"Pu Weichao, give me your backpack," I said, reaching out my hand.

Pu Weichao took off his backpack and gave it to me. Inside the backpack were food, water, and medical supplies.

I was worried something might happen when I came here, so I brought some medical supplies. I didn't think I would need them, but I didn't expect to use them now.

I cleaned the wound on the back of Zhang Zhihao's head. The wound wasn't deep; it was just a scrape. A little blood had flowed out the instant it broke, and then it congealed on its own.

I don't need to suture him or anything; I can just disinfect him and wrap him in gauze.

Pu Weichao asked, "Is the kid alright? Could he have suffered a concussion?"

"There will be a little, but it's not serious. At most, you'll feel dizzy and nauseous when you wake up, but it will be fine after a few hours. Don't worry, it's not serious," I said.

"Oh, that's good, that's good." Pu Weichao breathed a sigh of relief.

Aww!

At that moment, the monster outside was scratching at the office door, acting very arrogantly.

Fei Lichao said, "I'm going to go out with Lao Yan and kill those beasts outside. You guys stay here and wait for us to come back."

The other four of us had no objections to this.

Zhang Zhihao is now injured and unconscious, and needs someone to stay with him.

The moment Fei Lichao opened the door a crack, a monster roared and reached its hand in.

Yan Zhengfeng acted decisively, firing two shots to kill the two monsters blocking the door. Taking advantage of the empty space, the two opened the door and fought their way out.

Pu Weichao closed the office door to prevent any other monsters from entering.

Ten minutes later.

Pu Weichao said worriedly, "Why haven't Fei Lichao and the other two come back yet? It's been ten minutes. Could something have happened to them?"

I stood by Zhang Zhihao and said, "Do you think it's possible?"

“What’s impossible? They’re both human too!” Pu Weichao said. “No, should I go take a look?”

I looked at him and thought that Fei Lichao and the other two had indeed been gone for too long, and there hadn't been any news from them yet, which was worrying.

“I’ll go with you,” Lu Jing said to Pu Weichao.

Pu Weichao didn't even ask for my opinion, and said directly, "Okay, Xiaonan, you stay here and take care of this kid. Jingjie and I will go out and look for them."

"Be careful," I said before they left.

"Don't worry," Pu Weichao said to me, then closed the door and left.

I raised an eyebrow, looking at Zhang Zhihao who was still unconscious in front of me, feeling somewhat helpless.

It will probably take him some time to wake up.

I stood up from the floor, glanced at the small office, and suddenly remembered my high school. I studied at Wutong High School, but I figured it was pretty much the same as here.

Whenever I think of high school, I can't help but think of one person.

It wasn't Xu Xin, the girl I had a crush on in high school, but one of my cousins.

Although we're called cousins, we're not actually related by blood. It's just that her father and my father were very close and considered each other brothers. Plus, our grandfathers' generation also had a good relationship, so she's considered my cousin.

Her name is Wang Luyao, and she seems to be studying at Jiajiang College. Jiajiang College is different from the vocational college in front of this school; it is an undergraduate institution located further inside Jiajiang City.

"I wonder if that girl is still alive?"

We had a pretty good relationship, but after we went to university, we saw each other less often, basically only during the Chinese New Year when we had New Year's Eve dinners.

You can't see them at other times at all.

"I hope he's still alive."

That's all we can do.

Forty minutes later, around one o'clock in the afternoon, Zhang Zhihao woke up.

The first thing he asked when he woke up was, "Am I dead?"

I patted his cheek. "You're not dead. You're still alive and well. Come on, open your eyes wide and look at my fingers."

I waved my finger twice in front of his eyes.

His eyes followed my finger as it moved from side to side, which meant there was nothing wrong.

"Are you dizzy?" I asked.

Zhang Zhihao shook his head slightly and said, "I'm not dizzy, it just hurts."

"Hmm, it's okay if it hurts. Can you get up?"

Zhang Zhihao sat up from the ground, then stood up by holding onto the table, and looked at me.

"Are you dizzy?" I asked again.

Zhang Zhihao nodded this time and said, "A little."

I nodded. "Lie down, lie down for a while, and you won't feel dizzy anymore."

Hearing my words, Zhang Zhihao lay back down on the ground and asked, "Brother Lu, where are the others?"

I said, "They're probably cleaning up the second teaching building right now. Don't worry, they're all fine, you don't need to worry about them."

How would I know they were cleaning up the second teaching building?

I was relieved to see them cleaning up the monsters in the second teaching building from the window behind my office. All four of them were there and safe.

"Can we move in today?" Zhang Zhihao asked.

“Yes, of course they can,” I laughed. “Judging from their appearance, they should be able to clear out the monsters in the teaching building in about two hours. By then it will still be light enough for us to make a round trip to the outskirts.”

"Hmm." Zhang Zhihao nodded, his eyes fixed on me, as if he wanted to ask something, but he opened his mouth and ultimately didn't ask.

Seeing his hesitant expression, I felt a little helpless and asked, "Just say what you want to say, don't hold it in."

Zhang Zhihao nodded, scratched his head, and said with a troubled expression, "I just have a question I want to ask you, Brother Lu."
