Chapter 27 It Was Him

"Princess, how are you feeling? Will you feel better after drinking the medicine?"

Lin Wan'er put the bowl aside and covered Shui Yaoyao with the quilt.

"Hehe, how can it be effective so quickly?" Shui Yaoyao said with a giggle.

Lin Wan'er chuckled and shook her head. The princess really had a childish temper. She had just said she didn't want to drink it, but she finished the medicine in the blink of an eye.

"Sister Wan'er, you should go back and rest first. I don't need your care. You are still very weak." Shui Yaoyao said worriedly, looking at the pale-faced Lin Wan'er.

"It's okay, I've been like this since I was a child, don't worry."

"Sister Wan'er, is there anything wrong with your health?" Shui Yaoyao asked.

Lin Wan'er's eyes dimmed and she turned her head away from Shui Yaoyao.

"It's a problem I've had since birth. I've gotten used to it over the years, so I don't take it seriously anymore."

"I'm sorry, Sister Wan'er." Looking at Lin Wan'er's reaction, Shui Yaoyao naturally knew that it was not as simple as she said.

"Why is the princess apologizing?" Lin Wan'er wiped her eyes, turned her head and smiled.

For some reason, Shui Yaoyao felt a little blocked in her heart when she looked at Lin Wan'er's pale face.

"Sister Wan'er, tell me about this. If you keep it bottled up inside, you'll get sick."

"well."

Lin Wan'er sighed softly, "Princess, are you willing to listen?"

"Yeah." Shui Yaoyao nodded.

Lin Wan'er bit her lip, a flash of memory in her eyes.

"My mother passed away when I was just born." Lin Wan'er said.

"Gone? Where did he go?" Shui Yaoyao asked puzzledly.

Lin Wan'er was stunned for a moment, then smiled bitterly, "Mother left, she went to a faraway place."

"I'm sorry." Shui Yaoyao stuck out her tongue and didn't react for a moment.

Without paying attention to these, Lin Wan'er continued, "When my mother was pregnant with me, she caught a cold and never recovered from it. It was also because of this that she passed away the day after I was born."

Although Lin Wan'er's tone was very calm, as if she was talking about someone else's affairs, Shui Yaoyao felt a little distressed.

"When I was six years old, my father awakened my spiritual veins and found that there was something abnormal about them." When she said this, Lin Wan'er's voice trembled slightly, as if she was afraid of something.

"abnormal?"

"Yes, Dad didn't know what the problem was at first, but I just couldn't practice. Until a year later, my father brought back a senior monk. After examining me, the monk sighed and said some strange words."

"What words?" Shui Yaoyao asked.

"It's extremely cold and evil, and you can't enter the world."

"What does this mean?" Shui Yaoyao asked with a frown.

"I don't know either. The monk only told me that I would not be able to practice in the future. And, I don't know what happened, the monk went crazy overnight." When she said this, Lin Wan'er's face seemed to become even paler. That night was unforgettable for her.

"Crazy?" Shui Yaoyao blinked her big eyes, and her little hands couldn't help but lift up the quilt. She always felt a little cold on her back.

Lin Wan'er's eyes flashed with fear. "Yes. That night I was awakened by a sound like the roar of an animal. I got out of bed and looked outside through the crack in the door. I saw a man on all fours, with bloodshot eyes and a ferocious expression, as if a beast was biting him."

"What happened next? Where did the monk go?" Shui Yaoyao asked.

"Then the monk was taken away by my father and his men. If I hadn't seen the monk's robes, I wouldn't have been sure it was the monk."

"Later, I asked my father about it, and he said that something went wrong when he was saving people before the monk came, and that's why he went crazy. Since then, my father has kept silent about my spiritual vein. He just makes me take a medicine regularly every year to suppress the extreme cold energy in my spiritual vein, so that I won't die from the cold energy entering my body."

After saying that, Lin Wan'er let out a sigh. She had never told these things to anyone before. Today was the first time she opened up her heart. That night left a complete shadow on her.

"I feel like this matter is so weird." Shui Yaoyao sat up and shook her head.

"Okay, let's not talk about this anymore. Tell me your story." Lin Wan'er said with a smile.

"Mine? What story do I have?" Shui Yaoyao shook her head. She had been living in the imperial capital since she was born and had never even set foot out of the palace. What story could she have to tell?

"What's wrong? Doesn't it show on this little face?"

"Ah? Is that so?" Shui Yaoyao touched her face and asked.

"Yes! Tell me what happened these past few days? I don't think it's just because His Highness doesn't allow you to go out and play, right?"

Lin Wan'er asked, "Girls understand girls better." This statement is indeed true, because she can see that Shui Yaoyao has other things in her mind.

"Oh, it's nothing serious. It's just that he hasn't come to play with me these days. I clearly asked the maid to tell him where I am!" Shui Yaoyao pouted and said angrily.

"Who is he?" Lin Wan'er thought to herself that something was wrong.

"He, he's a very good big brother!"

When Shui Yaoyao mentioned him, she became obviously interested, with a cheerful smile on her face.

"I met him on the day I first arrived at Beast Taming City. I sneaked out that day and happened to be hungry. I wanted to buy some meat buns, but I realized I had no money. I happened to run into him, and not only did he buy me ten big meat buns, he also took me to..."

Shui Yaoyao paused for a moment, then said, "He even took me to a restaurant for a feast, all made of monster meat! That meal cost him 100,000 gold coins!"
