriander war."
On Weibo, ANC Radio listeners talked passionately and indignantly about coriander, successfully sparking heated discussions among people who were unaware of the situation but swore to eat or not eat coriander.
Before the show was over, the discussion rate began to rise sharply, and everyone looked at the hot topics that were being debated on Weibo and looked at each other in confusion...
