After leaving the air-raid shelter area, Fei Lichao led us into a safe store. It was a women's clothing store, but the shelves inside were all messy and disorganized.
"Holy crap, this knife is pretty handy. It makes cutting down these zombies a breeze!" Pu Weichao exclaimed in surprise.
On the way from the air-raid shelter, Fei Lichao killed two approaching monsters, and Pu Weichao beheaded one, so he is still in a state of excitement.
As for me, I was quite pathetic, hiding behind the two of them the whole time.
Fei Lichao glanced at the situation outside, patted Pu Weichao on the head, and said, "Stop showing off, come here!"
The three of us gathered together, and Fei Lichao said, "The closest hospital to the air-raid shelter is the one you were in before, Dr. Lu. If we want to get there, we'll have to take a detour, which will probably take a whole day. So, I'll say it again, for the rest of the journey, if you two want to survive, you have to listen to me, understand?"
"I understand." Pu Weichao nodded, a hint of excitement on his face, but he eventually suppressed it under Fei Lichao's serious gaze.
"Okay. I understand," I said, gripping the axe tightly, a sense of melancholy in my heart.
"Alright, let's go." After saying that, Fei Lichao turned around and went into the inner room of the women's clothing store.
I followed him inside and found that the back was a corridor, which was also the back door.
Upon reaching the back door, Fei Lichao glanced over the iron bars above, then turned to us and said, "There are two guys outside. You two take one each. I'll keep an eye on them. If there are any problems, I'll help you solve them, understand?"
"Mhm." Pu Weichao nodded hurriedly.
"Dr. Lu, are you sure you can do it?" Fei Lichao asked.
"Probably." I gave a wry smile. To be honest, I hadn't actually tried it, so I didn't know if I could do it.
"Alright, I'll keep an eye on things. Let me know if there are any problems." After saying that, Fei Lichao opened the back door and rushed out.
Pu Weichao and I followed closely behind.
"superior!"
As soon as Fei Lichao spoke, the two monsters heard him, turned around, roared, and staggered over.
Holding the axe in one hand, I took a deep breath and walked towards one of the monsters. The skin on the monster's face had been eaten away, and its two eyes were bulging out, making it extremely terrifying.
Pu Weichao was much more natural than me. After going up, he directly raised his machete and chopped down, splitting the monster's head in two, and it finally died.
"Dr. Lu, go for it! Don't be afraid, I'm here!" Pu Weichao said excitedly, shaking the blood off the knife.
I rolled my eyes and cursed inwardly, "Damn it, so be it!" Then, I picked up the axe and chopped at him.
puff!
The axe chopped right into the monster's head and got stuck inside. The monster tilted and fell to the ground. I held the axe and pulled hard to pull it out.
Seeing that we were alright, Fei Lichao said, "Pu Weichao, go over there and see how many monsters there are outside."
"Okay." Pu Weichao picked it up and headed to the exit.
Fei Lichao easily knocked on the car door, got in, and the car started up shortly after.
At this moment, Pu Weichao also rushed back from the exit and said, "There aren't many zombies outside, so it should be safe to drive out."
"Come on, get in the car."
We got in the car, and Fei Lichao stepped on the gas, and we officially set off.
When he reached the exit, Fei Lichao did not slow down and rushed out.
As soon as I came out, I saw those scattered monsters outside. They were scattered around in twos and threes. Cars sped by, and they didn't even have a chance to react.
By the time they turned around, we were already far away. Some of the monsters would take off after us, but no matter how fast they ran, they couldn't outrun a car.
The car headed south because the road in front of us led south.
As for the hospital, it's located to the east.
Hangzhou is a large city with many districts. We are currently on the edge of Longjiang District, and the nearest hospital is in Linshan District.
In the past, it would only take half an hour to get there by car.
But things are different now. Fei Lichao told us in the car, "On the first day of the outbreak, almost all the roads in Hangzhou were blocked to prevent the spread of the epidemic. So now if you want to go to the hospital, you have to find a way to take those small roads without cars. But you all know what the situation is like in Hangzhou. Before the outbreak, the traffic was already very bad. Now, almost the entire road is full of cars! So, if you want to get there, it probably won't take a whole day."
"Sigh, in the end, it's just that there are too many people," Pu Weichao said.
I didn't know what to say. Looking at the tall buildings outside the car, I thought that this city used to be incredibly noisy, bustling with people and cars.
But now, it's desolate and silent, as if I've entered another world.
The rest of the journey went much more smoothly than we had imagined.
However, because we kept taking detours, we didn't actually travel that far.
Actually, I had thought about whether I should collect medicines from pharmacies before.
However, this point was rejected by Pu Weichao and Fei Lichao.
The reason is simple: they don't know the situation of pharmacies, let alone where the nearby pharmacies are, and what if they encounter more unimaginable situations after going there?
Therefore, after careful consideration, I had no choice but to go to the hospital.
Fei Lichao was familiar with the situation inside the hospital and could control it.
Before I knew it, a morning had passed.
Fortunately, we arrived near the hospital in just one morning.
