Chapter 351 Fei Lichao Wakes Up

Jingjie's voice came from outside. I turned my head around and looked up. I saw a body leaning out of the window on the third floor of a building. It was Jingjie!

"Sister Jing!" I exclaimed in surprise. I didn't expect to find Sister Jing after calling her twice. What luck!

Jingjie's face was also full of surprise, but after the surprise, her expression turned anxious, and she hurriedly said, "Xiaonan, come up quickly, Fei Lichao is sick! I don't know what to do!"

"Okay, I'll be right up!"

Upon hearing Sister Jing's voice, I quickly ran towards the building where she was. I ran in from the front and went up to the third floor.

Jingjie was waiting for me at the bottom of the stairs, looking anxious. When she saw me come up, she quickly pulled me into the house.

Upon entering, I discovered that most of the renovations in the house had been completed, and one of the rooms was already furnished and occupied.

At this moment, Fei Lichao is lying in this room with his injuries. I can see that his left hand is gone, and the wound is wrapped with gauze.

Sister Jing chimed in, "I don't know what's wrong with him either. When I came back, I saw that he had a fever. Do you think he might have gotten an infection?"

"Jing-jie, don't worry, let me take a look first."

I went to the bedside, touched Fei Lichao's forehead, and found it was very hot.

I don't have a stethoscope on me right now, so I can only listen to his heart and lungs by putting my ear to his chest.

However, I couldn't hear it clearly, but the heartbeat was still good and within the normal range, which relieved me.

As for his breathing, it was smooth and there was no unusual noise.

There were no black veins on his arms or neck.

Immediately, I began to unwrap the gauze from his severed hand, and asked, "Sister Jing, do you have any spare gauze?"

"Yes, yes, I took a lot," Sister Jing said.

"Okay, please prepare it for me."

I unwrapped all the gauze from his severed hand and saw a clean cut on it. The cut was a bloody mess with some charred bits, clearly indicating that it had been burned at high temperatures.

I examined the wound carefully and then asked, "Sister Jing, do you have any alcohol swabs?"

"No."

I glanced at what Sister Jing had brought over and said, "Use chopsticks to hold the gauze and dip it in alcohol. After you take it out, squeeze it dry and remember not to drop it on the ground."

"Oh, okay." Sister Jing cooperated with me as I started to apply the gauze.

A moment later, I used chopsticks to hold the gauze soaked in alcohol by Sister Jing, turned my head to look at Fei Lichao who was unconscious, and began to clean his wounds.

I wiped his wound with gauze, and Fei Lichao didn't move, which reassured me, so I started to clean his wound with peace of mind.

I received a message: "Jing-jie, was Fei Lichao's hand bitten by a zombie? Is that why it was cut off?"

Sister Jing said, "Yes, he was bitten by a zombie while trying to save me. There was nothing I could do; the situation was too chaotic, and it was all my fault..."

Without looking at Sister Jing, I asked, "So, did you see his hand?"

"Hmm." Sister Jing was clearly feeling unwell.

“Sister Jing, don’t blame yourself for this. You did the right thing. If you hadn’t cut off his hand, Fei Lichao would be dead,” I said.

“I know, but Xiaonan, you don’t know…” Sister Jing began to choke up as she spoke.

I said, "Jing, let's talk about it later. Your sister and Du Xu will meet up with the others by a car on the west side in about an hour. Then we can go back to school."

"Okay, whatever you say," Sister Jing said.

I carefully cleaned Fei Lichao's wound, removing all the blood and other dirt. Fei Lichao's fever was probably just a normal cold, but the excessive bleeding and weakened his body aggravated his condition. Luckily, Fei Lichao was in good physical condition; if it were someone else, they would have died long ago after bleeding so much and traveling so fast.

I breathed a sigh of relief after they re-bandaged his wound.

I asked, "Sister Jing, have you given him his medicine?"

Sister Jing nodded and said, "She has taken fever reducers and anti-inflammatory drugs."

I said, "That's good. Let him get a good night's sleep. His fever should go down in a while."

...

An hour later, Lu Yun and Sister Jing were reunited, and the two sisters huddled together and cried.

As for Du Xu, he also breathed a sigh of relief, took out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket, and said with a smile, "Finally, I can smoke. Want one?"

I took the cigarette, and he lit it for me.

I took a deep drag, and it felt fucking amazing!

We found Fei Lichao and Sister Jing safely, and they are not in any danger. Although Fei Lichao's condition is not optimistic, as long as they are alive, there is hope.

After finishing a cigarette, Jingjie and Lu Yun's reminiscing came to an end.

I said, "Sister Jing, could you tell us what exactly happened the night the Southeast Community was wiped out? Why did the other side want to destroy the Southeast Community?"

When Jing heard my words, she paused for a moment, then asked, "You know about those people?"

I nodded and said, "Yes, I couldn't get in touch with you guys before, so I went to the Southeast Residential Area. When I saw that the Southeast Residential Area had been wiped out, I knew something was wrong. Later, I learned about those people by chance. I want to know why they wiped out the Southeast Residential Area?"

Sister Jing sighed and said, "This matter is actually quite simple. It started when Chen Yefei contacted their leader. Because the other side had more weapons, Chen Yefei wanted to exchange his wounded resources for weapons. At first, the negotiations went well, with a certain amount of resources exchanged for a certain amount of weapons. But later, that very night, they suddenly disappeared and launched a surprise attack on the Southeast Residential Area. Xiaonan, as you know, the people in the Southeast Residential Area didn't have any firearms, so it was difficult for them to resist. Therefore, the other side easily massacred the entire Southeast Residential Area."

"If Fei Lichao hadn't saved me, I probably would be dead now."

Sister Jing didn't stop and continued, "Later, Fei Lichao was bitten by a zombie while trying to save me. Then he asked me to cut off his hand, and then... then I cut it off. After that, we started to run away. We kept running until we reached a certain place, and I tried to stop the bleeding. We didn't dare to stop and kept running until we got here. Fei Lichao also fainted."

I nodded and said, "Sister Jing, don't worry, we've wiped out that group of people. Not a single one was left; we killed them all."

Sister Jing looked at me in surprise, "Really!"

“Yes, really,” I said.

Sister Jing smiled happily and said, "That's great!"

I asked, "By the way, Sister Jing, do you know if Song Xiaoxiao escaped?"

Sister Jing thought for a moment, then shook her head and said, "I don't know. It was too chaotic that night, and I didn't see clearly whether she escaped or not."
