Chapter 380 The Diary in the Recorder

After Wen Guochao went to the power distribution room, I called out, "Let's turn on the power to the third floor first."

A moment later, the lights above Lu Yun and me came on. Wen Guochao seemed to be trying to save electricity, so he didn't turn on many lights, but it was enough for us to see everything around us clearly.

We are currently in a residential area; as for the other area, we haven't been there yet.

I asked Lu Yun, "Did you look through all these rooms yesterday?"

Lu Yun said, "Not yet, I've only read half of it."

Looking at the many empty rooms in front of me, I said, "Then you take half and I'll take half, and we'll go check again to see if we've missed anything."

"Um."

Lu Yun and I split up; I went to check the rooms on the left, and she went to check the rooms on the right.

I arrived at the door of the first room, pushed it open, and turned on the light. The room wasn't big; it contained a wardrobe built into the wall, a bed, a desk, and a very small toilet.

The empty space is only big enough for one person to walk through; the room is just that small.

You can see the light at a glance.

After confirming that there were no problems, I continued with the inspection.

Actually, there aren't many rooms, only twenty-six in total, and half of them are clearly unoccupied.

In just a few minutes, I arrived at the door of the last room.

Before I pushed open the door, I thought that this last room was also occupied by someone who couldn't resist. But when I opened the door and turned on the light, I found that someone was actually living in this room!

Curious, I went inside to take a look, but I didn't find any corpses or zombies. Then I looked around and saw a voice recorder on the table.

I picked it up and pressed a couple of buttons randomly, but the recorder didn't do anything.

I wasn't interested in this thing either, so I threw it back on the table and left the room.

Once outside, Lu Yun had just finished checking the last room.

"So, did you find anything?" I asked.

Lu Yun shook her head, "No, everything is normal."

I nodded. As long as it's normal, that's fine. What I'm worried about is something not being normal. Since everything is normal, there's nothing else to check.

I said, "Let's go and take a look at another area."

The two areas on the third floor, the residential area, have already been thoroughly checked, and there's nothing more to check.

The entrance to the other area is in the corridor. We didn't notice it when we came up yesterday because it was too dark. If we hadn't noticed that the size of the residential area and the research institute seemed disproportionate, we wouldn't have guessed that there was another area on the third floor.

Arriving at the entrance of another area, Lu Yun and I stood at the door, unable to go in.

The door in front of them was locked, and a palm-sized screen on the wall next to it displayed numbers, clearly indicating that a password was required to open the door.

I called out to Wen Guochao, "Can you open this door? This door has a password."

Wen Guochao's voice came through: "Wait a moment, I'm taking care of it, it'll be quick."

Lu Yun and I weren't in a hurry; we just waited here.

Two minutes later, the door that required a password started moving; the red indicator on the combination lock turned green, and the door opened instantly.

"Is it open yet?" Wen Guochao called out.

"It's open!" I shouted.

Wen Guochao then said, "I've changed the password to four zeros. From now on, you can just enter four zeros to log in."

"Okay, we understand."

Lu Yun and I exchanged a glance and stepped inside. The area was pitch black, and we couldn't see anything.

Snap!

I reached out and turned on the light switch next to me. In an instant, the fluorescent lights came on, illuminating the entire area.

Lu Yun and I stood at the door, and were shocked by what we saw.

Because what I saw in front of me was a medical room, and even a closed operating room and isolation room, my mouth dropped open as I stared at the room in disbelief.

"here……"

I walked up to the cabinet and saw the new and experimental drugs, as well as various clinical and over-the-counter drugs inside. I laughed out loud.

After hearing my laughter, Lu Yun looked at me in confusion and asked, "What are you laughing at?"

I looked at Lu Yun and said, "I think we are truly secure now. We can make full use of these medicines, as well as all the conditions and equipment available here."

Lu Yun looked at me, puzzled, and asked, "And then?"

I said, "Then? Then, we might be able to give everyone a physical examination, and check your condition. Maybe we can figure out why you're not afraid of zombies. But I still need to learn that. There are many things I don't understand yet."

Lu Yun looked at me warily. "You're going to use me for experiments?"

I chuckled and said, "How could that be! We'll just draw some blood and do some sampling; we'd never use you as an experiment!"

Lu Yun breathed a sigh of relief. She looked around and said, "There seems to be another room over there."

I turned my head and saw that there was indeed another room over there.

When we arrived here, we found that it was still a combination lock. I picked up the walkie-talkie and asked Wen Guochao, "Wen Guochao, there is another door in here, which is also a combination lock."

Wen Guochao said, "I've changed the passwords for all the doors to four zeros. Try opening them and see if you can."

Upon hearing this, Lu Yun pressed four zeros and then pressed confirm, instantly unlocking the door.

As soon as we pushed open the door, we entered this room further inside.

As soon as we entered, we felt a sinister atmosphere.

Lu Yun turned on the light.

I got a clear look at the situation inside the room.

This is a laboratory.

Various laboratory instruments, enclosed storage rooms and lab benches, and display rooms for storing various specimens, etc. In short, this room did not give us a good feeling.

There was nothing else in the room.

After confirming there was no danger, Lu Yun and I left the laboratory and returned to the medical room outside.

I said, "There's nothing wrong here, let's go downstairs and take a look."

"Um."

Lu Yun and I returned to the residential area and called out to Wen Guochao in the power distribution room, "Wen Guochao, we're going to the second floor now. Turn on the power on the second floor and turn it off on the third floor."

"knew."

Immediately afterwards, Lu Yun and I went down to the second floor.

We turned on the lights and went straight to the front desk.

It is indeed a reception desk, just like the reception desk in the lobby of a typical company.

Yesterday it was pitch black and there were so many zombies that we didn't pay much attention. We only saw the situation here now that we turned on the lights.

I became puzzled. Could it be that the second floor is an office?

"Let's go in and take a look, but be careful," I said.

Lu Yun said, "No, you should be careful. I'm not afraid of zombies."

"..." I was speechless.
