How did the Nine-Headed Venerable prove to the Cave of Ten Thousand Snakes that he had come in to incubate his offspring?
Lu Henge was pondering this question.
The Nine-Headed Venerable One cannot be pregnant.
so.
There must be some kind of vulnerability.
Lu Henge thought for a moment, and suddenly, a detail came to mind.
Snakes reproduce in a different way than humans.
Strictly speaking...
A snake can be born in two ways.
The first type of birth occurs when a creature is formed inside a snake's belly, becoming a snake egg. From the moment it becomes a snake egg, it means that the creature has been born. So even if it fails to hatch and dies inside the snake egg, it can only be considered to have died young.
The second type of birth is even simpler.
That's hatching!
Snakes lay their eggs, and after a period of incubation, the baby snakes hatch from the eggs.
Following this line of thought, Lu Henge pondered for a moment and roughly guessed how the Nine-Headed Venerable had proven to the Ten Thousand Serpent Cave that he had come to incubate offspring.
The Nine-Headed Venerable does not need to reproduce.
He only needs one thing on him.
Those are snake eggs.
His serpentine bloodline proved to the Cave of Ten Thousand Serpents that he was of extraordinary birth, while the snake eggs in his hands proved that he was there to incubate his offspring.
I've figured these things out.
Lu Henge didn't feel much joy.
It's still the same problem.
Lu Henge could not imitate the way the Nine-Headed Venerable proved himself.
The Nine-Headed Venerable can use snake eggs to prove the simplicity of his purpose to the Ten Thousand Snake Cave, but what does Lu Henge have in his hand?
There was nothing there.
certainly.
Lu Henge could create a completely new life, but this new life had nothing to do with snakes, so it couldn't fool the Ten Thousand Snake Cave.
Lu Henge sighed: "Seniors, it seems we've been tricked."
Then.
Lu Henge told Meng Po and Di Xin his speculations in detail.
Meng Po and Di Xin were both surprised that Lu Henge could think of so many things, but they were also troubled by the same thing as Lu Henge. If what Lu Henge said was true, then the three of them were trapped here. They had no way to leave and return to the outside world, nor could they enter the real Ten Thousand Snake Cave.
In a short time.
All three of them looked worried.
Is there really no other way?
Meng Po asked.
Lu Henge gave a wry smile: "Senior Meng Po, I can't think of a solution right now. How about... you recall the ancient books you've read? Although there's a possibility that the book is made up, it can't be entirely fabricated, right? It should be half true and half false."
Upon hearing this...
Meng Po coughed awkwardly.
That kid Lu Henge really knows how to bring up the most sensitive topics.
Meng Po didn't want to mention that ancient book anymore, but Lu Henge brought it up again.
but.
Lu Henge is right.
Given Meng Po's experience, the fact that she initially believed this ancient book to be genuine means that it actually contained something, rather than being complete nonsense.
Meng Po closed her eyes and recalled the ancient book.
"This ancient book is too thick."
"I've made a copy of my memories, so you can all look at them together."
Meng Po was quite helpless.
Lu Henge reminded her, "Senior Meng Po, it would be best to make a complete copy of this ancient book, not just a section, otherwise it would be easy to miss a lot of things."
Meng Po gasped.
Good heavens!
You little brat, you're trying to kill me!
Meng Po looked miserable. She really knew how to make things difficult for herself. However, without this ancient book, Meng Po might not even be able to find where the Cave of Ten Thousand Snakes was. Speaking of which, the contents of this ancient book were indeed a mixture of truth and falsehood. At least the information about the location of the Cave of Ten Thousand Snakes was true.
"You need to be mentally prepared, this book... is really thick."
Meng Po suddenly felt tired.
Lu Henge didn't pay much attention.
It's just a book.
How thick can it get?
It's about the same thickness as an adult's height, reaching the sky.
Meng Po sat cross-legged and began to calmly imprint the contents of the ancient book in her mind.
Much later.
Meng Po opened her eyes, waved her hand, and three identical ancient books appeared in front of Lu Henge and Di Xin.
Just one glance.
Lu Henge and Di Xin were dumbfounded.
Di Xin was a man of few words, and he rarely spoke unless prompted. But upon seeing the ancient book, he couldn't help but utter a curse: "Holy crap, this is a book?"
Lu Henge was dumbfounded.
Lu Henge thought that no matter how thick the book was, it would at most be about the same height as a person.
I never expected this.
This ancient book is ridiculously thick.
Lu Henge looked up and couldn't make out how tall the ancient book was at all; it was taller than a mountain.
Lu Henge swallowed hard. It was his fault; he had underestimated the true meaning of the "thickness" Meng Po spoke of.
but.
Lu Henge laughed and said, "If we look it up normally, it will definitely take a lot of time, but if we use our divine soul to browse it, it won't take too long."
Meng Po looked at Lu Henge with pity, which made Lu Henge feel a chill run down his spine.
Meng Po said softly, "This ancient book cannot be read with one's soul; it can only be read with the naked eye. When Emperor Xin went into seclusion for ten years, it took me a full ten years to finish reading this book. After finishing it, I swore to myself that I would never read it a second time, but I didn't expect to break my promise."
This ancient book is protected by a special power.
This force poses no danger, but it compels you to look through it with your own eyes.
