Chapter 338 Fierce Battle

Only after Li Shujiang's convoy had completely disappeared did I emerge from the green belt.

"Awooo!" Just then, a roar came from behind me, startling me. I quickly ran forward a couple of steps, and the zombie behind me grabbed my backpack and almost pulled me to the ground.

After I broke free, I drew the machete from my waist, turned around, and chopped the zombie's head in two.

I took a deep breath and saw more and more zombies around me. I dared not stay here any longer. These zombies were all attracted by the explosion earlier.

There will probably be more and more soon, so I have to leave quickly.

Without stopping, I left the vicinity of the school and arrived at the residential area east of the school. I took out my keys from my pocket, went to a car, got in, started the car, and drove off.

...

Chu Yu stuffed the walkie-talkie into her backpack. She was currently on the second floor of a residential building. She turned her head, went to the window, turned on her flashlight, and could see the densely packed zombies below.

She smiled slightly and said, "In that case, let's begin."

After she finished speaking, she closed her eyes. Three seconds later, she opened them again. The smile on her face had disappeared, her eyes had become much sharper, and her entire demeanor had changed.

She has become Xiao Xiao.

Xiao Xiao looked at the flashlight in her hand and the densely packed zombies downstairs with a puzzled expression. Then she noticed that she was holding a piece of paper in her left hand.

The note read, “Follow the plan I told you before, force the people from Jiangbei and Biyuan to meet. Note: The people from Biyuan are already on their way.”

Upon seeing this, Xiao Xiao nodded slightly, put away her flashlight, took off her backpack, took out a machete, looked around and, finding nothing wrong, then took out a pistol and two magazines from her backpack.

She put her backpack back on, grabbed her pistol and machete, and put the two magazines in her pocket.

She glanced at the howling zombies downstairs, then walked downstairs expressionlessly.

Once downstairs, she stood inside the back door and tapped it with her machete. Instantly, the horde of zombies outside became agitated, all turning to look at the doorway, trying to squeeze in.

But the door was an iron door, and they couldn't squeeze in.

Xiao Xiao remained calm. Only after the zombies outside had calmed down did she reach out and open the door. A moment later, the zombies outside rushed in.

To avoid being pushed over, Xiao Xiao took two steps back and went back up the stairs. Only after the zombies outside had filled all the space below did she go down the stairs again and enter the zombie horde.

The zombie horde was unaware of her presence. Once she entered the horde, the entire group treated her as one of their own.

She walked unhurriedly into the horde of zombies, exited through the back door, and the machete and pistol in her hand began to clash. Instantly, the surrounding zombies were attracted by the movement in her hands and all moved closer to her.

Xiao Xiao was satisfied with the result and continued walking outside. In no time, she led a group of zombies out of the community and headed towards a commercial building in front of her.

Su Mu and his men were waiting inside the commercial building. Xiao Xiao glanced at the light coming from the third floor of the building, but instead of rushing to take the zombies there, she stayed put and didn't move.

As for the zombies that had followed her, they all stopped and did not move.

Zombies are less mobile at night, and they basically won't move unless there's any noise. Since Xiao Xiao stopped, the zombies naturally stopped moving as well.

Since the people from Biyuan had not yet arrived, Su Mu's people naturally did not move.

Xiao Xiao stood quietly amidst the horde of zombies, silent and motionless, her eyes fixed on the light on the third floor ahead, waiting patiently.

I waited for a full ten minutes.

She heard the sound of a car engine coming from afar.

The surrounding zombies seemed to start to stir because of the sound of the car engine.

To keep them calm, Xiao Xiao began to tap rhythmically. The sound wasn't loud, but it effectively stabilized the surrounding zombies.

"Are they here?"

She was a little confused. She walked through the horde of zombies and came to the outer edge of the horde. She saw that the light on the third floor of the commercial building had disappeared. It seemed that Su Mu and his group had seen the convoy in the distance and then came down from the building. She wondered if they wanted to ambush Bi Yuan.

Xiao Xiao stood quietly at the edge of the zombie horde, watching Su Mu and his group appear outside the building, a little puzzled.

"If the people from Jiangbei want to meet with the people from Biyuan, do I need to force them?"

Xiao Xiao was a little confused.

She didn't rush to act, but quietly observed their situation.

A short while later, vehicles in the distance approached.

At this moment, Su Mu's men began to leave, seemingly unwilling to meet with the people from Biyuan.

Upon seeing this, Xiao Xiao began to take action.

She rhythmically tapped the knife and gun in her hands, and the zombies around her came back to her. She started running towards Su Mu and the others. If Su Mu left, there would be no way to have an encounter with the people from Biyuan. If they couldn't meet, the plan would fall through!

Xiao Xiao knew that this plan could not fail, so she decisively ran over.

Some fast-running zombies caught up with her, while most of the zombies followed closely behind her.

Fortunately, she was in the parking lot behind the commercial building, so when she appeared with a group of zombies on the route Su Mu and his men wanted to take, they were all stunned.

"Holy crap, so many zombies!"

"Damn it, where did all these zombies come from? Didn't we check before? There weren't any zombies around!"

Su Mu stared in shock at the horde of zombies that had suddenly appeared before him, completely baffled as to what was going on. Moreover, the horde of zombies was blocking their way out. If they didn't leave soon, they would probably run into Bi Yuan coming from the other side!

Ignoring everything else, Xiao Xiao continued to advance with the zombies.

Su Mu frowned. The retreat route was blocked by zombies, so he could only move forward. But if he moved forward, he would inevitably run into the people from Biyuan.

Su Mu felt a sense of panic. He thought, "Lu Xiaonan, even God is on your side. I can't believe I've encountered such an accident."

Without further hesitation, he said to the person beside him, "Let's go, head straight to the wholesale market. Ignore the people from Biyuan. If they catch up, we'll run as fast as we can!"

Forced by the horde of zombies, Su Mu finally chose to take the right path.

After they started to leave, Biyuan caught up from behind.

Thus, an inevitable encounter began.
