Chapter 456 Back on the Arena

While dealing with the burly man, I kept my eyes fixed on his eyes. If he made any move, my first reaction would definitely be to look into his eyes.

Just like now, this guy's eyes shifted down, glanced at my legs, and then he rushed towards me, bending over and spreading his arms to pounce on me.

I wasn't stupid enough to confront him head-on, so I turned and ran, not caring what he wanted to do!

So he missed his target. I didn't want to turn around and fight back. If it were that bald guy, I would have broken his neck. But this strong man in front of me was not in the same league as me. Fighting him would only lead to my death.

Although Fei Lichao taught me how to deal with such big guys, theoretical learning and real practice are two different things.

The burly man laughed at me twice, seemingly very excited.

I stared at him, thinking that since a direct confrontation wouldn't work, I'd have to rely on words.

Just as the burly man was about to charge at me, I said, "Wait a minute."

The burly man stopped in his tracks.

I hurriedly said, "I know you must be a regular in this arena, but I am not. I came here only to get my sister back. So, if you're willing, could you do me a favor and admit defeat? Then we can live in peace and nothing will happen!"

The burly man stared at me and sneered, "Are you stupid! We've already come this far, do you think you can get out? Once the cage comes down, only one of us can walk out alive. If I listen to you and admit defeat, I'll only have one way out: death!"

I frowned and said, "The rules for the competition I came up in weren't like this. The captain of the guard downstairs said that it's just a competition, and there's no need to pay the price with one's life!"

The burly man looked at me as if I were an idiot, and roared, "Are you an idiot?! You really think that bastard down there will let you go?! Do you know who came up with this cage competition?! It was that guard captain! He tricked you into coming here just to make you participate in this life-or-death duel. You think he's a good person?!"

My brow furrowed; I knew I had truly been deceived this time.

The burly man roared, "You idiot, if you want to live, kill me! But let me tell you, I want to live even more than you do!"

I glanced at the smiling captain of the guards below the arena and gritted my teeth.

So this bastard has been sabotaging me from beginning to end!

Once I get out of here, I'm going to kill that bastard!

But how do I get out now?

This burly man in front of me is clearly not someone I can handle. If he gets close and grabs me, I'm done for!

At this moment, the burly man who had been stalling me said, "Hurry up and die, or the zombies will come in!"

Zombies?!

Just as I was stunned, a door suddenly opened behind me in the iron cage, and a zombie was stuffed into the arena.

The moment I saw this zombie, my eyes widened in disbelief.

The zombie that was suddenly released in front of them was the boxing champion that Jiang Bai had bitten to death earlier. Now he had completely turned into a zombie, with a bloody mess of wounds on his throat, a terrifyingly pale face, and his body covered with many black blood vessels.

As soon as the zombie entered the iron cage, everyone around the arena got excited.

I guess this is their favorite part to watch.

There are zombies, and two people of vastly different strength are fighting each other.

The moment the zombie entered the iron cage, the burly man charged at me without a word. Because my attention was focused on the zombie, I didn't notice the burly man behind me.

"Xiaonan, watch out!" It wasn't until Sister Jing shouted at me from below the stage that I noticed there was a burly man behind me.

But by the time I realized what was happening, it was too late. The burly man rushed over and crashed into my back. I lost my footing and was knocked to the ground, falling headlong into the zombie in front of me. After rolling once on the ground, I ended up at the zombie's feet.

Zombies always target the one closest to them, so when I appeared at the zombie's feet, the zombie clearly sensed me, immediately lowered its head, bent over, and reached out its hand towards me.

I was lying on the ground, completely disoriented from being hit by the burly man, and I couldn't react at all.

Aww!

However, the roars coming from the zombie's throat brought me back to my senses. I realized the situation before me and knew that I couldn't let the zombie eat me. I had to fight back!

The moment the zombie bent down, I rolled away, trying to get out, but the burly man seemed to be waiting for me. After I rolled around once, he kicked me in the stomach.

I let out a scream instantly, clutching my stomach, in excruciating pain.

Immediately, the burly man lifted me off the ground and threw me toward the zombies.

With a thud, I crashed into the zombie, and we both fell to the ground.

Zombies won't miss any opportunity to eat people. After I fell to the ground, I lay next to a zombie. It reached out and grabbed my clothes, then pulled them towards itself.

It opened its mouth, and a hissing sound came from its throat. In order to resist, I endured the pain in my abdomen and kicked the zombie in the stomach with both feet, trying to break free from its restraints.

But the zombie was incredibly strong; I kicked it with all my might.

With a tearing sound, my clothes were ripped open.

Just when I thought I had gotten rid of the zombie, the burly man behind me reappeared, squatted down, grabbed my hair, and forced my head into the zombie's mouth.

I gritted my teeth and kept pricking myself with needles, but the strong man was just too strong, and I couldn't resist him at all.

My head was getting closer and closer to the zombie's mouth, but I couldn't think of any way to get out of this situation. Was I really going to die here?

I heard my younger sister and Sister Jing shouting in panic downstairs, and I also heard the guard captain and that bald man laughing happily.

I even heard gunshots!

Bang!

It was definitely a gunshot, and it came right outside the cage of the arena.

I don't know who fired the shot, but the instant the gunshot rang out, a gunshot wound appeared on the temple of the zombie in front of me, and then the zombie died instantly, lifeless.

Bang!

Another gunshot rang out, and the burly man who was holding my head suddenly fell to the ground behind me. I turned around and saw a gunshot wound on his forehead, clearly indicating that he had been shot to death.

I'm very curious and puzzled as to who killed the zombies and the strong man.

I looked up and saw Zhang Lincai standing outside the iron cage, holding a pistol, looking at me with interest. He chuckled and said, "I didn't know, Dr. Lu, you like to fight in the ring?"
