"rush!"

As soon as the captain gave the order, Liangzi grabbed his gun and rushed out. As soon as he opened the door, a monster pounced on him.

Liangzi didn't fire the gun; he simply kicked it away and rushed towards the infusion area on the left.

"Keep up!" The captain gave me a hard shove from behind.

Wu Shuang held my hand tightly, and we followed closely behind Liangzi. Liangzi led the way. Although most of the monsters in the infusion area had left, a few were still lingering there.

As soon as Liangzi rushed over, he opened fire and killed them. Gunshots rang out continuously, and the monsters blocking his way fell one after another.

I'm a little worried that the gunshot might bring back the monsters we lured away earlier.

The captain followed behind us, constantly alert to anything behind us.

After walking through a 40-meter-long corridor next to the infusion area, we turned and entered an emergency exit.

The entrance to the hospital is just a dozen meters ahead.

It seems that these two soldiers came in through this door.

Seeing the exit ahead, I couldn't help but feel a little excited. After being trapped in the hospital for three whole days, I could finally leave!

I could feel Wu Shuang's hands trembling; clearly, she was also very excited.

We're about to leave!

Liangzi stepped out the door first, and I followed behind him, intending to go out with him.

Unexpectedly, as soon as Liangzi went out, a monster pounced from the side and instantly knocked him to the ground.

"Ah!" Wu Shuang and I were so frightened that we stopped in our tracks and dared not go out.

The captain, who was outside behind me, saw this scene, quickly pushed me aside and rushed out. As soon as the gun fired, the monster was killed by him.

"You two, come out here right now!" the captain shouted, pulling Liangzi up from the ground.

We didn't dare linger and followed the two of them towards the SUV in the distance.

"Get in the car quickly!"

They practically shoved us into the back seat of the car. After they got in, Liangzi started the engine, and it roared to life.

Looking around, I realized I was on the edge of the hospital parking lot, surrounded by quite a few monsters.

The captain took out his walkie-talkie and asked, "Leopard, where are you? Get back to the team!"

There was no sound from the walkie-talkie, only a hissing sound.

A moment later, a voice came through the walkie-talkie, "Captain, I'm on the other side of the hospital. This side is full of those monsters. Don't worry about me, go back first. I have a way to escape!"

The captain frowned: "Leopard, wait for us, we're coming to rescue you right now."

"Captain, don't come to save me! You can't get here! Go back quickly, the battalion commander won't be able to wait much longer!" Leopard's voice came through the walkie-talkie.

The captain was torn, his face showing difficulty, and finally he could only say, "Then be careful!"

"Don't worry, Captain, I, Leopard, will definitely be back to report before dark!" After Leopard finished speaking, there was no sound from the walkie-talkie.

Upon hearing the car engine, the monsters around the hospital turned around and walked towards them, some of them moving so fast they practically ran.

The captain knew they couldn't wait any longer; the monster was already right next to the car, and it would be dangerous if they didn't leave soon.

As soon as he gave the order, Liangzi stepped on the gas and set off.

I sat in the car, holding Wu Shuang's hand tightly, because we were still afraid.

I thought it would be much safer outside the hospital than inside, at least there wouldn't be so many zombies gathered together, but seeing the situation before me, I knew I was wrong.

The thought of hordes of monsters rushing towards the car is terrifying.

It's safe to say that it's more dangerous outside than inside the hospital.

The captain put away his walkie-talkie, turned around in the passenger seat, and said to us, "You two, look at me."

Wu Shuang and I looked up, staring at him with fear in our eyes.

"My name is Fei Lichao, and I'm the captain of the assault team. What are your names?" the captain suddenly said to us.

Wu Shuang and I each gave our names.

Fei Lichao nodded and said, "I'm sorry for asking you to take off your clothes earlier. I didn't mean anything by it; I just wanted to make sure you were safe."

“I understand,” I said, and Wu Shuang nodded as well.

Fei Lichao, without a smile, said, "The main reason I led this team to find you doctors is that our battalion commander has had an accident, and there are many patients in the air-raid shelter. The key issue is that the military doctor is dead, so we need your help. When we go back this time, even if I die, neither of you can die, understand?"

I nodded blankly, looking at his serious face, afraid that if I shook my head, he would shoot me dead.

I gleaned some information from his words. For example, that the battalion commander had been in trouble, and that the air-raid shelter was at least safe.

I hope the journey will be safe.

Outside the car window, I struggled to open my tired eyes and saw the shattered world before me. The bustling traffic was long gone, and the hustle and bustle had vanished. Only the roars of monsters and the desolate sound of the wind lingered.

I never imagined that in just three days, the world would have become like this.

Is it the same in other places?

I wonder how my parents are doing.

With a rumbling stomach, Wu Shuang blushed and looked at Fei Lichao, asking, "Is there anything to eat?"

Fei Lichao glanced at us a few times and asked, "How long has it been since you've eaten?"

"It's been more than two days," I said, licking my chapped lips.

Fei Lichao was generous, taking out a pack of compressed biscuits and a bottle of water from his backpack, saying, "This is all I have. You two can share it. It'll fill your stomachs first, and I'll give you something hot when we get back to the air-raid shelter."
