Chapter 57 Intimidation (Third Update)

(Just a heads up today, there will only be two updates today, because I need to spend time working on the outline.)

I said, "More or less."

Ke Jiamin asked curiously, "What's inside? Are you going to go over there?"

I said, "Don't worry about that. Just stay here and wait for us. We'll probably be back soon."

Changing clothes was quick; in no time, Shen Dian and I were dressed, our faces covered with cloth strips, making us look similar to the two soldiers at first glance.

Chen was half a head taller than me, though not quite as tall as the soldiers, but about the same height.

"That's about enough, let's go," Pu Weichao said.

After observing the surroundings, we set off.

The two soldiers already had a lot of weapons and equipment on them. I took the machete, and the three of us ran forward, not wanting to linger on the road any longer.

To avoid getting entangled with those monsters, we didn't even make a move, but instead bypassed them and ran towards the main gate of Tiande Pharmaceutical Company.

The entrance to the gate was lined with cars used to block monsters, and inside each car were protruding iron bars, each bar filled with monsters.

The only way to get through is to go around the edge.

We reached the edge and saw the guardhouse, so we opened the window and went inside, closing it only after all three of us were inside. That's how the two soldiers came in and out.

Once inside, you're safe, since there are no monsters here.

After leaving the gatehouse, you arrive at the forecourt in front of the pharmaceutical company's main entrance, where there is a circular fountain pool and an artificial hill.

The three of us quickly arrived at the door. I looked around and finally my eyes fell on the surveillance camera in the upper right corner of the door. I was stunned.

"There are security cameras!" I exclaimed.

Pu Weichao and Shen Dian turned around and asked, "Where?"

I pointed to the surveillance camera in the upper right corner, and the two of them spotted it immediately.

Pu Weichao cursed, "Holy crap, it really is a surveillance camera! All the lights on it are on!"

The surveillance camera was flashing a red light, clearly indicating that it was working.

This is something we overlooked. There's nothing we can do about it; the world has become such a mess, the power plant must have stopped working by now. Who knew this company still had electricity!

Pu Weichao hurriedly said, "Don't panic now. They shouldn't suspect anything yet. Let's go in right away, find the place, rescue the person, and then we'll run!"

We stood at the doorway, and the glass doors opened automatically to both sides.

The three of us went inside and followed the route the soldier had given us, heading towards the elevator.

Chen then asked, "If they've already found us, isn't it too unsafe to take the elevator now?"

Pu Weichao said, "But if we take the stairs, wouldn't we be more exposed and less safe?"

Pu Weichao's words left no room for argument.

We arrived at the elevator door, entered the elevator, pressed the button for the fifth floor, and the elevator began to slowly ascend.

The fifth floor is where people are imprisoned.

Our hearts were pounding; we were very nervous.

We arrived at the fifth floor quickly, and with a ding, the elevator doors slowly opened.

The crack in the door gradually widened, and by the time we saw what was happening outside, it was too late to draw our guns.

Outside the elevator, five soldiers in camouflage uniforms stood with their guns pointed at the three of us.

The man in the middle shouted, "Don't move! Put your hands on your heads!"

None of the three of us expected things to turn out this way. It seems we miscalculated, or perhaps those two soldiers weren't telling the truth at all.

"What should we do?" Chen asked softly.

"Damn it, what else can we do but surrender!" Pu Weichao was the first to raise his hands above his head.

Helpless, we also raised our hands.

As soon as the people outside came in, they put guns to our heads and got out of the elevator.

The captain, who was in charge, ripped the cloth strips off Gao Feng and my faces, revealing our true identities. He sneered, "You really think you can fool us? I saw you kidnapping my team members on the street before. Now you actually want to disguise yourselves and come in. You've got some nerve."

While he was speaking, the others removed all the weapons and equipment from our bodies.

The captain stared at the sediment and asked, "Where are my teammates? Tell me, where are they?"

"have no idea……"

Thump! Before Chen could finish speaking, he was punched by the other party, bent over and knelt on the ground, in great pain.

After the other party finished speaking, they came up to Pu Weichao and asked, "And you, do you know?"

Pu Weichao said, "I know, it's just across the street."

I was startled. Why did Pu Weichao have to say it?

The captain smiled slightly and punched Pu Weichao, who then knelt on the ground as if he had just settled down.

Finally, the captain came up to me and asked, "And you?"

I panicked, but steeled myself and said helplessly, "Since you saw us take your team members away, you must have seen where they were taken. Do you still need to ask us?"

Bang! As soon as I finished speaking, he punched me, and I was completely stunned.

"You're quite clever." The captain sneered at me, then said to the people around him, "Lock those three in the cell, and you guys go out and bring those two good-for-nothings back."

We were dragged away by these people, and after a while we arrived at the door of a house. One of them opened the door and, before we could react, threw the three of us inside.

It wasn't too dark inside; the light from outside the window shone in, allowing me to see what kind of place this was.
