The long-haired girl was bitten on the shoulder. If it were on the arm, there might be a chance of saving her, but on the shoulder, I have no way to help her.
"I don't want to die, I don't want to die... Waaah... Save me, Xintong, save me..." The long-haired girl cried, her face pale, as she tugged at the short-haired girl's clothes.
The short-haired girl knelt on the ground, hugging the long-haired girl and crying, saying, "Xiaoxiao, don't worry, you definitely won't die, you won't."
"Xiaoxiao..." I was stunned the moment I heard this name, and I thought of Zhou Yang's girlfriend, Jiang Xiaoxiao.
He sighed silently to himself. He had wanted to go find her, but after arriving in Jiajiang City, he never had the chance.
Without thinking much, she glanced at the three boys standing to the side. Two of them were standing close together, while the other one was standing behind the short-haired girl with his hand on her shoulder, suggesting they were quite close.
But none of this concerns me. I've already saved their lives enough; there's no need to waste any more time on them.
I turned to leave.
But then, an unpleasant sound came from behind.
"Hey, did I say you could leave?!"
I stopped in my tracks, turned around in confusion, and looked at the short-haired girl who was shouting at me from behind.
The short-haired girl put down the weak, powerless long-haired girl, stood up, and glared at me angrily. I didn't understand why she was looking at me like that. I had saved her; did she expect to repay kindness with enmity?
The short-haired girl glared and yelled, "It's all because of you! You clearly saw us just now, why didn't you come and help us directly! Why did you wait until I called you to come over! How could you be so cruel! It's all because of you that Xiaoxiao got bitten. If you had come sooner, Xiaoxiao wouldn't have been bitten!"
I was surprised and, listening to her reproach, asked in confusion, "Are you blaming me?"
The short-haired girl yelled, "Nonsense! Who else is to blame but you! You're a despicable person! It's all because of you that Xiaoxiao became like this! Do you even know how good Xiaoxiao was? And then, because of you, you bastard, she died! What are you going to do about it?!"
I frowned and didn't say anything, assuming that the short-haired girl was just angry, which was why she said those things.
However, after she said those next words, I realized I had been overthinking it; she genuinely felt that it was my fault.
The short-haired girl said, "You despicable person, let me tell you, if Xiaoxiao dies, I'll kill you too, and make you pay for her death! I've seen plenty of people like you, always doing things for personal gain! You saved us just now, you must have taken a liking to me, right? Let me tell you, you despicable person, I'll make you suffer a terrible death, I'll make you pay for Xiaoxiao's death!"
Instead of getting angry, I laughed and stared at the girl in front of me. She looked to be about seventeen or eighteen years old. She was well-developed, had a good figure, and was quite pretty, but I wasn't interested in her yet.
The boy behind her seemed a little upset and stepped forward to pull the short-haired girl aside, saying, "Xintong, stop talking. No matter what, he saved our lives. This isn't right of you!"
The short-haired girl turned her head and angrily said, "Huang Yiyang! Get out of here, this is none of your business!"
The boy named Huang Yiyang sullenly pushed a few steps to the side, and when he looked at me, his eyes were full of apology.
I chuckled and said gently, "Classmate, your friend is right. I did save you, so it's really inappropriate for you to scold me like that."
The short-haired girl sneered, "Save us! Don't try to excuse yourself. How could someone like you really want to save us? If you really wanted to save us, you would have come long ago. You only came after Xiaoxiao was bitten. Do you think you're so great? Don't think I don't know you're a beast, a bastard, a piece of scum!"
My brow furrowed; I was very displeased.
Huang Yiyang became agitated upon hearing these words and angrily retorted, "Wang Xintong! That's enough! No matter what, he's our savior. Is it appropriate for you to insult him like that!"
Snap!
Wang Xintong, the short-haired girl, slapped Huang Yiyang across the face and yelled, "You coward! Are you even my boyfriend?! You're taking someone else's side! Don't you know that someone like him always has an ulterior motive for doing things?!"
"You, you hit me!" Huang Yiyang was stunned.
I was stunned when I saw this. This woman must be out of her mind to be so self-righteous.
I shook my head, too lazy to argue with her any longer, and turned to leave.
When Wang Xintong saw me leave, she became furious and shouted, "Hey, did I say you could leave?! I said you'd pay with your life for Xiaoxiao, I won't let you go!"
I ignored her and kept walking.
But after taking only two steps, a stone flew from behind and hit me on the head, causing a sharp pain.
I reached up and touched the back of my head, and there were bumps all over it!
I turned around and saw Wang Xintong grab a handful of stones from the ground and throw them at me.
"Are you crazy?!" I yelled.
Wang Xintong didn't answer and continued throwing stones at me.
I dodged the stone she threw at me, and I was furious.
I kindly saved your lives, and this is how you repay me? I'm not a saint, I could just kill you all.
I moved quickly, rushed forward, stood in front of Wang Xintong, slapped the stone out of her hand, and angrily said, "You really think I wouldn't dare to hit you, do you!"
Wang Xintong sneered at me, "Go ahead and hit me if you dare! See? I knew you weren't a good person, uh..."
Before she could finish speaking, I reached out and grabbed her neck, staring into her eyes, and said, "Do you believe I'll strangle you?"
