Chapter 264 Jiangbei and Biyuan

I hope you will all still be there for me on the road ahead.

...

After explaining things to Wang Hao, I went downstairs with him.

As I was going downstairs, I ran into Lu Yun, who was coming out of her dormitory on the third floor.

She paused the moment she saw me.

I stood at the top of the stairs on the third floor, staring at her.

"Dr. Lu, what's wrong?" Wang Hao asked.

"You can go now, I have something to do," I said.

"Okay." Wang Hao went downstairs.

I walked towards Lu Yun.

Lu Yun stared at me warily, but stood still without backing down.

I walked up to her, looked around, and then pulled her arm into the dark dormitory room.

"What do you want to do!" Lu Yun asked warily.

I said, "I don't want to do anything, I just want to ask you something."

Lu Yun said directly, "If you want to know if I was the one who threw the iron rod at Cui Xiaofei before, I can tell you that I was the one who threw that iron rod."

I didn't originally intend to ask this question, but the girl confessed it herself, which surprised me.

But I immediately retorted angrily, "Do you know you almost killed her?!"

Moonlight streamed in through the window, falling on half of Lu Yun's face. Her eyes looked wary and impatient. She said, "I knew you were nearby when I threw the iron bar. As long as Cui Xiaofei has any ability, she can naturally catch up. And even if she can't handle it, you will come to save her."

"Hmph, what if!"

"Where do you get so many 'what ifs'? She's not dead!" Lu Yun said.

I opened my mouth, but I didn't know what to say.

I feel very powerless when facing this girl.

I said, "Besides this, I want to know, was it you who saved me before?"

"No," Lu Yun answered decisively.

But I smiled to myself, certain that it was this girl who had saved me and Cui Xiaofei before.

It's likely that she brought those zombies to the second floor, but how exactly did she manage to do that?

Lu Yun looked at me without saying anything, her face a little flustered. "It's okay, it's okay, I'm leaving."

She opened the door to leave, but I grabbed her arm.

"No matter what, when you get to Chen Yefei's place, remember to protect them. I'm begging you," I said, looking at her.

Lu Yun glanced away, avoiding eye contact with me. Her expression shifted slightly, but returned to its original coldness. She nodded slightly and said, "Understood."

"Thanks."

"Don't thank me. I know my sister will definitely go to Jiangbei with you, so I don't want anything to happen to her. If anything happens to my sister, I'll kill you first!"

"Don't worry, I won't let anything happen to your sister," I said.

...

I've confessed everything that needed to be confessed, and things at school are officially over. I haven't told Zhang Zhihao about Fei Lichao and Wang Hao going to the Southeast Community.

Firstly, I didn't want him to know, and secondly, I didn't want to make things difficult for him.

A few minutes later, we all got on the bus and set off for Jiangbei.

Not long after we left the school gate, Fei Lichao and Wang Hao's two cars separated from us and headed east.

Zhang Zhihao didn't ask why, because Sister Jing had told him before that it would be safer for us to split into two groups just in case.

Zhang Zhihao clearly did not object.

In any case, our journey to Jiangbei is dangerous.

There were only four of us in the car: me, Zhang Zhihao, Sister Jing, and Sun Zichen.

They traveled north in silence.

The school is quite far from Jiangbei, and nobody knows what might happen on the way.

If the fat man who escaped earlier really returns to Biyuan, he will definitely tell the leader of Biyuan about this. Who knows, the leader of Biyuan might be lying in ambush on the road right now.

So, just in case, Zhang Zhihao didn't take the long way back, but instead took a much longer route.

A dozen minutes later, in the pitch-black night, the car headlights illuminated the road ahead, making me feel a little disoriented.

Zhang Zhihao then spoke, breaking the silence in the car.

"Brother Lu, do you remember when we first met?"

Hearing this, I was stunned for a moment, then smiled. "I remember, of course I remember. I went downstairs intending to leave, but who knew you would steal things from my car. If you had just stolen some food, I wouldn't have chased you, but you stole the medical supplies I had painstakingly retrieved from the hospital."

Zhang Zhihao said, "Yeah, I didn't think much about it at the time. I figured I was doomed once you got out, so I just grabbed it and ran. Honestly, Brother Lu, I didn't expect you to be so persistent in chasing me."

I smiled slightly, thinking back to those days, and suddenly felt a pang of nostalgia.

Zhang Zhihao continued, "However, if you hadn't chased after me back then, I probably would have died by now."

I shook my head. "You can't say that. Maybe if I hadn't pursued you, you wouldn't have sprained your ankle. But it's also fate that brought us together, and Jing-jie too."

Sister Jing smiled from the back seat, her eyes filled with nostalgia.

Her husband and daughter died in that kindergarten, and she doesn't want to recall it.

Seeing Jingjie's expression in the rearview mirror, I changed the subject and said, "Actually, before I met you guys, I suffered a lot in the hospital. To be honest, I was almost going crazy in the hospital back then."

"What happened?" Zhang Zhihao asked curiously.

Immediately, I began to recount what had happened to me.
