Chapter 7: All this is thanks to you
I looked at Jiang Ruohe and wanted to refute him, but then I thought it was normal for him to make such a mistake.
After all, my grandfather came over right after I was discharged from the hospital. He felt sorry for me and naturally thought that Jiang Ruohe bullied me.
"Xiao Wan, where are you hurt? Grandpa didn't mean it."
Jiang Mingzhe was full of heartache and kept apologizing to me, then turned and glared at Jiang Ruohe.
"Look, even though you treat Xiaowan like this, she still protects you so much. You're really going too far. I think you want to go to Africa?"
I sighed inwardly, "Oh no!" My grandfather's protection of me would only make Jiang Ruohe hate me even more. He might even think that I had deliberately blocked Grandpa's stick for him. I raised my head to look at Jiang Ruohe, and sure enough, he looked at me with disgust, which made me feel even worse.
I know that the more I explain, the more he will think I am scheming. If I don’t explain, my grandfather will be more biased towards me, and Jiang Ruohe will still think I am scheming. The image of me in his mind has been fixed and cannot be changed at all.
After thinking about it, I decided that no matter how much he hates me, I have to make this matter clear.
"Grandpa, you really misunderstood. He was very good to me. I just felt that the hospital was too noisy and asked to come back to recuperate. I've discussed this with Ruohe. Believe me, it's true."
I walked over to Jiang Ruohe and took his hand. Jiang Ruohe's eyes were full of resistance and warning, but I pretended not to see it. I leaned my head on Jiang Ruohe's shoulder and told Jiang Mingzhe with a smile that he had been particularly good to me these past few days.
Jiang Mingzhe seemed a little unconvinced and asked me if it was true. He also said that if I was wronged, I must speak out.
"He's really good to me, husband, don't you think?"
I turned to look at Jiang Ruohe and whispered in his ear, asking him if he really wanted to go to Africa.
Jiang Ruohe looked at me with hatred in his eyes. He put his arm around my waist and put his face close to my ear.
"Yu Xiaowan, all this is thanks to you. If I go to Africa, I will definitely take you with me."
I trembled, but he held me tighter.
"Grandpa, Xiaowan and I are doing fine." That fake smile really made it difficult for him.
Jiang Mingzhe still scolded Jiang Ruohe a few words and asked him to be nicer to me. Jiang Ruohe nodded.
"I saw Xiao Liu prepared dinner, so I'll stay today. Please help me prepare a guest room." Jiang Mingzhe looked at Liu's mother.
Aunt Liu nodded and immediately went upstairs to set up a guest room, which was right next to my bedroom.
While eating, Jiang Ruohe's cell phone, which was placed on the table, vibrated twice. I took a look and saw that it was Huang Minwei calling, but Jiang Ruohe hung up the phone.
Jiang Ruohe finished eating quickly and stood up to leave, but was stopped by Jiang Mingzhe, who asked him where he was going.
"A client wants to talk to me about something."
"Just stay home and take care of Xiaowan, and let Assistant Wang go and talk."
Jiang Ruohe hummed and turned to go upstairs. When he went upstairs, Jiang Mingzhe kept staring at him with a complicated look in his eyes. Then he came back to his senses, looked at me with a smile, and asked me to eat more.
When I entered the room, Jiang Ruohe was taking a shower in the bathroom. His cell phone on the bedside table rang again. It was Huang Minwei calling. She must have been very afraid that he would be alone with me.
After Jiang Ruohe came out, he immediately called Huang Minwei back. After a while, I heard Huang Minwei sobbing on the phone, saying that she was afraid of being alone in the hospital and had stomach discomfort or something.
"But Grandpa is..."
Seeing Jiang Ruohe carefully comforting Huang Minwei, I stood up, took out the bed sheet from the closet, opened the window, turned to look at Jiang Ruohe, and said silently that he could go.
A complicated look flashed across Jiang Ruohe's eyes, and then he immediately said that he would come over to accompany Huang Minwei.
He hung up the phone, walked to the window, and turned to look at me warningly.
"If Grandpa knew about this, I would never forgive you."
I smiled at him calmly.
"Don't worry about that. Let me stay in the same room with you. I would rather you go find Huang Minwei."
Jiang Ruohe walked up to me, reached out and pinched my jaw, his face cold.
"If you were so unwilling, why did you go to so much trouble to climb into my bed and break up Minwei and me?"
