Chapter 13: Fire Prevention, Theft Prevention, and Girlfriend Prevention

In Wang Yingzhi's eyes, Huang Minwei was her ideal daughter-in-law. In the month since I married Jiang Ruohe, I only met her twice. One time was on our wedding night. What I waited for was not Jiang Ruohe, but her. She scolded me and said the most unpleasant words, even cursing my mother who died early.

Another time was when I had a miscarriage. Because Jiang Mingzhe told her about her, she came to see me and found out that I had murdered Huang Minwei's child. She poured all the chicken soup on my face.

Wang Yingzhi picked up the pink evening dress that Liu Ma handed her and tried it on me twice.

"This is the latest high-necked dress. It really suits you. Put it on quickly."

Wang Yingzhi said that Jiang Ruohe's aunt Jiang Ting had returned to China. In order to welcome her sister-in-law, she held a welcoming party at the hotel and invited some of her good socialites.

I looked at Wang Yingzhi and did not take the dress from her hand. Wang Yingzhi hurriedly said that Jiang Ting wanted to see me.

"Your aunt said she really wanted to see what Ruohe's daughter-in-law looks like, so she asked me to take you there."

I clearly knew this was a trap, but Wang Yingzhi was my nominal mother-in-law after all. If I refused, it would not seem good.

"good."

I changed into a dress and followed Wang Yingzhi into the venue. She enthusiastically introduced me to those socialites as her daughter-in-law.

After a walk around, Wang Yingzhi told me that Jiang Ting would arrive at the hotel in half an hour and took me to the lounge to rest.

After a while, Wang Yingzhi received a call saying that Jiang Ting had arrived.

"I'll pick her up first and arrange for you two to meet later."

I nodded and said okay. After Wang Yingzhi went out, I sat on the sofa to rest. I waited for half an hour, but she didn't come back. I thought that since Jiang Ting had already arrived, I was the younger one after all, so I should go see her first.

I went downstairs and arrived at the venue, watching Wang Yingzhi and a woman who was as elegant and graceful as her talking with those socialites.

I walked over slowly and called out "Auntie". Jiang Ting paused and continued talking to those socialites. I felt very embarrassed by her ignoring me.

A smile flashed across Wang Yingzhi's eyes and she called out to Jiang Ting.

"This is Ruohe's daughter-in-law, Yu Xiaowan."

Jiang Ting then turned to look at me and glanced at me indifferently.

"Isn't Ruohe's wife called Minwei? How come..." She turned to look at Wang Yingzhi.

The socialites surrounding her all looked at me. Wang Yingzhi smiled awkwardly and said that this was a long story.

"Ruo He was drugged, and somehow he killed Min Wei's best friend..."

Wang Yingzhi's words made those socialites look at me strangely. They probably thought that it was most likely me who drugged Jiang Ruohe.

Jiang Ting suddenly laughed and said, "It's really important to be careful of fire, theft and best friends."

"Yes, yes." Several people around echoed.

Although it is very embarrassing at the moment, I must control my emotions tomorrow. If I refute or argue, it will only make others laugh at the Jiang family. I will still be in the Jiang family and will not be liked by anyone except grandpa.

Seeing that I didn't react, Wang Yingzhi glanced at me and changed the subject.

Just then, I heard someone calling "Mom" behind me, and Jiang Ting hurriedly turned around.

"Mom, the necklace I bought for my aunt is missing from the lounge."

I was about to turn around when I heard the girl pointing at the back of my neck and saying that the necklace was on my neck.

I shuddered and quickly turned to look at the girl opposite me. She was about eighteen or nineteen years old and was looking at me angrily.

"Yi Chen, did you misunderstand your sister-in-law?" Jiang Ting asked.

"How is that possible? This is something my aunt specifically asked me to buy for her."

No wonder Wang Yingzhi gave me a high-necked dress. It turns out she ordered this one for me.

"Xiao Wan, Ruohe and I were so good to you in the past, but I didn't expect you to be so greedy." Wang Yingzhi no longer hid her disgust for me and was the first to come out and accuse me.
