Chapter 624 The Truth
Although no one answered, everyone understood what they were to do next: listen quietly to what I was about to say.

After Zhu Zhenhao finished speaking, he handed the loudspeaker back to me.

When I shouted that, the people below started to react. Li Xun and Wu Fangzhou were the first to step forward. With the leaders in place, it was easier to deal with the others. About a minute later, the men and women were basically separated.
I continued, "Please count the number of people in each of your groups and report it to me."
They quickly counted the number of people and reported it to me.
There were forty men in total, and fifty-three women and children in total.
I said, "Now that we know your situation, and I've looked at you, there are no disabled people among you. That's good, it's beneficial for our current situation."
"Before I get to the point, there's something I need to explain to you. I'm sure you don't understand why I called you all here, or why I separated you. Well then, I'll explain it to you now."
I stared at the crowd on the playground and asked, "I think you all know about the attack on headquarters the night before last, right?"

They remained silent, but I saw sadness on some of their faces.

I ignored them and fired a shot into the air, silencing them all.
I stared at them and said, "Am I wrong? You're all cursing me here? Why don't you curse yourselves? Before I summoned you to the playground, I had already seen the whole situation here and understood the true nature of you people."
"I can tell you this with absolute certainty: when I went to check on the patrol team, I found that out of eight people, only two were actually patrolling. The other six were playing cards in the house! Please think this through. You were already ambushed and so many people died. Don't you understand yet? The patrol team isn't patrolling; they're playing cards instead? Don't tell me you're on shifts. I'm telling you, this isn't patrolling; this is suicide!"
"And the search team, you've been staying indoors all day without going out. Is this what you call a search team? What is your job? To go out and collect usable resources, but what have you done? Stayed indoors and rusted! Don't tell me that there are enough resources at headquarters right now, and we don't need to go out and search. I stared at them, paused, and then said, “The first thing, starting today, is to remove all the administrators. From this moment on, these administrators have no power to manage you, nor any right to enjoy anything. They will work just like all of you, participate in patrols, or go out on searches!”
Although the managers already knew about this, their expressions were anything but pleasant at this moment.
I saw some people in the crowd who were very happy after hearing the news.
I continued, “That’s the first thing. The second thing is that from now on, all the men will be responsible for the patrol team. You heard me right, I said all of them, forty people in total. I need you to take turns monitoring the surrounding area 24 hours a day. In addition, all forty of you men must also take turns participating in search missions. Of course, if any women wish to join the men’s team, I have no objection.”
