Chapter 106 Psychological Problems

Before five o'clock, Fei Lichao and his group arrived at the school with all three vehicles and all the resources.

We parked the car in front of the administration building and unloaded all the resources from the car, just in case.

It was getting late, so everyone started making dinner and getting ready to eat.

Everyone was all smiles at being able to move to this new environment; it was the most comfortable night they'd had since leaving Linshan.

Because whether in the wild, among college students, or near mountains, everyone inevitably hears the roars of monsters around them.

But now it's very quiet at school; there's only the sound of the wind outside, and no other noise.

Everyone felt that they could finally get a good night's sleep.

After dinner, I went to the rooftop of the administration building alone, felt the cold wind, and watched the snowflakes fall again.

I really wanted a cigarette, but I didn't have one on me.

I leaned against the railing, facing the empty street outside, my mind in turmoil.

I've been thinking about what Pu Weichao told me.

Provide psychological counseling to each person.

What should we do?

This is really bothering me; I don't know what to do.

I rarely pay attention to everyone's situation. After all, I still can't let go of Wu Shuang's passing. I think of her many times, and I'm just forcing myself to stay positive.

If it's a psychological problem, then mine is probably the biggest.

But there's nothing I can do. I'm a doctor, and my team trusts me. Right now, I can only put my own problems aside and try to stabilize the team before dealing with my own issues.

I don't know what to do in the future.

I just hope that nothing bad happens to the people around me.

I sighed, tightened my coat, and watched as the snow fell heavier and the cold wind howled. I couldn't take it anymore.

I turned to go downstairs, but just then, a light suddenly flashed in the distance, startling me.

"Um?"

I stopped and looked in surprise in the direction from which the light was coming.

At that moment, another beam of light came from behind the school. The light disappeared in a flash, but reappeared in a short while.

I stared in the direction the light was coming from, frowning and muttering, "That's... the dormitory building?"

"Why is there a flash of light in the dormitory building? Could there be a living person inside?"

I had my doubts.

Immediately, the flash started again.

"Xiaonan, I was just looking for you. What are you doing up here?"

Pu Weichao's voice came from the stairwell entrance. He came to my side with a flashlight, "Damn it, why is it so cold on this rooftop? Xiaonan, stop standing there, come down with me, it's awfully cold here."

"Look over there," I said, pointing in the direction of the dormitory building.

"Which way?" Pu Weichao asked, looking in the direction I was pointing.

Suddenly, the lights from the dormitory building flickered again.

"Did you see that?" I asked.

"Yes, I see it, there's light!" Pu Weichao nodded, then waved his flashlight on the rooftop.

The light from the direction of the dormitory building seemed to sense something, and its swaying speed increased considerably, but then it disappeared again.

"Holy crap, could there be a living person in the dormitory building?!" Pu Weichao exclaimed in surprise.

"Should we go take a look?" I asked.

Pu Weichao looked at me and shook his head, saying, "No, it's already night, and it's so dark. Going there would just be asking for trouble. Even if there are really people there, they won't die if they stay one more night. Let's go tomorrow morning."

I didn't object to his statement; it was indeed too dangerous at night.

"Then let's go tomorrow morning."

"Okay, let's not stay here any longer. It's terribly cold in this snowy weather. Let's go."

...

The next morning, while everyone else was still asleep, Fei Lichao and Yan Zhengfeng were the first to wake up.

Pu Weichao and I woke up one after the other.

Regarding the light we saw flashing near the dormitory last night, Pu Weichao told Fei Lichao and Yan Zhengfeng about it yesterday. So after waking up, we planned to go over there as soon as possible to check if there were any living people there.

We started from the administration building and walked at a leisurely pace for seven or eight minutes to reach the dormitory building.

"Which building did you see yesterday?" Fei Lichao asked.

I thought about it and looked back. From the administration building, I could only see the first dormitory building at most. The dormitory buildings behind it were blocked, so I couldn't see them.

"It should be the first one," I said.

Fei Lichao nodded, "Let's go upstairs and find someone."

The first dormitory building seemed to be a girls' dormitory; we noticed it as soon as we entered.

Because various girls' underwear were hanging on the dormitory balcony to dry.

Based on the height of the flash I saw yesterday, it should be between the fourth and fifth floors.

We entered the dormitory. Since there were very few monsters in the dormitory, we didn't start by checking each room from the first floor. Instead, we went directly to the fourth floor to search.

When Pu Weichao went upstairs earlier, he took a large bunch of keys from downstairs, which should be the dormitory keys.

Upon reaching the fourth floor, we looked through each room one by one, but many of them were devoid of monsters and living people; everything was eerily quiet.

We didn't see any living people even after we had checked the entire fourth floor.

Upon reaching the fifth floor, we continued our inspection, but after several minutes, we still hadn't seen any living people, or even a single monster.

"Could you guys have made a mistake?" Fei Lichao asked.

Pu Weichao shook his head: "It's not that we were mistaken, we did see a flash of light over here last night."
