My shoulder hurts a lot, and my steps feel unsteady.
Pu Weichao seemed anxious. He said, "Release him, and you can keep the bag of guns. If you're worried that we'll take action after the transaction, we can retreat outside the house. After you get the guns, we can release Xiaonan. That way, we won't pose any threat to you!"
"Tsk tsk tsk." Lu Ding shook his head. "I didn't expect this guy surnamed Lu to be so important to you. You got so anxious after I fired a shot. If I had really killed him, you might have fought me to the death."
Pu Weichao angrily retorted, "What exactly do you want?!"
Ludin said, "I don't want anything. I've said it before, I want all your guns, including the ones in your hands. If you don't give them to me, then there's nothing to talk about."
The pain in my shoulder was unbearable. I glanced at Pu Weichao, then shifted my gaze to Zhou Liang. I hoped he could step forward and help, since Pu Weichao was completely disoriented and only he could help resolve the situation.
However, Zhou Liang remained expressionless, seemingly having no intention of helping at all.
I closed my eyes and started thinking about how to resolve this matter.
Giving all the guns to Ludin is obviously impossible; once Ludin gets his hands on them, he certainly won't spare any of us.
But if we don't give it to him, he won't compromise.
Currently, the situation has reached a complete stalemate.
Pu Weichao roared, "Lu Ding, let me tell you, if Xiaonan dies, none of you will live either!"
Lu Ding wasn't buying Pu Weichao's act at all and said, "You can try."
With the two sides locked in such a stalemate, I felt like I was about to die.
At my current rate of bleeding, I'll definitely die in less than an hour.
Lu Ding wasn't in a hurry at all, but Pu Weichao was very anxious.
After a short while, Pu Weichao said, "Since we can't reach an agreement no matter what we do, how about we each take a step back?"
Luding nodded. "Okay, how do you want to withdraw?"
Pu Weichao said, "You want all the guns we have, right? I can give them all to you, but you have to do as I say."
Lu Ding scoffed, "On what grounds?"
Pu Weichao said, "This matter won't do you any harm! I'll have the others on my side throw all their guns on the ground, and they'll wait outside. Then, I'll stay here alone and exchange Xiaonan with you, how about that?"
After listening, Lu Ding seemed to be deep in thought, but did not rush to answer.
I looked across and saw that Fei Lichao seemed unwilling to do this, but in the end he couldn't persuade Pu Weichao, so he had no choice but to agree.
Pu Weichao asked, "What do you think? If you're willing, I'll let them out now."
Luding sneered, "Your method is not bad."
Pu Weichao did not respond, because Lu Ding had not yet agreed.

Pu Weichao regained his composure and said, "No problem."
Ludin said, "Then let's begin."
I breathed a sigh of relief. No matter what Ludin was up to, once the deal started, Pu Weichao basically had the upper hand. No matter what he did next, Pu Weichao would probably find a way to resolve the crisis.
Pu Weichao gave a wink to the men beside him, and they all handed over their weapons and left the room.
Soon, only Pu Weichao remained on the other side, holding an assault rifle in his hand for self-defense.
Pu Weichao said, "Go ahead and check. Didn't you want to check the gun? As for the one I have, you have to give me a chance to defend myself, right?"
Ludin said, "I didn't say I wanted the gun you had."
"You guys, go and get the guns and check them, check them the way I taught you."
After Lu Ding finished speaking, several people beside him came to Pu Weichao, took away all the guns, and returned to their side to begin the inspection.
Pu Weichao wasn't in a hurry.
Lu Ding wasn't in a hurry at all. He said to Pu Weichao, "Checking the gun will take some time. How about we talk?"
Pu Weichao frowned: "What's there to talk about?"

Pu Weichao laughed and said, "Really? Then I'm a little curious about what kind of retribution it is, but even if it is retribution, it should be better than what you're going through."
Ludin smiled dismissively: "That makes no sense."
Pu Weichao said, "What do you want me to say? We've been at odds ever since we met. Don't think of yourself as a victim. You don't deserve to be. Your face is the result of your own actions. It has nothing to do with me."
Luding's eyes turned cold. "Aren't you afraid that if you provoke me like this, I might kill him in a fit of anger?"
He pressed the pistol against my head, which made me feel a chill run down my spine.
Pu Weichao frowned: "No, if you kill him, I'll just take all of you down with me now. You should know who will suffer the greater loss then."
Luding nodded: "That's true. Trading so many of our lives for just two of yours is far too cheap for you."
