51 Red Market Ghost Abyss

51 Red City Ghost Abyss

After passing through the Red Market, the noise gradually faded away, and a vast green forest suddenly appeared in front of us. Giant trees that were over a hundred years old covered the sky and the ground. Occasionally, miasma could be seen floating in the forest. This was the outskirts of Ghost Abyss.

The soil under my feet became softer and moister, and a foul smell filled the air. The branches of the trees grew wildly around me, like withered arms, casting eerie ghostly shadows in the darkness.

Hua Lang was very cautious and didn't even dare to step on a blade of grass, for fear of causing any more trouble.

Seeing her staring down at the ground, Jing Yunzan smiled and said, "This is just the outskirts of the Ghost Abyss. No demons will appear here. There's no need to be so nervous."

Hua Lang then raised her head and asked, "Is the depths of the Ghost Abyss still very far from here?"

Jing Yunzan said, "We have to at least get out of this forest. The latter part can be considered deep. However, you are only a mortal. Once you find the people Cangluan left on the periphery, you will stay with them in a safe place."

Hua Lang nodded. At this moment, Pei Miu, who was leading the way at the front, suddenly drew his sword and shouted in a voice as deep as a bell: "Everyone, be alert. There seems to be some movement up ahead."

Shan Yue and Hua Lang were walking together in the center of the group. Seeing Jing Yunzan also step forward to investigate the situation, he turned around and said to Hua Lang innocently, "Don't be afraid. Senior Brother told me that there will probably only be some low-level magic clams here. He will definitely protect us all!"

Hua Lang unconsciously rubbed the mask on her face and nodded at the words. She felt uneasy, as if something was amiss. However, the Cangluan disciples had entered the Ghost Abyss first, so it was impossible for them to stay in the Red Market. Perhaps it was just her illusion.

“Rustle—”

There was a slight noise coming from the bushes, and everyone was instantly alert.

"Be careful!" Pei Miu swung his long sword, and as the bushes were scattered, several monsters that looked like wild wolves but covered with scales jumped out from the shadows, rushing towards him with sharp fangs!

The blade scraped against the scales, and flames burst out. One of the demon wolves was forced back, but the remaining ones, with their green eyes still locked onto the few people.

Jing Yunzhan drew his sword, exchanged glances with Pei Miu, and then decisively attacked the demon wolf's unscaled limbs. The demon wolf felt pain and instantly scattered into the forest, but the rustling sounds nearby indicated that they had not left, but were surrounding everyone!

As a "mortal" at the moment, Hua Lang could only pretend to be panicked while looking for the trace of the magic wolf.

Soon, a fishy smell flashed by. Hua Lang wanted to push Shan Yue away, but the team was suddenly disrupted by several other magic wolves. Hua Lang was forcibly taken a few steps to the side and stood in Shan Yue's position!

Her pupils shrank, and when she turned her head, she was faced with a huge mouth full of sharp teeth!

But in the blink of an eye, something strange happened. The demon wolves flew past her, as if completely ignoring her. One of them even brushed past the corner of Hua Lang's clothes without even turning its head.

Hua Lang froze in place.

Why didn't they attack her?

"Little sister, don't stand there, there is a demon wolf next to you!" Jing Yunzan saw her standing there in a daze and shouted anxiously.

Hua Lang came to her senses and quickly pretended to retreat in panic, but she was feeling uneasy. Although it was a good thing that these monsters ignored her, she was now surrounded by Yunfu disciples. If they discovered the anomaly, how would she explain it?

After defeating the demon wolf, strange things happened frequently along the way.

Although they had not yet entered the depths of the Ghost Abyss, monsters emerged from the forest one after another, causing their speed to slow down a lot.

But no matter what level the monsters were, they all tacitly avoided Hua Lang.

Pei Miu stopped, his brows furrowed beneath his mask. He slowly looked forward, "This year, the demons in the Ghost Abyss are much more agitated than in previous years. It's really strange."

Shan Yue was accidentally injured. He covered his arm with his hands, his big eyes full of fear. "Woo woo, big brother, let's go back."

Pei Miu flatly refused, "The monsters on this road have been cleared by Yunfu, and we haven't even reached the depths of the Demonic Abyss yet. How can we escape at this critical moment?"

Jing Yunzan also wondered, "These monsters seem to be coming for us, but this is clearly Yunfu's first time participating in the war. Besides, you and I are both wearing masks, so how could we have provoked so many monsters?"

Pei Miu did not answer, but his eyes swept towards Hua Lang inconspicuously.

Hua Lang keenly noticed his gaze, but could only pretend not to notice. Her heart skipped a beat. Someone suspected her!

Sure enough, the next second Pei Miu came towards Hua Lang with a knife in hand. He had clearly noticed something suspicious, but he only asked, "Is your husband really from Cangluan?"

Hua Lang nodded, not knowing what he wanted to do.

"Since they are from Cangluan, then it will be easy to deal with them." After saying that, Pei Miu thrust his knife in and said calmly, "The people from Cangluan are just ahead."

After hearing what he said, Jing Yunzan walked forward, and came back after a moment with surprise, "There really is a camp, little sister, maybe your husband is there, let's hurry over, we can still rest for a while!"

Hua Lang's heart sank. She was worried that her lie would be exposed, and she was also nervous about seeing Xie Hanjing again.

But there was no chance of escaping now. Pei Miu had already stepped forward: "Go over and take a look."

Being held by the crowd, Hua Lang could only bite the bullet and follow, quickly thinking about what to say next.

After walking around the huge trees, several figures soon appeared in front of us.

Someone heard the noise, looked back, and when he saw that it was someone approaching, he turned back and concentrated on doing something.

When they got closer, they heard the group's voices, "Thirty-one, thirty-two..."

"Forty-eight! Haha, it seems I killed the most this time!"

"Twelve... How could that be? I won't rest. I can still fight!"

Pei Miu stepped forward, bowed, and said, "My fellow Daoists, I am Pei Miu from the Yunfu Sect. I have a mortal woman here. Her husband is a disciple of the Cangluan Sect..."

Before he finished speaking, the Cangluan disciples who were sitting in front of the fire and had not paid attention to what he was saying suddenly became interested, "What? Someone's here again!"

"I hope she's Brother Wang's wife. He's so much better than me. It's really enviable!"

"Quick, who is it, who is she looking for?"

Jing Yunzan asked, "Little sister, what is your husband's name? Everyone here is from Cangluan, you can tell them and ask them to find him for you."

Hua Lang scanned the masked faces one by one and stammered, "His last name is Xie!"

"...In the village before, his name was Xie Xiaozhu."

Everyone looked at each other, Xie Xiaozhu?

There is definitely no Xie Xiaozhu here, but before entering Cangluan, there are many people who changed their names in order to completely escape from the mortal world. Maybe there really is such a person.

"Senior Brother Xie has gone to the depths of the Demonic Abyss. He should be back soon. If you're not in a hurry, why not wait here for a while?"

Hua Lang had just breathed a sigh of relief when he suddenly heard hurried footsteps coming from a distance.

"Look, what good stuff I brought back! Hahahaha!" Accompanied by laughter, a Cangluan disciple wearing a green-faced and fang-toothed mask came running over, holding a pitch-black object high in his hands.

Everyone was attracted by his movements and focused their attention to watch him. It was not until he was about to run into the camp that everyone saw clearly that what he was holding in his hand was a piece of honeycomb emitting evil energy!

Before he could ask, a buzzing sound followed, and a black swarm of bees rushed over!

"Thirty-seven, thirty-eight..." The man counted as he ran, his voice full of excitement, "I'm sure I'll be in the top ten this time!"

At first, the crowd was laughing and watching the excitement, until they saw the scale of the bee swarm.

"Fuck, run!"

The man, still unaware of the problem, rushed to the center of the camp. He stopped and shouted, "Why are you running? Form a formation! Don't you want the ready-made points?"

The others couldn't hear him; the scene was already in chaos. Though individually weak, these demonic bees, in large swarms, could even force even Jindan cultivators to retreat. Their stingers were venomous, designed to destroy spiritual energy. A few stings would dissipate spiritual energy and poison would enter the body!

"Ouch!" The disciple was stung by the demonic bee. Turning back, he realized something was wrong. He shouted in panic, "That's not right! I only took a piece of the honeycomb..."

The swarm of bees was already approaching, looming like a dark cloud. Several quick-witted Cang Luan disciples quickly formed a formation, wielding spiritual energy to slash and kill dozens of them, but more demonic bees surrounded them from all directions.

“Stand back!”

Seeing this, the innocent people in Yunfu who were affected could only grit their teeth and fight back. Pei Miu pushed Hua Lang behind him, swept his long sword across, and the sword energy split a swarm of bees.

But the bee swarm was not like other bees. Even in the center of the crowd, there were still magic bees that could get in. Fortunately, these magic bees, like other monsters, ignored Hua Lang. Some of them even flew past her hair without any intention of attacking.

Being stuck here like this is not a solution!

While everyone was in a panic, Hua Lang pretended to be panicked and staggered towards the place where the swarm of bees was most dense.

"Little sister, don't go over there!" Jing Yunzan shouted anxiously.

Hua Lang turned a deaf ear and plunged into the bee swarm. A strange scene happened - the demon bees seemed to have encountered their natural enemies, and they gave way and made way for her. In the center of the bee swarm was the beehive that was thrown away by Cangluan's disciples!

Hua Lang picked up the beehive and ran towards the deep forest. After struggling with everyone for a while, the demon bee chased away in the direction Hua Lang left.

The people who were bitten and covered with poisonous bites were still confused.

"This..." Shan Yue's eyes widened, "The devil bee won't bite her?"

Hua Lang was unsure, she didn't know what was in the depths of the forest, but she absolutely could not take the magic bees to the periphery. Seeing that the ancient trees were becoming increasingly sparse and there were no disciples from other sects around, Hua threw the beehive out.

Turning back, she saw a dense swarm of demonic bees swarming towards her. At this moment, a bright sword light descended from the sky.

"Zheng!"

The sword energy was like frost, and the demon bees fell wherever it passed. The remaining bee colonies seemed to be frightened, not knowing whether it was because of Hua Lang or the sword energy, and they fled in all directions with a buzzing sound.

Hua Lang looked up and saw a familiar figure walking out of the deep forest.

It was the person I saw at the stall.

He raised his sword and placed it three feet in front of Hua Lang. The tip of the sword was dripping with dark green bee blood. The forest wind blew up the corner of his clothes, and the thin lips under the mask were pressed into a straight line.

Hua Lang's breathing hitched. She could feel that gaze, as if it had substance, scrutinizing the mask on her face inch by inch, as if trying to see through this disguise and see her true face.

"What's your name?" Xie Hanjing asked, his voice as cold as a spring.
