Chapter 594 Tracking
"Let's go, follow them!"
After I saw Liu Tian leave the school gate with his men, I said something to Hu Fei.
Hu Fei was completely dumbfounded when he heard what I said, and grabbed me, asking, "What's wrong?"
I said, "They should be from the other faction that the kid mentioned earlier. I want to see exactly where they are so we can find them more easily."
Hu Fei's eyes widened: "Holy crap, are you serious?"
I frowned and said, "You think I'm joking with you?"
Hu Fei blinked and said, "Okay, okay, you go then. Do you want me to go get the car? They'll definitely be coming by car. How can you catch up if you run after them like this?"
I said, "Driving is definitely too late. I'll catch up first and leave traces on the road so you can catch up with me."
“Okay, then you hurry up, and I’ll hurry up too,” Hu Fei said.
After we finished speaking, we parted ways. I glanced in the direction Liu Tian and the others had gone, and then carefully followed in their footsteps. Over the past year, I had learned a lot of things, and the skill of tracking was something I naturally honed.
After catching up with them, I saw them come to another street, where several cars were waiting for them.
I roughly counted their numbers; there were about a dozen people in three cars. After they all got on the cars, they set off one after another.
Heading east.
I looked to the east and saw a lot of buildings there. Fu Sheng had mentioned before that they were in one of those buildings, so they were very likely in one of those buildings over there.
I left a trace of Hu Fei here, so I followed him.
The cars in front of me weren't going very fast. To avoid being seen in their rearview mirrors, I basically kept to myself the whole way. I only ran past them when I saw them turn a corner, and then started taking shortcuts to catch up with them.
Although I encountered quite a few zombies along the way, there was nothing I could do about it; after all, I had to follow them.
I followed him for about two blocks when Hu Fei appeared beside me in his car.
"Get in the car quickly."
After I got in the car, Hu Fei hurriedly drove after me.
To avoid being spotted, we kept a distance from them, basically watching them from the corner, and only chased after them after they turned the corner.
About ten minutes later, I saw them enter an underground parking garage. There were people blocking the entrance to the garage, so we didn't appear.
I hid to the side and watched them. Then I looked up and found that there were no signs on the office building, and I had never been here before.
After all, this is a remote place.
When I worked at the hospital, I rarely had time to come to such remote places. Besides, there's nowhere to have fun here, so why come here?
Looking at the building in front of him, Hu Fei asked, "They must live in here, right?"
I said, "Yes, that should be the case."
Hu Fei said, "They seem pretty formidable. There are guards at the entrance, but judging from their appearance, they don't seem to have any guns."
I said, "There might be guns, but very few, and the guards wouldn't be allowed to carry them."
Hu Fei asked, "So what are you planning to do now? Are you going to do what you did yesterday? Stay here and keep watch all day?"
I shook my head and said, "Let's take a look first. I don't think the people inside will come out easily, and it won't be easy to observe them. The glass windows have reflective coatings, so you can't see what's going on inside from the outside. It won't be easy to monitor them either."
"So what do you plan to do?" Hu Fei asked.
I said, "Go inside."
Hu Fei glared at him: "Are you crazy?"
"You're the one who's crazy!"
Hu Fei said, "Are you crazy? You want to go in? This underground parking garage is definitely the only entrance. Do you see any guards anywhere else? There's no one there. If you want to get in, you'll have to deal with these two people first."
I said, "Taking care of those two won't work. Maybe someone up there is watching the garage entrance. You stay here, I'll go out and see if there are any other entrances."
"Hey, hey, hey, don't be impulsive, okay?" Hu Fei hurriedly pulled me back. "Can you please not be so impulsive? We're not in a hurry. If you go in without even knowing what's going on, something could easily happen, you know?"
I said, "What else?"
Hu Fei said, "If you ask me, let's stick to yesterday's approach and observe carefully first. We have plenty of time. If your Wu Shuang is really in this building, it means she's safe, so you don't need to worry too much. Let's wait here for a day and see who comes out. Let's get a feel for the situation first, and then we'll take action, okay?"
I sat in the car and thought about it. I realized that I had indeed been too impulsive. I should do as Hu Fei said first, observe the situation, and then consider what to do after I have a clear understanding of the situation.
"Oh well."
Hu Fei breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that I agreed.
We then quietly left, hid the car in a place, and took the gun and some essentials, hiding in a building not far away.
I stared at the building through binoculars, but the glass on the outside was covered with a reflective coating, so I couldn't see anything inside.
Left with no other choice, we can only wait here.
It was still morning, but around noon I saw people changing shifts in the parking lot.
After that, no one else came out of the parking lot.
It looks like the people inside won't be coming out today.
Hu Fei and I were getting really bored while waiting.
The afternoon passed very slowly, almost unbearably slowly.
All afternoon, no one came out of the parking lot entrance. I was even thinking of just going in. This boring wait wouldn't yield any useful information.
As evening approached, I said to Hu Fei, "I'll go in and take a look tonight."
Hu Fei asked with a pained expression, "Do we really have to go in?"
I said, "We haven't seen anything all day. Instead of this, we might as well take a risk and try to find something. If we can find it, we will. If not, we will retreat. As long as we don't get discovered, that's fine."
Hu Fei said, "But is this really appropriate? I feel it's still too dangerous to do this."
I said, "Otherwise, how would I know what's inside if I didn't do it this way..."
"Holy crap, they're out!" Hu Fei suddenly exclaimed before I could finish my sentence.
I turned my head to look at the exit of the underground parking lot and saw five cars suddenly emerge from the underground garage and leave, I don't know where they went.
