(I went out of town today and realized I forgot to set up the update, so it's late. Three chapters today, five tomorrow. The first chapter is posted first.)
"Don't run in, it's too dangerous inside!" Pu Weichao shouted again immediately.
Zhang Zhihao, who was ahead, seemed to hear our shouts and stopped. The monster chasing him had been attracted by Pu Weichao's shouts and turned around, staggering towards us.
As for Zhang Zhihao, he didn't run towards the stadium, but instead ran towards the parking lot on the other side.
"Damn it, Pu Weichao, what do we do now?" I clenched my fist and saw a monster that was close by being killed.
"What else can we do? Charge out!" Pu Weichao raised his knife and chopped off half of the monster's head.
Together with him, we kept slashing at monsters, our bodies splattered with countless stinking blood, until we finally carved a path and then chased after Zhang Zhihao.
That kid wasn't far from us, and there were a lot of monsters in the parking lot, so he wasn't running very fast.
We kept chasing forward, and large swarms of monsters followed behind us. Three extremely fast monsters caught up with us. I heard the clattering of footsteps, looked back, and was immediately terrified.
A monster ran right behind me, and I quickly dodged it. The monster that pounced on me missed its target and fell to the ground. Pu Weichao was furious and plunged his knife into its head.
But it wasn't over yet. Two more incredibly fast monsters pounced on Pu Weichao from behind. Before Pu Weichao could even react, the two monsters knocked him to the ground and opened their mouths to bite him.
Pu Weichao reacted swiftly, managing to trap the object in the mouth of a monster, allowing it to slowly bite.
I rushed over, ignoring the large group of monsters behind me, and slashed down another monster that had fallen next to Pu Weichao. Then, Pu Weichao used his strength to flip over and straddle the monster. With a forceful press of his hands, the cleaver stuck in the monster's mouth split the monster's head in two.
What just happened was a near-death experience.
We were both panting, and when we looked behind us, a huge horde of monsters was chasing after us.
As for what lies ahead, Zhang Zhihao is trapped between two cars, with monsters blocking his way from all sides. He doesn't know what to do.
We rushed over, and Zhang Zhihao cleverly climbed onto the roof of the car, intending to escape.
We went there, hacking and slashing our way through.
I yelled, "Zhang Zhihao, you little brat, stop right there!"
When I shouted that, Zhang Zhihao paused for a moment, but didn't stop, continuing to jump on the roof of the car.
Pu Weichao and I climbed onto the roof of the car and chased after them, one after the other.
The roof is safer than the ground, since those monsters can't climb up there.
There weren't many cars in the parking lot. The cars in front of us were parked side by side, so it was easy for us to jump on them. But there were no more cars ahead. Let's see what Zhang Zhihao will do!
Zhang Zhihao quickly realized there were no cars ahead. Seeing the monster on the ground, he was still terrified, but he closed his eyes and jumped down anyway.
"ah!"
A moment later, we heard his scream, but it wasn't continuous; it was just one scream, and it didn't sound like he had been bitten by a monster.
I was taken aback. Had this kid sprained his ankle again?
We rushed over, and sure enough, the kid had sprained his ankle again.
After the kid twisted his ankle, he fell to the ground and couldn't stand up. The monsters around him rushed forward, and he kept backing away on the ground, his face full of fear.
Pu Weichao and I jumped out of the car and killed the monsters.
When Zhang Zhihao saw the two of us, he seemed very scared, his face full of terror, as if he were more afraid than if he had seen a monster, and I don't know why.
"I..." he seemed to be about to say something.
I interrupted him, saying, "Don't say anything, we'll talk about it when we get back."
We helped him leave through another door of the stadium.
Along the way, Pu Weichao and I took turns carrying Zhang Zhihao, since the kid was too heavy.
A dozen minutes later, we returned to the school gate.
When they returned, Fei Lichao was already waiting at the school gate, but Yan Zhengfeng did not appear. He was probably sent away by Fei Lichao, since Zhang Zhihao was his enemy and it was better not to meet him now.
When we got back to the dorm, I checked Zhang Zhihao's foot and found that there was nothing wrong with it. He had just twisted it and would be fine after a few hours of rest.
When Zhang Zhihao returned, Li Qiming, his brother-in-law, immediately rushed over, grabbed his clothes with one hand, and angrily scolded, "You brat, are you out of your mind?! Do you know how worried we were about you going out like this?! What if something happened to you? How am I supposed to explain this to your sister?"
"Brother-in-law, I'm sorry," Zhang Zhihao said, bowing his head in apology.
Pu Weichao and I changed into clean coats and went to Li Qiming's dormitory, where we witnessed this scene.
Snap!
Li Qiming slapped Zhang Zhihao without hesitation. "You brat, do you know you're going to kill someone?! If you want to die, just jump off a building. Why did you have to run away?"
"I didn't want to die..." Zhang Zhihao said in a low voice.
"You...you believe I'll beat you to death!" Li Qiming roared, raising his hand as if to strike again.
I quickly went over and grabbed Li Qiming, saying, "Alright, alright, everything's alright now that he's back. Don't be so angry. Your wound hasn't healed yet, so don't get upset."
Li Qiming lowered his hand, his face pale and covered in cold sweat, and said to me, "Xiaonan, I'm so sorry."
I said, "It's not his fault. Anyway, he's back. Since everyone is safe, everything's fine."
Zhang Zhihao glanced at me but didn't say a word.
...
This matter is now temporarily settled.
Pu Weichao led me to the end of the corridor.
I asked, "Why did you drag me here? Have you come up with a plan?"
Pu Weichao nodded and said, "I guess so, but it's a bit unreliable."
"What method?" I asked curiously.
Pu Weichao said, "It's a very simple solution. Just make sure they don't see each other. Then we can have Yan Zhengfeng stay in another dormitory building. That way, as long as the patrols and surveillance are staggered, there won't be any problems."
I frowned: "But this is only a temporary solution. We can't just keep them from seeing each other for the rest of their lives, can we?"
Pu Weichao said, "What can you do? We can only leave it at that for now. We'll talk about the future later."
I nodded. "Alright then, we'll do it your way."
Pu Weichao nodded: "You go find Yan Zhengfeng, I'll go find Zhang Zhihao."
...
After asking Fei Lichao, I went to the dormitory rooftop and saw Yan Zhengfeng standing silently in the cold wind.
I walked over and said, "There's something I want to tell you."
Yan Zhengfeng turned his head, seemingly not having heard what I said, and said to me, "I want to go see Zhang Zhihao."
"Huh?" I was taken aback.
Before I could react, he walked past me and went downstairs.
He just said he was going to find Zhang Zhihao? Holy crap! I hurriedly chased after him.
