(Three updates tomorrow)
"Damn! That's disgusting! Their intestines are sticking out!" a soldier cursed from the doorway.
I gripped half a rib, waiting for an opportunity. Although I was very close to the door, turning around would definitely alert the other party.
Therefore, I can only make a move when he comes to my side!
"How am I supposed to do this? It's so disgusting!" he murmured, seemingly hesitant and uncertain.
My mouth and nose were filled with the smell of blood, which was disgusting. I wanted to leave immediately, but the other person hadn't come in yet, so I didn't dare to move.
"Oh well, I'll just call that bastard over. He took my cigarettes, so he should be able to help out, right?"
After saying that, he turned and went out the door, intending to go find the guy who was smoking.
I opened my eyes, my heart filled with anxiety. If it was just one person, I wouldn't have any trouble dealing with them, but if there were two, I wouldn't be able to handle them at all!
No, we can't let him go and call for help. We have to take care of him now!
With a heavy heart, I silently stood up from the corpse, turned my head, and saw that the guy was walking towards the glass door.
We can't hesitate any longer; we must strike immediately, or it will be too late once the other side reacts!
The thought flashed through my mind, and I took a step forward, arriving at the glass room door in one stride. I jumped up suddenly!
At that moment, the other party seemed to realize the movement behind them and tried to turn around, but it was too late.
My knee landed on his back, and before he could react, I knocked him to the ground. As I braced myself with my hands, I landed on his back!
This kind of pressure is unbearable for most people!
He lay down on the ground and then stopped moving.
I rolled over on the ground and looked at the guy. I found that he had blood on the corner of his mouth, his eyes were wide open, and he was staring at me in disbelief, but he was not dead yet.
I felt inexplicably relieved.
"Feel sorry."
That last stomp must have broken his spine, otherwise he would have stood up already.
However, given his condition, he probably won't live much longer. His ribs are definitely broken, and the internal bleeding is likely severe. Without immediate treatment, he'll probably die within half an hour.
This was my first time killing someone, and I suddenly felt a bit scared.
After all, it's murder!
But we can't worry about that now!
I took off my blood-soaked white coat, wiped the blood off my face with the other side, and felt much better.
I didn't throw away the blood-soaked white coat. Instead, I put it back on, took the soldier's weapon, glanced at the three glass rooms in front of me, and had a general idea in mind.
"I definitely can't take Wu Shuang away from here by myself; I can only rely on these monsters."
I arrived at the doors of the other two glass rooms, used the soldier's ID card to open the glass doors, and all the monsters inside poured out.
"Aww—"
Because I was covered in blood, they could hardly detect my presence.
I slowed my pace, went to the top of the stairs, guided the monsters there, and then opened the door to the stairwell. The monsters went straight downstairs.
A moment later, another soldier who was smoking in the corridor panicked when he saw the monsters coming out of the corridor and tried to draw his gun to kill them.
But it was too late.
The first monster to enter the stairwell practically rolled down, so before he could even grab his gun, the monster had already reached out and grabbed his ankle, then pulled hard and bit down.
"Ah!" A scream came from the stairwell.
Although this is the ninth floor, the soldiers' screams are very loud. I guess the people on the fifth floor will hear them.
Once they realized what was happening, I went downstairs.
However, you definitely can't go through this stairwell.
I had noticed earlier, when I was on the first floor, that this building had two stairwells, one on each side of the two buildings.
This is the east corridor, and I need to go to the west corridor.
After passing through the atrium on the ninth floor, I arrived at the entrance to the west corridor. I didn't open the door rashly, in case there were soldiers guarding the corridor.
I pressed my ear against the door and listened carefully for a while, but I didn't hear anything. Then I quietly opened the door and went into the hallway.
The hallway was eerily quiet. I took my gun and went downstairs. When I got to the eighth floor, there was no movement. When I got to the seventh floor, there was still no movement.
It wasn't until I reached the sixth floor that I heard noises coming from the fifth floor below.
"You stay here and report anything that happens. The rest of you, come with me to the east staircase!"
"Captain, what happened?" someone asked.
"Something's happened on the east staircase! Stop talking and get on board!" the captain shouted, and I heard their footsteps running further and further away.
"Looks like there's only one person guarding the fifth floor?" I thought to myself, and quietly approached the door on the fifth floor. The door was closed. I went to the door and put my ear close to listen carefully. It seemed that there was already chaos on the fifth floor.
I thought for a moment, then took off my blood-soaked white coat and threw it up the stairs, then knocked on the door.
Knock knock knock.
The soldier on the fifth floor seemed puzzled, then pushed open the door, poked his head out, and immediately saw the blood-red coat I had left on the stairs, looking quite surprised.
He walked into the stairwell, and I hid behind the door, raised the butt of my gun, and struck him on the back of the head.
I knocked the guy unconscious with one blow, and he fell to the ground.
I searched him for a while, took his ID card, and then quietly went into the fifth floor.
Those who were arrested were imprisoned in this area.
I checked my bearings, found the road I had taken before, took a few detours, and came to the door of a house where those who had been captured were being held.
I used my ID card to open the door. After pushing it open, I saw the people huddled inside and shouted, "If you want to live, leave now, or you won't be able to leave later!"
After saying that, I didn't bother with them anymore and turned around to rescue Wu Shuang.
The purpose of releasing them was merely to distract the soldiers. As for whether these people could actually escape, I couldn't care less.
Sure enough, a dozen seconds after I opened the door, a piercing alarm suddenly went off, startling me.
After the initial panic, the entire fifth floor was in a mess.
There weren't many soldiers to begin with, and now they've all gone to the east staircase to kill monsters, leaving the fifth floor with virtually no security measures.
I arrived at the laboratory where Wu Shuang was being held, swiped my soldier ID card, and the door opened immediately. I ran inside without hesitation.
As soon as Wu Shuang saw me enter the glass room, he shouted loudly, "Be careful!!"
Be careful?! My heart suddenly skipped a beat.
As I turned around, a pistol suddenly appeared in front of me, its dark muzzle pressed against my forehead.
Zhang Jianzhou! My eyes widened in surprise. Why is this bastard here?
Zhang Jianzhou sneered: "Little Lu, I didn't expect you to be so powerful. Even if I threw you into a horde of zombies, I wouldn't be able to kill you."
